    Posted: 23 Nov 2021 11:46 AM PST

I fully understand that those 2 thing are not connected. But which certifications can help with that?

Now working on CIMA and it seems really practical (at least for a student)

    Licensing agreements, the basics?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2021 11:37 AM PST

    Hello!

I am working on a brand and wish to reach out to certain companies for permission to use their logo(s) and/or patterns to print merchandise.

Can someone help shed light on the type of licensing agreement I will need to draft up and what is considered a "good/proper" percentage/fee?

    Thank you!

Is it better to hire delivery drivers or rely on delivery apps?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2021 11:34 AM PST

I'm thinking about getting a franchise at a fast food restaurant and was thinking about hiring insiders then using delivery apps like Postmates, Uber eats, GrubHub... To get food delivered so i could spend a little more to pay the insiders and make more of a profit by not having to pay delivery drivers.

Lifetime freemium for early adopters. A new idea for education

    Posted: 23 Nov 2021 02:39 PM PST

Hey there. We are a young startup, and we noticed a problem in the process of teaching students. It seems challenging to store and organize data, notes, etc., in one place.

We are making a product in which students can store all their study materials. And quickly dumb your thoughts turning them into beautiful documents.

If you are experiencing the same problem, please leave some comments.

We don't sell or advertise anything but want to figure out how to make a valuable product for education.

How to create an awesome video (or picture) ads to sell sunglasses?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2021 08:47 AM PST

    Hey guys

Could you give me a hint about how to make really good ads?

I'm running an e-commerce focused on men's fashion and our main products are sunglasses.

We're having a bit of a hard time making good creatives that really get the attention of the viewer. How would you develop video ads (or picture) for sunglasses?

The main purpose is the conversion itself.

Exemple of previous videos that I've used before: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1uSuTUR7aI-jdh0xBCZQXdrK0CtCt1rjj?fbclid=IwAR33qsIt77Y4hlAEvshLGyW80Vemn38Ux0hYFE_16z9boWVgkbFXPXB7_30

How Bumble founder became the youngest self-made female billionaire

    Posted: 23 Nov 2021 07:40 AM PST

Bumble, the female-first dating app, went public earlier this year. The business is valued at an estimated $13 billion, and it's certainly a unique platform and business model. What's even more impressive is that Bumble's founder, Whitney Wold Herd, is both the youngest self-made female billionaire and the youngest woman to take a company public. Especially considering she started her business journey selling tote bags.
Here's a very brief breakdown of how she went from tote bags to founding a billion-dollar dating app:

    • First, she an initiative called the Help Us Project, selling bamboo tote bags to benefit areas damaged by the 2010 BP oil spill
    • After getting a taste for entrepreneurship, she started a platform called Cardify. This was a platform to help retailers award customers with loyalty solutions. It never took off.
    • Her Cardify business partner (Sean Rad) has been working on a prototype of Tinder, then called MatchBox. Wolf Herd came up with the name Tinder, and they launched the app in 2012. Wolf Herd was appointed the VP of marketing at 22 years old.
    • The environment at Tinder became toxic for Wolf Herd, so she left the app in 2014 and sued it for sexual harassment. The case was settled, and she won $1 million and stocks as part of the agreement.
    • She started developing a female-only social media platform called Merci. This idea resulted from her experiences with Tinder.
    • Wolf Herd partnered up with Badoo founder Andrey Andreev after she told him about her idea. Andreev convinced her to start in the area both of them knew best: online dating. This is how Bumble was created.
    • Bumble was launched in 2014 as a dating app that empowers women. The platform quickly grew in popularity.

Today Bumble is worth an estimated $13 billion. At only 31 years old, Whitney Wolf Herd has gained a net worth of 1.3 billion.

What do you think of this business journey?

    Fashion Archive

    Posted: 23 Nov 2021 06:58 AM PST

I've had a dream of collecting and curating a fashion archive for years. Basically collecting rare and important vintage fashion pieces. Is there any way to make a business out of this? It's very unrealistic to collect as a side hobby because it can get expensive.

    Rental profit question

    Posted: 23 Nov 2021 09:33 AM PST

The question is: is rental profit above inflation?

I mean, the main cost of a house (eg) is increasing by inflation rate. Then it means that profit from rental I get - is real profit?

Example: Inflation rate - 4% Annual rental profit - 4% It means total profit I get is 8% annually? 4% above inflation?

Sorry for maybe a stupid question:)

Self-employed biller with secondary dispatching job

    Posted: 23 Nov 2021 08:57 AM PST

Hello. I am currently self-employed, working on a 1099 in billing field. I am making around $42k/year. A CPA who I've been working stated that it will not be any beneficial to start a business yet but to work as sole proprietor until my income gets above $50k. I have a dedicated home office and I am working remotely. I have enough time to look for a secondary job so my friend who is a trucker asked me to be his dispatcher. He offered that I work under his company on a 1099 but I am not sure if that would be good enough in my case.

Would you recommend opening an LLC or S Corp and getting two DBA's for the billing and dispatching? Or would it be better to have two separate companies?

Or maybe I should still leave it as is and start with working under his company?

Just to add, I am looking to get a mortgage soon which would require 2 year of being self-employed, not sure if the timer resets once I change my business structure.

    Thank you!
