Wolf of Wall Street Sales Training??

    Posted: 05 Apr 2019 05:34 AM PDT

I typically hate all the, "Do what I did and you'll be rich like me," but I'm intrigued by The Wolf Network. Has anyone ever done this? What did you think?

I got kicked out of an account today.

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 06:42 PM PDT

I got news that I am being kicked out of an account for not being compliant with their protocols (I was BTW but they made an example of it) so now I have to wait..no rebuttal..just kicked out for 6 months.

I feel like I'm struggling with being a 100%commission sales rep and not coming off as aggressive. . If I don't get deals we can't pay the mortgage. So I feel like I've been struggling with coming across softer and like I don't care...bc I do!

Anyone have any advice? I don't know ...just starting to burn out after 15years of this.

Looking for my number two in SaaS in Dublin, Ireland

    Posted: 05 Apr 2019 12:02 AM PDT

    Hi guys,

With the study season coming to an end, I feel I have a relatively good value proposition for someone hungry and dedicated to get into Enterprise SaaS. I'm looking for your advice.

In short, I am looking for my number two, my right hand person, my padawan. A young hungry aspiring person, who is driven to become a master sales person. And I am dedicated to make them just that.

We have teamed up with a Big5 in Dublin, Ireland, where they manage training in conversation, product training etc, but the person will be working closely with myself as the Head of Sales.

The plan is that over 12-24 months the person will be transitioning from a lot of BIzDev into becoming a fully fledged Sales Person.

Average deals we do are 7 figures.

Any tips on how to make this offering better? Am I missing something?

Young 23y/o just landed dream sales job, need your expert advice on how to become a top producer like you!

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 09:04 PM PDT

    Hi Sales of Reddit,

I've just entered my dream full time job in sales. It's in a restaurant reservations platform and my clientele will be restaurants.

I'm very keen on doing so goddamn well in this job and being the very best I can be. I want to change my life with this job. Be somebody. My goal is to be a top producer, bringing in massive amounts of money for the business and for myself.I've read the Rules of Work by Richard Templar and have a good baseline on how to approach 'work' but realise that first things first I must be great at my job, Sales.

    -

Have had 1 year of experience so far. Been in two sales positions, first one as a BD Exec where I sold a really complicated SaaS that required a birth-cradle campaign approach. Second sales experience was in insurance, basically sales military bootcamp.

In the past, I've had a lot of trouble closing deals, and always had a rather heavy-handed approach. I've excelled in opening up conversations as I'm really extroverted and have a very thick skin. I feel like this will be a great foundation for my success but I have to polish myself up.

Over my past year, I've learnt that 'consultative selling' is the way to go where you answer the client's questions and learn how to listen.

    • Are there any books you would recommend me to read?
    • Any articles/advice you may have?

    Anyone transition to a SAM?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2019 09:46 AM PDT

Currently an AE and am considering switching to a Strategic Account Manager. Mostly building relationships with existing clients and identifying upsell opps for the AE.

Anyone make this transition before or can anyone share insight into what their SAM does? We are building out this team so nothing to compare it to

Edit: this is an enterprise saas company

    Hi everybody.

My team is looking to fill the top of the funnel with companies and contacts that fit our ICP. I was wondering if people knew of good data providers for this.

As of now, I am familiar with:

    ZoomInfo

    LeadGenius

I will continue to do research, but thought posting in here was worthwhile to see what others have done.

Prep work for transition to Pharma Rep?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2019 07:52 AM PDT

I am currently in the Software sales as an Account Executive. I have about 18~ months experience B2B and have done well. I am considering transitioning to Pharma for a variety of reasons.

In order to show that I am interested in the medical world should I take online courses on biology, chemistry, human anatomy, etc to prepare? Would these be useful to include on a resume?

What other "Prep Work" should I consider doing in order to present a killer resume?

The right TG for selling a software training module?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2019 07:21 AM PDT

Duration of this module is 4 hours and price range is between USD 125 to 250 per participant. Also, this module is for developers with some experience, so am definitely not looking at students or people just starting out.

So this module is for experienced developers (mid-level experience & above). Since the price of this single-session module is a bit on the higher side, I am assuming developers wouldnt themselves register for it. So who, as per you guys, would be the person I should be selling this module to? The project manager or a higher up?

Is Customer Success Engineer a path to SE/AE in SaaS industry?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 08:03 PM PDT

I have been trying to make the leap from engineering (large enterprise IT) to systems engineer with the goal of becoming an enterprise account executive.

I found a great match with a SaaS startup and went through a couple rounds of phone interviews and finally spoke with the VP today.

They think I would be a good match as a "Customer Success Engineer" a term I wasn't familiar with. I researched it and it's more of a customer retention and upsell position.

I only want to down this path if it gets me closer to my goal.

Does anyone have any experience or advice with this role?

    Thanks for your time.

    Help: Selling ADD-ONS

    Posted: 05 Apr 2019 05:20 AM PDT

I sell furniture that comes with a 12 months guarantee. For the example a couch at $2400

Customers can pay an extra 15ish% roughly for a product replacement for another 48 months. For the example $360

I am trying to write a script to sell more of this to a) make more money and b) keep the boss off my back.

Now the couch does come with a 12 month guarantee if anything goes wrong we will repair the couch at one of our repairers.

We do offer a product replacement offer for this which gives you 4 years on top of the 12 months, where if you have a fault, lets say wear and tear where a seam is broken, or the couch is sagging or if anything mechanical or electrical fail you will get one of equivalent quality or a credit in store to purchase something else.

Sometimes i will add We are the only company in the city who offers this (true) or we can offer you a 5 year total cover plan where the first 12 months is repair and the next 4 years is replace.

I am at a lul with it, and i need to get them to see the importance of this, but a lot come in for a cheap couch, they dont want to spend another 15% on the extras or they think its an extension of the warranty which i correct them then they say nah not interested.

Maybe this can help a lot of others in retail sales, sell more.

How to follow-up with prospects when there isn't any CRM Software provided

    Posted: 05 Apr 2019 01:05 AM PDT

    Hi everyone,

I started working in sales (export department) for over a year. To better understand my situation, the company is a manufacturer/processor of nuts products (Almonds, Walnuts, Hazelnuts and Pistachios). These products has lots of types, sizes, qualities, specs... So there isn't a price list to be shared among prospects. Each customer has specific needs and offers are made on demand. The products are quiet expensive as we export by full containers (20 feet container is around 70-100K$) so cold emails has low rate to be successful as the biggest concern of customers are quality and they can't risk sending 20K$ as down payment to a company they don't know about.

The company I work for hasn't invested in any kind of CRM software or other tools to help us (sales people) close deals easier. We are just required to keep up with current customers needs and find new ones.

This is my first job as Sales and I don't have a lot of experience. Most of the things I read about sales doesn't apply to my field. I'm struggling on following up with prospects.

I looking for advices on how I can improve my sales. Is there a personal CRM or tool I can use to remind me on when to get in touch with prospects?

Do you have any book you recommend that can match in my field of work.

I appreciate your time for reading my post.

Edit: Sorry if there is any mistake in my English, I'm not a native speaker

Edit 2: The issue is not only to follow-up with customers but also closing deals for these expensive products while you and prospects are located in different countries

    Dials:Meeting Ratio?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2019 03:46 AM PDT

Does anyone track this ratio and do they know what good looks like?

Aiming to book meetings with Dir and VP level folks at Aerospace and Automative manufacturing companies.

Boss has targeted me on 60 f2fs this quarter which I don't think is realistic.

What's people's thoughts on "getting out and telling our story to anyone who will listen?".

I'm targeted on meetings, not conversions or qualified prospects, just how many people I meet.

    Thanks!

A competitor contacted me on a customer, this is how I handled it.

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 07:40 PM PDT

So a customer of mine is confused on how we are cheaper then another competitor on the same product. Why? Fuck if I know.

Anyway apparently my customer told my competitor to contact me to figure out why I'm cheaper.

The competitor sent me a 3 paragraph email, basically asking to go over pricing that I've offered the customer.

    I responded with

"Yea thats going be a no dawg"

I then later was feeling like being extra funny and sent another response with this meme

    Slump

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 02:28 PM PDT

I've been selling security alarms d2d for 3 months now and 2/3 weeks after I started I was outselling the top performers consistently each week in a 100% commission job. I haven't changed my techniques or how I go about things but I now haven't sold a system in 3 weeks.
With this being my first sales job I'm wondering is this dip in success normal? I'm finding it hard to stay motivated as I haven't made any money in three weeks and it seems I've managed to get worse at my job. Any advice on how to overcome this or how to stay motivated would be really appreciated. Thanks guys!

20 y.o. undergrad business student here. Just accepted an offer, and I'm interested in sales for these reasons...please tell me why I'm utterly uninformed

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 05:19 PM PDT

So I recently accepted an offer for a sales internship at an emerging healthcare startup in the bay area. I'm really excited about it and hope to be promoted to sales rep. Sales seems like the perfect job to me because...

    1. It's easier to distinguish yourself through results than in other jobs, where additional school and other qualifications seem to be more important. If I'm good enough, I can start making a lot of money early.
    2. I appear to have good people skills, shown by my ability to do well in interviews and personality tests saying I am highly empathetic.
    3. Sales is a critical aspect of most businesses, and thus you're usually the last people to get fired (if you're good).
    4. Required hours in the office seem flexible, given the majority of your work is over the phone/email and all companies really care about is you hitting your quota

I'm sure people who have worked sales for years are ready to tear these assumptions to pieces, but that's what I want. I feel I'm idealizing the profession and want to hear from you guys on what it's really like, the good and bad.

Freely available datasets for demo'ing systems?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2019 12:45 AM PDT

Are there any publicly available datasets that are available for free?

I'm self-employed in the business of sales coaching, going into a new venture with others to deliver "whole business" customer experience/journey consultancy.

As part of that, I want to create content/provide "How to" videos for various useful systems.

To do that more effectively, it'd be great to have hundreds of records of fake people's fake contact details. Bit like the Contoso (?) one that Microsoft used to have for their products, but free/not tied to a particular software/developer

I'd rather not create one manually.

    Anyone got any links, please?

CV: What to write if no experience?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 05:53 PM PDT

Hi! I would like to get into sales and apply for some telemarketing jobs to get my foot in. But I don't have any experience.

The last 10 years I have only been traveling and playing poker and doing Web design / online marketing part time to finance my travels.

( The jobs I had before that was just driving truck in well known companies. But I have been reading a lot of psychology and a few books on sales lately).

Any suggestions what I could write in my cv to have a better chance of getting a job in telemarketing?
