Is this useful? Search for which companies have X as a publicly stated problem Posted: 03 Nov 2019 08:42 AM PST I have a mining tool that can analyze hundreds of public statements, posts, 10K, financial calls to create a database of companies and their current publicly stated problems. You should be able to search with keywords, location etc. Example: Companies which are concerned about "churn" Prospect CEO: "Our main focus going forward is to reduce customer churn" [link] [comments] |
What is a Good Commission Sales | Is 60% Too Much? Posted: 03 Nov 2019 08:54 AM PST Hi there - I am about launching a new service and I am looking for partners that can be re-sellers. The cost of the Service is $1000 + $100 monthly management fees. Have a look below the draft proposal:
The partner gets the money after the client has made the payment. Is the proposal appealing? If anyone has an alternative tested strategy, please share it. [link] [comments] |

Being in sales during a recession Posted: 02 Nov 2019 07:14 PM PDT I think we all agree a recession is inevitable. However, how does that effect our careers in sales? Can anyone speak to their experience during '08? what are everyone's thoughts as we gear up for a recession? [link] [comments] |
Switching To Inside Sales (Where to begin?) Posted: 03 Nov 2019 06:14 AM PST Hi all, Since graduating from college, I currently work as a real estate salesperson in an upscale town in Massachusetts. The job is cool and I work with family, but the field is extremely saturated. Barring a big sale, I would probably only be looking at 40k or so for the next few years, until I can take over the family business. I actually helped increase sales from 15-45m during my first year and had a company high conversation ratio on cold calls, but we were using an archaic formula and no software (Essentially calling from a phonebook). The dilemma is that I have essentially learned 90% of what I need to know. Also, due to my age, there is very little room for advancement. I find the job easy, and only work 10-15 hours a week, but I know my hustle/skillset could be better used in sales. I recently found out about the complex world of inside sales and have been applying via AngelList. So far, a bunch of companies have reached out to me, but they only pay commission. I have no issue with this, but their products appear kind of lousy. A few others did reach out, but they do not pay commission and only offer a base similar or less to what I am making now. I like pitching people. I have actually worked for a number of political candidates (I actually ran for public office myself too), and have no problem knocking on doors, cold calling etc. But, I do not have much experience. So, my idea is to make the switch to inside sales for a few years and gain practical experience, which I can either bring back to real estate when it is time, or simply continue if I find success. Is this a good idea? How should I approach this with the goal of finding a suitable company? Thank you [link] [comments] |

Seeking info on Biosense Webster CAS position Posted: 03 Nov 2019 10:50 AM PST Hello! I am a med device rep, and have been contacted about a CAS role with Biosense Webster, who is a J&J company. I can't find any third party info on the job, only what I get from the official website and the recruiter so far. I was wondering if anyone here knows anything about their comp packages? Thanks! What CRM can I create automated sequences for touches? Posted: 03 Nov 2019 05:15 AM PST I'm looking to create automated sequences for follow up ie, email, call, linkedin engagement DAY 1 - email, call DAY 2. .. Ideally I'd be able to import contacts, and set the automated sequence to at least remind me each day what we need to do with what contact. Hope that makes sense? We're a small agency, do not sf or anything like that. [link] [comments] |
What are the best resources for learning sales (2019) ? Posted: 03 Nov 2019 03:00 AM PST Hey folks, I'm new to the world of sales and am looking for resources which I can use to learn sales. Thanks Shazam P.S thank you for your time :) [link] [comments] |

The art of breaking bad news as part of the sales pitch. Posted: 02 Nov 2019 02:07 PM PDT Right now I'm doing internet sales with a focus on rural, undeserved areas and specifically satellite internet. That means a lot of my job is telling people that they don't have cable internet available. Satellite has come a long way, but the fact is they are still going to have to pay almost twice as much for a service that is a 1/4th the speed and with major restrictions for gaming and VPNs. The best clients I have are ones who are moving to their dreamhome in the middle of nowhere, yet were likely spoiled by city internet. I've been doing this for a month now and I've had a lot of success being upfront about it. I don't downtalk the product, but first I explain why they don't have cable internet and part of my pitch is addressing the downsides, while also assuring them it can still do several important things well (like streaming even with the data caps). Price is a major concern obviously, so I've started telling people that one of the downsides is that it costs more before I even mention a price. It isn't like I can hide price, so I figure the best strategy is to just get in front of it. Do any of you work with a similar product? One that is objectively worse than the baseline that most people are used to, yet is still the customers best option? [link] [comments] |

What are some effective ways to get better results from cold email marketing? Posted: 02 Nov 2019 09:56 PM PDT As I wrote on a thread yesterday, I provide consulting services to businesses (communications and writing). I haven't prospected in a while and am about to embark upon a round of it. My typical outreach method "stack" consists of a business database (say Crunchbase), Hunter, and template-based emails from my CRM. Is there something I could do to increase the effectiveness of this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Nov 2019 04:09 PM PDT I've been recommended some books for B2B or complex sales, and wanted to see if anyone recommended any others or had experience of SPIN selling (Rackham) or Strategic Selling (Miller & Heiman) [link] [comments] |
Effective Cold Calling Methods in my industry? Posted: 02 Nov 2019 07:33 PM PDT I work as a technical sales advisor selling custom optical components to a variety of companies across the US, Canada, and South America. My customer base has been strong since starting in July, but management is having us do a bit of cold calling in the next couple of weeks. They say that they goal is to "find the right contact" that we shouldn't focus on selling, which I agree with. We have a software that has leads of companies who viewed our website and what they looked at, so we have access to the company main number. When I start my calls on Tuesday, what are some effective ways of just getting the name of a person who might know what products they use without coming off as "Sales-y"? I'm a little nervous but could use some new business to get to my target by the end of the year. [link] [comments] |
