    Respond, don’t predict

Is there any specific reason why SPY has taken a significant dip in the middle of each month since May, or is it mostly just coincidence? It's been right around the 15th-19th each month, though this time started a few days sooner.

Are you one of “everyone” who thinks a 10% correction or plunge is coming? I personally think this is an attempt to create a wave of panic sellers. That’s how “market correction” happens. Don’t be one of those.

    $TMC could be next big 1000% ???

Just wanted to share some thought on TMC otherwise known as the Metals company so let me give you a small background on them

They produce metals from polymetallic rocks to power electric vehicles. For over a decade, they have been exploring the planet's largest known deposit of battery-grade metals: nodules on the seafloor of the Clarion Clipperton Zone in the Pacific Ocean. During this time, their onshore team has developed and successfully run a metallurgical process to derive key battery metals from these remarkable rocks while generating zero solid processing waste.

This company will be indispensable for auto makers out there as well the development of the world when it comes to going electrical, Batteries not only power cars but homes, buildings, air and sea equipment etc.

Technical speaking we are holding above EMA 100, 50 and 9 Periods well. Currently looking at $12 resistance.

    Question regarding buying calls.

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 02:02 PM PDT

I'm fairly new to the world of options trading and have been sticking to selling covered calls or buying cash covered puts. I've got a handle on that and have bought a few calls but I'm a little confused about executing them come expiration.

Assuming I purchase ABC 9/17 calls for $25 strike price.

9/17 rolls around and the price is $30 a share, great!

In this case do I need to have $2500 available to "buy" the shares at the strike price only to sell them for the current $30 price or is there a way to execute the trade so I just collect $500 without having to spend 2500 to get 3000?

Win or Loose from, fact remains, Do not use media as your primary source of information. This shouldn’t’ve happened, if the media like Bloomberg did their research to validate this from Walmart before broadcasting it. They are always quick to be the first to publish regardless of true or false.

Did Alibaba's Ant just got a leg cut off? (BABA, FXI, EWH )

Did BABA's Ant just got its leg cut off?

Chinese technology shares fell once again Monday on the latest moves from Beijing to reshape online businesses.

Traders mulled a report that the government intends to break up Ant Group Co.'s Alipay business, a Friday statement calling for better protection of gig economy workers' rights and latest warning against blocking links to rival services. The Hang Seng Tech Index finished 2.3% lower, with Meituan, Alibaba Group Holding and Tencent Holdings Ltd. the biggest drags on the gauge.

China is seeking to break up Ant Group Co.'s Alipay and create a separate app for its loan business, the Financial Times reported, citing people familiar with the plan. Regulators have already ordered the company to separate the back end of the lending unit from the rest of its financial offerings and bring in outside shareholders, it said.

(Alipay lending is a very profitable part of the business. And the outside investors to be brought in will be back by the government.)

Chinese authorities have asked Internet firms to rectify wrongdoings at several gatherings in recent weeks, though have held back from heavy-handed curbs like the shock ban on profits at tutoring companies in late July.

The country's top technology regulator warned internet firms on Monday against blocking links to rival services, reaffirming Beijing's order for online giants from Tencent to ByteDance Ltd. to dismantle walls around their platforms.

Source Bloomberg. The story originally broke on Financial Times.

BABA is down 27.8% ytd. The Hang Seng Tech gauge is down 22% so far this year, though has rebounded about 12% from an August low.

Is there a trade here? Discussion very much welcomed.

BABA down 37% in 1 yr
