Germany to legalize recreational cannabis [ARTICLE] Posted: 24 Nov 2021 09:51 AM PST
What are you thoughts on North American companies with cannabis trade to Germany already in place for medical marijuana, like TLRY? Are they going to up the demand a little more as they legalize, or potentially block them out in favor of German-owned growhouses? [link] [comments] |
In-depth Technical Analysis of Bitcoin for 2022 (parody) Posted: 24 Nov 2021 10:44 AM PST Evident of Bitcoin's prominent three-fork uptrend is that the RSI's oscillators have neared 0 indicating a new bottom could be formed on the 4th wave. Breaking through this roof could indicate a bullish uptrend that would also agree with the ichimoku clouds indicators that have shown a high plotted 6 month average. As obvious in the recent bullish downward trend we can see that a morning star is evident. This is also alluded to in the fibonacci retracement level of 62.50 and the 13th parallel has crossed on the MACD. The price bounced from the support zone 3 and on track to smash one of the downtrend lines. MACD supports a new upward movement on mercury. But we can get a trend reversal signal, only if the price breaks the main downtrend line. We can use pythagorus's theorem to calculate the breakout for entry in the market and buy above the all time high of the signal candle. As a variant we can use newtons third law to place pending orders above the local swing high and the downtrend line, it's double handstand doji bullish signal hammer level. Stop orders can be placed on the tropic of Capricorn on the 17th wave with profit targets being 3.00 and 20000.00 resistance levels. The continuation of trade volume should be left for long run into 2022. (Not financial advice) [link] [comments] |
Dividend ETF for 30s investor? Posted: 24 Nov 2021 06:39 AM PST Can someone please clarify this for me? Wealthfront has me invested in dividends stocks (SCHD) at some nominal percentage (maybe 10% of portfolio) for a taxable account. I had read a post the other day where someone had commented, "why are you investing in dividend ETFs, are you retired?" Is this a consideration? Should I not be in dividend yielding ETFs unless I'm in retirement? Background: only about 20% of my portfolio is in WF and I manage everything else myself. I just get $40k managed free there and they do tax loss harvesting well. So I'm really wondering if I should be more in on dividend ETFs in my other taxable accounts or prioritizing more toward like VTI (which I'm heavily in as well). TL;DR: are higher dividend yielding ETFs like SCHD worth holding for a younger investor? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Nov 2021 02:19 AM PST Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy breakthroughs in cancer immunotherapy in the last decade have made CAR T cells one of the most promising fields for cancer therapies. There are dozens of emerging partnerships out there between big Pharma and specialists in the area. The use of autologous T-cells (a patient's own) has various limitations. Advances in Allogeneic or "off-the-shelf," CAR T cells give scale, quality and consistency benefits that make them promising commercial candidates. Fate Therapeutics (FATE) is one of the mkt leaders that entered into a partnership with J&J last year, using a proprietary iPSC product platform for the genetic engineering of pluripotent cells for off-the-shelf cancer therapies with a host of applications: [link] [comments] |
Buy individual stocks or add to index funds? Posted: 24 Nov 2021 09:35 AM PST I have a decent amount of money I want to further invest. I've been thinking about buying individual stocks for my portfolio. However I'm trying to decide if I should do that or just take that same money and add it the index funds I already have (VTSAX/VTIAX). If I buy stocks I might create an account with Fidelity since I hear they're the best for stocks. The goal is to hold long term so I'd probably just buy into stocks like Tesla, Apple, Amazon, etc Edit: Thanks for the advise. Guess I'll just stick to the index. Was kinda leaning that way anyways [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Nov 2021 11:22 PM PST Hey guys, In a hypothetical situation, lets just say you are in your 20's and you have 100k USD sitting on the side and that's it. You have your typical living expenses such as food and rent but you have a steady job that completely covers that every single month. What would be the best strategy/approach to maximize long-term gains in this scenario? What percent of your total money would you have invested in stocks (lets say index funds, primarily VTI for example) vs what percentage would you store in your bank/savings account? What would you do in this situation and why? How much of the total cash stack would you have invested at once and what strategies/approaches would you use to maximize long-term gain without taking an incredible amount of risk? Let's just say you do not need the money anytime soon and plan on holding for the long-term, especially through volatile times. Curious on what you guys all think [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Nov 2021 09:56 PM PST Today I bought shares in something that I didn't already have shares in. The brokerage fees were $10, and since owning the shares, the value of the investment went up by $19. So it stands to reason that it should show my P&L being $19, or $10 if it takes into account brokerage costs. But it's showing -$2 dollars. Does anyone have any idea why? What do the stock holder get out of a short agreement with a short seller? Posted: 24 Nov 2021 09:37 AM PST I understand how short sellers make money when shorting, but I need to know the motivation behind the people they beg against, and what they get out of it. A simple scenario is written below. Mr A is a short seller, and Mr B is a stockholder who engages with Mr A. I want to know what Mr B gets out of the short. Mr A is a short seller. He wants to short Company X stock. He enters a short position with Mr B, who owns lots of the stock. Mr A borrows 200,000 shares, it is currently trading @ $340/share. Mr A thinks the stock will tank to $2/share in time for reasons. Mr A sells off the borrowed shares for $68 mil (200,000 shares * $340) in proceeds. Time passes, the stock price doesn't go down. Mr A is panicking, his short assumption backfired. The stock is double @ $640/share. Mr A now has to exit his short and re-buy the 200,000 shares to give back to Mr B. He ends up paying $128 mil (200,000 * $640), and Mr A is taking a loss of $60 mil ($68 mil - $128 mil) Mr B gets his 200,000 shares of stock back. But what did he gain from this? He lent out his shares, he gets his shares back. His shares are worth more now. But what advantages are there for people like Mr B to engage in these short bets? [link] [comments] |

Tianyancha App shows that recently, China Evergrande New Energy Automobile Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd. has undergone industrial and commercial changes, and its registered capital has increased from approximately US$2.515 billion to US$3.5 billion, an increase of approximately 39%. Open Interest on WKHS 1/21/22 60c Posted: 24 Nov 2021 09:53 AM PST Anyone have a possible explanation for why the open interest on 1/21/22 WKHS 60c is so high? Currently sitting at 11,000+ open interest for that specific strike price. It actually looks like open interest is high for strike prices that are multiples of 5. Is there a reason for this and is it an indication of something? I noticed the same thing happened with GME for 1/15/21 30c and on 1/15/21, GME closed at $35. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Nov 2021 05:12 AM PST I came across a post in r/stocks yesterday (here it is: https://www.reddit.com/r/stocks/comments/r0d01y/us_to_release_oil_from_reserves_in_coordination/) relating to everything I put in the title. If you are already well versed in this area of investing, you already know what is going on most likely. I currently own 15 BP shares and over 390 shares of CLR. I am contemplating selling all of them before the end of the week. Why should investors like me stay in this field - in all honesty the more research we do it appears the best thing to do is sell and buy into other sectors that do even better in high inflation times (i.e. real estate, energy (besides oil/gas such as solar), etc...).
