What if your opinion on a brick and mortar doing local delivery everyday like Amazon Whole Foods

    Posted: 30 Dec 2021 05:13 PM PST

We are a small retail eco friendly shop. For 2022 we are going to only be open 4 days a week as we want to push more online, local delivery & pick up.

My business partner wants to do local delivery everyday from 6-8pm and people pay a fee depending on the mileage. Right now it's just me & her working. She for us to be the next Whole Foods prime with same day delivery.

Personally I don't like the idea of local delivery everyday because I don't think it's eco friendly at all. You're using a lot of emissions say a person from a town 8 miles away orders to deliver to their house Monday and then another person who lives in the same town wants a delivery Tuesday that's not efficient on gas or emissions.

I think that condensing it to 1-3 days a week we can pick routes that are on the way & it would be more efficient for everyone but i dont know if I'm being close minded. Specially if it's just us two.

She said we would split the deliveries.

What do you all think? & if you agree with me do you have any other reasons I can use in me presenting my case.

    What is Digital Business?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2021 10:10 PM PST

I see a lot of ads about starting your own digital business and that I should join their webinar and they can train me to do the business like themselves? Is this legit? Most of the ad does not have a company affiliated. It's just people advertising to join their webinar. Everytime I ask them something, they would always say, watch this video or message me

    Decision avoidance

    Posted: 30 Dec 2021 12:17 PM PST

Has anyone ever encountered a supervisor who creates work or observes low-value issues to distract their supervisor(s) or peers from the fact they are doing little to no work?

For instance: they point out an issue that may be valid. This stirs up a bunch of activity around it.

The Beginning: "We need to get to the bottom of this!"

If the goal appears to be in sight, the individual will pivot slightly in an effort to extend research activity around the issue to avoid making a decision or recommendation.

(Not actually) The End: "No, I meant we need to get to the bottom of this ...over here..."

This feels like some sort of pathology or anti-pattern that has been observed or diagnosed before. I would like to know if there is some official term.

Snark is welcome, but serious answers preferred.

What would you suggest as a replacement for a business BA or an MBA?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2021 10:23 AM PST

Hi. I'm 30, I have a masters in History. I'm coming up against a wall because I have only non-management work experience. I want to progress. I am considering an MBA, however I would like all your opinion as to whether there are any alternatives? Thanks
