Does anyone else feel like they are operating outside of reality? Posted: 05 Oct 2019 08:07 AM PDT Sometimes i wake up and look out my window and see everyone going about their day. Yet here i am just waking up about to have my coffee before i head into my home office. Frankly when the rest of the world has started their daily tasks already i am just waking up. I have my breakfast, then do my first bit of work for the day checking in with my virtual assistants etc to make sure everything is working as normal. Once my work is done in an hour or 2 i then head to the gym down my street, only to find it empty then i realise everyone is at work and i cant expect to find a human beign in the gym at 1:45pm on a weekday. Even grocery shopping literally mostly empty when i go. Roads are empty cause obviously its not rush hour when all the cars are everywhere at exactly the same time. Its like we live outside the matrix. I'm not complaining but sometimes i think about the absurdity of breaking free and life outside the realms of whats "normal" How do you others cope with it? You want to be filthy rich? Solve this problem. Posted: 04 Oct 2019 07:43 PM PDT I'm about to throw $10k+ worth of stuff into a landfill because I absolutely can't deal with craigslist/offerup/FB marketplace/letgo people for 1 second longer. I'm moving across the country and getting rid of a 4 bedroom house worth of really nice stuff for 10% of what I paid. I was just ghosted for the 8th time this week. Also: NO I won't take 7 more photos NO I won't deliver free furniture all the way across town NO I can't guarantee that this product will work exactly as you want. It's $20, lady. NO I won't hold it until you get paid next Friday NO I'm not interested in letting you come try it out first and then decide if you like it Seriously who are these people? Who was time and motivation to do this? And EVERYONE has these terrible experiences. Someone make a buy/sell app that somehow filters out the 90% of walmart shopping mouth breathers who haunt the usual apps. Build a rep system or something that works like ebay. I will be your first customer and sing your praises. [link] [comments] |
Customers will be as needy as you let them become Posted: 05 Oct 2019 05:46 AM PDT I'm not promoting poor customer service or unprofessionalism. But the customer isn't always right and it doesn't always make sense to bend over backwards for them. It's all about managing what is expected and what you will tolerate. If you take the lashings and turnaround work on unbelievable timelines they'll expect it every time. If they mess up an order and they know they can get their way by harassing you they'll do it every time. If they lean on you to solve stupid problems that aren't in your scope and you solve them every time they'll call you more and more often. If you answer emails on Sunday evening they'll send you emails on Saturday night. The list goes on and on and on. They'll take what they can get and they'll take what you give. Draw the line somewhere. Fire the customers that are generating 80% of your headache and only 20% of your revenue. Fire the customers that are selfish and don't respect you. Or better yet - tell them what can be expected and what can't and they'll fall in line with everyone else. Hang out with us at r/sweatystartup if you like this kind of thing! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Oct 2019 02:17 PM PDT I met a girl that works for Louis Vuitton (lvmh group) and she says that they usually do parties for their top clients. I have a small budget for Valentine's Day and Easter/garden parties. I wanted to A/B test the Valentine's Day parties in form of product launch events . I also thought of creating a marketing campaign for Easter for companies that are part of the best place to work list. I checked my competitors and they don't necessarily do summer parties . Just parties. I also want to organise seminars for huge companies. Those are the 6 figure contracts (so the most interesting ). I don't know how to approach them. Shall I include them in the "garden party" campaign or do a separate campaign for them ? They usually celebrate anniversaries but sometimes it's annual events. Sorry if my message isn't too clear. But my top goal is : organise seminars as those are the huge contracts. What kind of campaign shall I make ? Middle size goal: garden parties for "best places to work companies". The money is good from 200 people. Below 100 is to small (16k or so) Lower goal: organise launch products for beauty companies. I'm thinking that instead of reaching one brand like benefits. I should reach brands that work with all the brands like Sephora, Macy's etc so that they know what are the new products coming up. I don't think the money will be big here as the parties I see from my competitors seem to be small. But I need to stay busy and it would be great on my portfolio I think. I'm still new to this so I guess I need to keep on doing Ab testing to see how the market respond. What do you think ? [link] [comments] |
What credit card for a new LLC? Posted: 05 Oct 2019 03:06 PM PDT I own 2 rental properties that I want to transfer into my business. I'd like to eventually hold a new mortgage in the company name so I need to have some credit. Citizens told me that after having a business banking account for 6mo they'd issue me one, but it turns out the person who helped me was wrong because of the business type. I'm OK backing my CC personally if it doesn't remove the liability protection of the LLC. My spending on the cc will be minimal such as supplies for cleaning up between tenants and some home improvement work as needed. What should I apply for? Does the credit rating look at my credit or the business? The business is new as of Dec 18 and has no credit. I've looked here but I'm not sure what to pick. [link] [comments] |

How do I separate myself in a crowded market? Posted: 05 Oct 2019 12:38 PM PDT This is a general post and I welcome any and all comments. I've made a few posts in the past about starting this business up and I'm just looking for some Reddit community insight (I love you all). I'm starting my eCommerce business and the market is very crowded but definitely has room for more, and a lot of growth in the future. There's so many brands that have shitty websites, false claims, poor products, and claim they are the best. (This applies to most industries but in mine to an extreme degree) My product is incredible quality, fair pricing, will have better customer service, and I genuinely care. (Quality is very easy to grade and put a literal number to) How do I separate myself via messaging and website layout to expose others while showing how great my quality is. Some people are literally selling fake products and knockoffs but they have so many sales because people aren't educated. Nobody likes a website that says, "everyone else sucks, I'm better", but in this case it couldn't be more true. I'm going crazy with frustration! Ahhh what do I do? Would it be wrong to point out specific pain points and lack of quality in other brand's products on my website? Would it be wrong to call out the lack of knowledge in the market? Any insight would help! [link] [comments] |
Which domain name format should I use? Posted: 05 Oct 2019 12:30 PM PDT So I am about to buy a domain name for my new company, and of course the standard .com that I wanted is already taken. So I am trying to come up with a good alternative. To give you some context, we sell wireless earbuds, and for every pair sold, a portion is donated a wildlife charity. Which makes me think that I could use .org with no issues. Also the word "pods" is part of our main products name. Okay, so here are the options I'm looking at. Let me know what you think is the most memorable / professional. ExampleBrand.org ExampleBrandInc.com ExampleBrandPods.com I like and dislike all of them for different reasons. ".org" may be a good fit since our business helps support a charity, although I am worried about losing customers because they forget that it's a .org and not a .com. "Inc.com" may be a good option since all of our social media already uses inc in the usernames. But again, I am worried about losing customers because they may forget to put "inc." "Pods.com" I like because it is keyword rich and gives new customers a better idea of what our company actually sells. But I am worried that it may be less professional than the other two options. What do you all think? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Im 15 and I have $100 to invest Posted: 05 Oct 2019 01:00 AM PDT Im 15 and I watched all of Tai Lopez's videos and I'm an entrepreneur of Phase, an apparel line that dropships custom limited-edition apparel like supreme. Also I'm 15 and I'm also designing an app that's basically Uber for solar panels, but I can't talk about it. Anyways, after starting out with $500, I now have $100 to invest. I'm 15 . What would you do? I need to make $500k. I'm already reading Rich Dad Poor Dad and The Fundamentals of Corporate Finance and I'm 15. I appreciate all your advice even though I'm going to ignore 100% of it. Also I'm 15, so that makes me better than everyone essentially. I'm 15. [link] [comments] |
Huge demand for fake merchandise but no supply. Is this legal for me to do? Posted: 05 Oct 2019 12:02 PM PDT Is it legal to sell fake merchandise? Namely high end purses that look real. A lot of people in my area are wanting these items but no one sells them. The fact there is no local seller tells me it's illegal but I'm not sure. I can get lookalikes from places like Alibaba but before I even look into it I want to make sure I'm not going to get in trouble. Namely jail or lawsuits. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Edit: instead of replying to each comment I will put it here. You guys have given me a lot to think about and I appreciate the advice. Given that it is illegal or a "gray" area I won't take part in it. Thank you all for the quick responses. [link] [comments] |
Do any of you incorporate video / Youtube as part of your web promotion strategy? If so, how? Posted: 05 Oct 2019 06:57 AM PDT So I have been reading up on how one can promote their website, and it appears that Youtube is a far better method to promote one's website than Facebook. My question is: do any of you incorporate video / Youtube as part of your website and ecommerce advertising strategy? And if so, how? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Oct 2019 10:42 AM PDT Business leaders; are y'all seeing a downturn in ROI on Facebook? I have seen a DRAMATIC decrease ever since the two companies have restricted their data mining for advertisers. Just wondering if anyone has seen this also. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Oct 2019 01:53 AM PDT I've been doing a lot of research and was wanting to start selling peanut butter fudge on Etsy, but in my state (indiana) it seems like laws are very strict about selling online. I understand the reasonings for these laws but my recipe is very simple and just combines two pre packaged shelf stable products that have no risk of spoilage. I have physical and mental disabilities that keep me home bound so I can't sell locally and it seems I would need some kind of commercial kitchen if I want to sell online. I'm not sure what to do because making an LLC getting a commercial kitchen and getting insurance seems like an awful lot just for mixing two products together and selling them. [link] [comments] |
Business ideas in a tough environment Posted: 05 Oct 2019 10:04 AM PDT I live in a country where people do shit themselves, stuff like mow your lawn or clean your house has no chance of working. 18 Months Ago, I made the biggest Mistake of my Life Posted: 05 Oct 2019 09:33 AM PDT 18 Months ago, I made the biggest mistake of my professional career. I f*cked up. More than that, I am really scared to share this story here openly as I don't know how most of you will react, but regardless I still want to share because it can help save a lot of Founders who fall into the trap of people's sweet words. For me, everything went down the drain all because of one person. I started working on my dream project FunnelBake roughly two years ago. I met someone wrong who pushed me to launch FunnelBake on a lifetime deal when I was not even ready. The person pressurized into launching and showing me big dreams, and sadly, I fell for his trap. The software was unbaked and was not ready and the person knew, and yet he pushed me to launch the software. I didn't realize that I was about to make the biggest mistake of my life destroying my reputation because of that one person who simply collected his cheque, moved on and didn't give a F*ck about me or my project anymore. I never spoke about this openly until today as I was waiting for the right movement to share this story with the world. Right after that incident, I went into heavy depression which resulted in several health issues because I had never experienced such hate. I have worked my ass off for the last 13 years by being truly honest to my profession and everything that I have achieved so far. It was all hard work of several sleepless nights for so many years. I started making things right immediately and I am so proud to say that users who are using FunnelBake now are truly loving it and we are taking the platform to a whole new level next month when we will be releasing our CRM, the last part in FunnelBake v1 completing my 2-year-old dream and turning it into a reality. (I am so grateful for my team for making this happen for me). But meanwhile... I realized some people are cruel which made me wonder, how many other SaaS founders are going through the same because of such shitty people in the industry? That lead to the birth of my second ambitious project PitchGround. I told myself, I will never let any other SaaS founder suffer. What happened to me, will never happen to any other SaaS Founder. Some people simply don't give a f*ck about you since all they care about is their commission and they can go up to any extent to make money out of you. Being a SaaS founder myself, I can easily relate to the pain they are going through. Exactly one year ago, I decided to launch PitchGround with the motive to help SaaS Founders genuinely. In the very first year, PitchGround has helped SaaS companies raise over $1.1m in revenue. I want to truly thank every single person (PitchGrounder) who has been a part of this remarkable journey, supported, loved or hated me but was still there with me. More than that, I want to thank my amazing team who joined this journey and mission and PitchGround wouldn't have been truly PitchGround without them. I genuinely hope that my story can help all the SaaS founders and many people reading this post take a better decision in life. Don't rush, keep patience and do all your due diligence. Where to sell fresh web development leads? Posted: 05 Oct 2019 09:33 AM PDT I have over 10000 leads that contain the basics (name, billing address, email etc) and are SaaS based. Each lead also containes their current web products (seo, ppc, wordpress dev etc) and what they are paying (a lot of these leads are overpaying for shitty service). Where could I sell these and how much do you think they are worth? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 05 Oct 2019 08:43 AM PDT Im at a stage where my personal funding has run out and I'm considering going to a bank or looking for investors. I'm not sure the best way to approach either so any advice would be much appreciated. My company is working towards building automated dog training products. We have an app released that desensitizes dogs to various sounds (thunder, fireworks, doorbells etc) We're looking to pair it with a treat dispenser to counter condition bad behaviors into good ones. Eg if your dog barks Everytime the doorbell rings you could teach him to run to his bed and await a treat at the sound of a doorbell or knocking. The process is automated so you don't even have to be home for it to work. My partner and I patented the training system and paid for the development of the initial app which just desensitizes. Over the past year we have struggled to successfully get paid users for the app. We haven't found a cost effective advertising method. When people do get the app we have good ratings 4.4 stars. We've been averaging a few downloads a day at $1.99 for the last year. Yesterday, we decided to test to see if people would download the app if it was free in order to see if we should pay to build out the app into a subscription model with a free download and trial period followed by a monthly subscription cost. We went to free yesterday at noon. This morning I checked and we had 501 downloads in roughly 12 hours. Funding estimates: 15K Move to freemium/subscription model. benefits would be user base data (emails) and monthly revenue. While I don't anticipate 500 downloads a day and a big retention rate I do think this would make our advertising roi positive. 60K App development treat dispenser pairing. Added functionality of treat dispenser prompting and progressively delayed treat releases. WiFi connection to treat dispenser and the ability to run in the background of your device while away from home. 15k Treat dispenser prototyping. The App is really the brain behind the treat dispenser so the prototyping of the treat dispenser could actually come in lower than this. My questions for r/Entrepreneur are: How should I raise these funds. Should I ask for all at once or in stages. Would a bank take into account the demand seen from a few weeks or a month of free downloads or would they see that were not profitable to date and deny based on that. Had anyone had success with angel investors and if so how'd you do it? Thanks r/entrepreneur! [link] [comments] |
