How to Negotiate with Alibaba Supplier

    Posted: 24 Nov 2021 11:47 PM PST

Any tips or tricks for trying to get a lower price? We sell sporting equipment and have been using the same Alibaba supplier for a few years. We like the products they provide but we think that we can get a better price. How can we go about this without offending them? Any tricks to get the lowest price possible? There is a language barrier due to them being Chinese so all communication has been through email. Thanks!

Experience with box truck and lift gate?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2021 03:32 AM PST

I'm thinking of upgrading from a pickup truck and trailer to a box truck with a lift gate but wanted to know if they are more trouble then they are worth if they break down a lot etc.

Any input would be appreciated as this would be a big purchase for my business.

    Thank you!

Survey about how you find and interact with small businesses

    Posted: 24 Nov 2021 11:52 PM PST

Hi! I'm a small business owner and I'm currently working on developing next year's marketing strategy. I kind of just wanted to touch base with as many people as possible about how they generally find, interact with, etc small businesses. I don't plan on publishing the results unless other small business owners want me to, since it was created for personal use. Any responses on it would be greatly appreciated! Anyways, here is the link to the survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfX8twwrs9T91NGRbf7yRHB4bNMGQP0i3GbsjuEGIhowAh3AA/viewform?usp=sf_link

    Guidance on splits needed

    Posted: 24 Nov 2021 11:36 PM PST

    Hey everyone,

I am in transportation. I am looking to expand, and I have been solicited to let others invest with me. My biggest problem is the split. I don't need to keep 50% of the company, but I will be the one managing the company ( I have been running a truck for 2 years, to learn the ropes - specialized dedicated transportation ).

I thought to keep 25% and the 75% to split between investors. Main goal is 10 trucks within 1 year ( I already bought 2 more so I have 3 now ). Those remaining 7 trucks will cost approximately 200k. Each truck brings monthly without interruption ( except maybe driver vacation ) from minimum $5k to max $10k NET. I always calculate the minimum profit. 200k split by say $10k each means I need 20 investors@3.75% eaxh. 10 trucks x$5k/month = $50k/month net. 25%=$12500 and 75% means 37500 and that means $1406.25/investor/month. Each year would earn investors a total of $16875.

Questions: - is a 3.75% a realistic percentage - what else am I missing - how long to stretch until buy-out? - how to word a firm buy-out

Thank you in advance for your advice
