How would I go about starting my own business providing companies a service?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2021 12:41 AM PST

I would offer my services. They could hire me for a flat rate. I go in, do the job, and finish the contract. I would work on my own from my own home and conduct everything myself.

How To Starting A Space Industry?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2021 04:24 AM PST

I'll admit that I'm not really fluent in business practices but recently I was thinking about wanting to leave a mark and wanting to make life better by doing what I love; I love building spaceships.

From Star Wars to Cowboy Bebop I've found living in space fascinating and essential for society to grow, progress, and expand. I just want to make space livable and affordable and safe of course and I want to build spaceships. I just not sure where to start.

I'm no engineer nor a professional scientist or physician, I'm not even sure what I should "bring to the table" in this new field of Industries. I'm just a fool trying to follow a dream. if there's any start up advices I'm more than happy to hear them out.

If I do start this business, I'm calling it Starway Enterprise.

How can I lay the groundwork now to go into business later?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2021 04:01 PM PST

I'm not looking for a roadmap. Just general advice.

I (25M) am working on my BS in IT with a focus on Cybersecurity. I enjoy the space and what I do and am learning but I feel like I'm going to want to mix things up after a decade or so and the idea of running a business has always appealed to me. I think I would enjoy the challenge of trying to build something from the ground up and hunting for the right person and trying to build a good culture and feed some profit back to my community through scholarships (i specifically want to do that since I'm in a poor rural area).

I'm at least 5-10 years off from starting this but I still feel like if I can learn stuff casually (I learn best from casual reading rather the traditional study) then I'll be money ahead. Any suggestions on what I could do on the job now that might expose me to skills I'll need later? What were some good resources you have found that really helped you lay the ground work for your business knowledge?

Finding clients in a new business?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2021 02:35 PM PST

I and a good friend have decided to put our heads down and delve into the world of entrepreneurship and start a business. We both have some sales experience, and both are quite skilled in video editing (The service our business will be providing).

Due to the nature of video editing, there won't be much face-to-face happening, and a lot of our work is going to be remote.

Our original plan of obtaining leads (and hopefully paying clients) is/was to cold email a few hundred YouTubers (not via copy and paste or automated, handwriting each email) and offer some free work, however, we don't want to come across as spammy, and obviously, there is no guarantee this will even work.

So could I ask some advice on ideas on getting our first few clients, and possibly any other advice you have for us?

    Cheers!

    How to

    Posted: 29 Dec 2021 11:46 AM PST

I've had this business idea for about 3 years. I've learned everything I can towards it. But to get started, I need my own place. Renting is not an option for no one will want me to run this business out of there home. But right now I cannot afford a mortgage over 1500. Unless I make more (if I dint work for other people) There has to be some possible way I can get a rent to own or co-signer or business loan or something right? I've been saving up from my normal 9-5 this whole time but only saved 20k. In last 4 years. Not enough to get a house. I have no family to co sign. Any advice. I really want to get my business going.
