What is the difference between (Gross Interest Expense) and (Interest Expense)

    Posted: 24 Nov 2021 11:35 PM PST

In a hypothetical situation, lets just say you are in your 20's and have 100K USD sitting on the side. What would be the best strategy/approach to maximize long-term gain? What percentage would you invest vs keep in bank/savings account, etc?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2021 11:22 PM PST

    Hey guys,

In a hypothetical situation, lets just say you are in your 20's and you have 100k USD sitting on the side and that's it. You have your typical living expenses such as food and rent but you have a steady job that completely covers that every single month.

What would be the best strategy/approach to maximize long-term gains in this scenario? What percent of your total money would you have invested in stocks (lets say index funds, primarily VTI for example) vs what percentage would you store in your bank/savings account?

What would you do in this situation and why? How much of the total cash stack would you have invested at once and what strategies/approaches would you use to maximize long-term gain without taking an incredible amount of risk? Let's just say you do not need the money anytime soon and plan on holding for the long-term, especially through volatile times.

Curious on what you guys all think

How to exit vertical spread with no buyers?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2021 11:14 AM PST

I have a vertical spread expiring in Jan. The strike price of both legs is now 4 times above the stock price. Obviously there are no buyers for it, I lost all money in that not much though ($2500). I have traded this stock several times so there is wash sale. I have sold everything on this stock except this spread that I don't know how to get rid of.

I am thinking of exercising the long leg, and buy the short leg. But that would mean I will have to exercise and get the stocks, then sell them immediately, and also end the short leg. But I need to have enough money in the account.

    Any better suggestions?

    【Pre-market Analysis】November 24th

    Posted: 24 Nov 2021 07:42 AM PST

The Dow saw ups and downs earlier Tuesday, and surged to a day high near the end of the trading, closing nearly 200 points higher. Tech stocks under pressure dragged the Nasdaq down 1.6% once, which narrowed significantly at the market close. Oil and gas stocks, and bank stocks climbed against the market trend, while pandemic stocks, takeout stocks and silver stocks led the decline. Battery stocks once strong saw quick declines in a continuous manner, panicking the market. However, the market depth is actually improving; industries with large business cycle such as bank, energy and basic materials are continuously climbing upon the end of adjustment. Due to differences in positions, people have quite different sensations towards the market. As the long weekend approaches, mid-to long-term investors would better have a rest.
