AMZN Q1 earnings EPS: $15.79 vs. $9.54 Posted: 01 May 2021 11:24 AM PDT Still couldn't find amazon post in this sub, wanted to discuss. These are amazing numbers. It has been consolidating in this range for past 7 months. Ready to shoot up and find new base. Shares went up almost 5% after hours and strangely closed red on Friday. EPS: $15.79 vs. $9.54 expected Revenue: $108.52B vs. $104.47B expected Outside NA growth almost doubled and also increased their guidance for next quarter Aggregated price target is now raised to $4100 and highest being $5500. some more info In 2020, Amazon invested heavily on coronavirus-related measures like safety protocols and wage increases for front-line workers. As a result of these costs, Amazon last quarter forecast operating income of $3 billion to $6.5 billion in the current period. Those coronavirus-related costs are expected to slow this year, although on Wednesday, Amazon said it would spent more than $1 billion on pay raises for more than half a million of its U.S. operations workers. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/29/amazon-amzn-earnings-q1-2021.html [link] [comments] |

I really need help if anybody could Posted: 02 May 2021 12:19 AM PDT hello guys, I have a project which is relative valuation for UBER stock. what are stocks that I should compare UBER to? and I am using the P/B ratio since this company has negative earnings and hence I cant use ratios such as P/E, is that the correct choice? The project is about a stock (UBER) and I have to value it in more than one way. I did the DCF, now I'm stuck with the relative valuation method. On finviz.com UBER is listed as a software - application company, but what I know is that it's a transportation company, so, what companies should I compare UBER to? As I said I'm using P/B ratio, do you guys think it's the right choice? Thank you all for your help I would really appreciate it. [link] [comments] |
Good idea to keep cash in Money Market for 'dry powder'/DCA? Posted: 01 May 2021 07:04 AM PDT Read this article from The NY Times a few days ago and started to wonder about my strategy of keeping cash (50-150k) in a money market fund to move to the SP500 as dollar cost averaging and/or as 'dry powder' in case of larger swings. I had followed my CPAs advice a while back to use Money Market Funds in place of HYSA as the tax benefits are better for the former? Appreciate thoughts on those who keep some amount of cash in similar vehicles. [edit 5/1 3:47pm - this is not a timing the market post/question. Sorry as it appears to have come out that way. It's a question of where you store cash that you intend to put in market but want to keep liquid so can pull out in case of unexpected expenses. Call it an emergency fund or whatever. I thought Money Market fund was the answer but the article seems to argue these aren't as low risk as I thought] https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/23/business/economy/money-market-funds-reform.html [link] [comments] |

Should I have sold my Chinese stocks? Posted: 01 May 2021 09:03 PM PDT Does any have advice regarding stocks like Lenovo, JD.com, Baidu, Alibaba, etc? It's not that I think that China is a bad country; however, I am a little worried about the current geopolitical atmosphere in the country. I made a quick video explaining my opinion, just wondering if anyone else feels the same. Please not hate speech. I just want people's honest opinion of the stock market in China :) [link] [comments] |
