What approach has worked better for you: Lower Prices with higher MOQs or Higher Prices with lower MOQs?

    Posted: 02 May 2021 01:16 AM PDT

I'm a wholesaler of agricultural goods in our country and I've been using social media to my advantage for quite some time now—setting up ads and campaigns to boost up my sales and market preference. To be fair my ads (not a marketing pro), have done well for me since I've gained a handful of new and regular customers for my business, but after reviewing it I feel like it needs some improvement still.

I've received a lot of messages and inquiries from the ads I put up,(way higher that what I expected) but I've only converted some. Most of them have only asked for my my price-list and never got back. I was wondering maybe they thought my prices are quite higher than the others, but comparing my business to most of my competitors, I actually offer the lowest MOQ.

I'm planning to change my approach now (increase my MOQ and lower my prices to the maximum), but I'd be glad to hear your thoughts first about this.

I know this is too much to ask from you guys, but I'll be really grateful to any help I can get.

Please help me decide which of these schools to go to as an undergraduate marketing major!

    Posted: 01 May 2021 11:04 AM PDT

For context, I'm majoring in marketing, and neither of these schools are in state for me.

I am south asian and kinda care a lot about diversity even though neither of these schools are diverse, but I just want to be in an accepting environment.

Indiana University (Kelley School of Business)

    IU Pros:

    • Well-ranked
    • Good alumni network
    • From what I've heard, it sets you up pretty well for a career
    • Nice campus
    • Far from home

    IU Cons:

    • Not diverse
    • Kinda big state school vibes (I'm worried I won't fit in)
    • Expensive

    University of Pittsburgh

    U Pitt Pros:

    • In a city
    • Decent business school
    • More affordable
    • A little closer to home (not by a lot)

    U Pitt Cons:

    • Not as highly ranked as Indiana
    • Has a smaller alumni network
    • Doesn't really have a campus
    • Not diverse

I will not take out loans for either of these schools, but I'm just not sure if IU Kelley is worth the extra 10k a year.

Joining ownership of a new small business

    Posted: 01 May 2021 07:21 AM PDT

I have been asked to be a joint owner of a newly established small business (wine bar and market). The current owner has invested a fair of amount of money (about 15k) into renovations of the building, refrigerators, and merchandizing equipment. Initial inventory hasn't been purchased yet.

What should be expected of me coming into this business? Can the business ownership be split 50/50? What kind of questions should I be asking? Do I need a business lawyer to draw up the private ownership contracts?

I have been in small and large scale food industry business management for about 15 years now, but this is my first experience with ownership.

    Ramentalk as a read-to-cook business

    Posted: 01 May 2021 02:50 AM PDT

I recently had Ramentalk and thought it tasted really good. I was thinking why they are so successful and who are their competitors. What are their challenges and risks?

Does anyone have any further thoughts on this and can share?
