    Covid excuse is getting old.

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 07:21 PM PDT

How long are companies going to use COVID as an excuse for their failures? Shipment late, sorry it's because of Covid, Shitty service sorry covid, anything that's not up to par is blamed on covid. I call bullshit.

Employee participation through shares / partnership tracks

    Posted: 14 Sep 2021 01:49 AM PDT

For a client, I am researching the options for employee participation through shares. He thinks a model like the big lawfirms and some consulancy firms have it with partnership tracks should be a good option. I have a hard time finding details on how these companies do it, however.

Are there people out there who can point me to resources detailing (some of) these features?

    • Levels of partnership (i.e. Junior partner, Equity partner, Voting partner)
    • Examples of bylaws
    • Requirements for making partner, voting regimes
    • Details on bonus structures (personal billability, billability of department, overall turnover of company)

I am looking to get as much information as possible in order to very specifically task a law firm to work out a couple of scenarios. So books, blogs, legal texts (like example bylaws) or just pointers where I could find such information would be of great help. I'm not looking to hiere a firm for now.

Your Network Is Your Net Worth... How I Started Working In SEO

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 07:31 PM PDT

When I first started in SEO I didn't have much experience and often times when applying for local SEO jobs many companies would turn me away for that exact reason. It was a little frustrating as the only way to gain experience was through working at a company, and companies didn't want to hire you as they felt you needed experience. It was almost as if I was stuck in an infinite loop and the SEO world just wanted to keep me away; however, I decided if nobody wanted to offer me experience I would instead go out and create opportunities for myself and start my own business.

At the time I wasn't an LLC or an official business, and I wouldn't even be able to tell you where to even begin; however, I decided to completely submerge myself in the SEO world and network with as many groups and professionals as I could. Overtime we began to build relationships and they would start to send me small jobs in order to help me get by. I ended doing those small task like link building, internal SEO fixes, and even just fixing broken citations. After about a year of doing these jobs I decided it was time to start my own SEO agency and help clients grow their businesses.

I now currently run a somewhat successful small SEO business as I work with a few small service businesses that have been happy with the results they've gotten with some ranking on the first page and others on their way to doing so. I love my job and what I do everyday but the reason for this post is that I never forgot all those other agencies who helped me get started and if there's anyone out there on the fence or struggling with their SEO business just know that opportunities are out there and you just have to keep pushing and networking with others as they too experienced that pain of starting a business, and sometimes you'll be doing small things and that's okay because it's all apart of the bigger picture.

Grew way too fast! Need help!

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 10:00 PM PDT

Let me start I own a small medical billing company. I grew by 13 clients in 5 months. (Currently have 15 clients). I'm a medical biller. I have a part time employee. I'm concerned I may took on too many clients and now there is ALOT of work I'm not sure that myself and my employee can achieve on our own. I want to hire another employee but worried that I won't have enough money. (Billers are expensive $20-$35 per hour)

I need a business mentor. Someone to help me break money down… someone who can help me figure if I need to change my pricing or if I need a business loan… I am so lost and stressing out. What did you use to help you figure out your business amounts? The volume of work is becoming a lot but I also want to make sure I can pay my bills as well.

Is MUPO Entertainment a pyramid scheme?

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 09:00 PM PDT

    Hello all,

I have a friend who recently got involved with Mupo Entertainment after seeing it advertised on Facebook. They say they are production company that works for Netflix, HBO, etc but when I look around their site it's nothing but vague claims, no details and links to some really weird youtube videos. My friend had to put down a good bit of money to get into this and now I'm worried he's gotten into a pyramid scheme. Does anyone have any real information about this group? Thank you

Advice on strategy for a business plan to open up an overseas office

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 12:58 PM PDT

For commercially sensitive reasons I'd like to keep some details relatively vague on purpose.

I work for a consultancy in the UK and have a strong hand in the business development side of things, including tendering, establishing new connections with clients and marketing. We're a small but fast growing enterprise and recently been bought out by a larger Scandinavian company. My goal is to convince my directors the feasibility and market potential of opening a NZ office, with myself and a colleague who's technically strong, experienced and most importantly wants to do it also! Where on earth should I start in terms of market research? What key points should I be putting forward to my bosses when I eventually present my proposal?

Which business has the Best Net Zero plan? (preferably UK based)

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 08:55 AM PDT

Doing some research on businesses who have committed to net zero by 2030. However, even though quite a few businesses have committed to achieving it there appears to be very few who actually have a detailed plan on how they are going to get there1

Can anyone share with me any businesses (of any size and any industry) who have released a detailed/actionable plan on how net zero can actually be achieved! Preferably a UK based business....

Many thanks in advance everyone :)
