Good part time jobs during college for accounting?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2022 09:33 PM PST

Wondering what jobs to work in college part time that would look good on my resume? I currently work as a night auditor for a hotel and it's enjoyable. Lots of downtime to do work and what not. Also work with filing things like the general ledger and the daily revenue report.

So I think it will look decently relevant on my resume; however, is their any other recommendations outside of the obvious like actual accounting related jobs? (bookkeeping, accounting assistant, ETC)

Don't feel discouraged or scared to enter accounting

I just had my busy season at big 4 with an accelerated filer and only charged like ~75 hours a week. Yeah I probably worked like 90 hr weeks, including admin and thinking about work in my sleep but it wasn't that bad tbh. You learn to deal with it and your entire team is focused on achieving the deadline. The payoff feels so good. Everyone feels appreciated.

It honestly wasn't that bad. You get free food all day, get to live in expensive hotel for weeks, and also get to hang out with people your age .We always talk about great our careers will be working at 40b rev firm. The partners give us some great advices and we all marvel at how handsome they are. So don't feel discouraged kiddos. We're all going to make it!!!

    Posted: 20 Feb 2022 06:53 PM PST

Hello all, I am an accounting major and am in my schools five year program for MS in accounting. Currently, I'm in managerial and its not too bad but I've heard horror stories about cost and how intermediate is where a lot of acct. majors leave. Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Accounting PhD Abroad

    Posted: 20 Feb 2022 08:40 PM PST

Hi, I'm currently a master's student in Accounting. I was wondering what the weight of an accounting PhD from a European country would be compared to that of an American PhD, and what some good programs might be. How might I go about starting the search? Would it be possible for me to return to the US afterwards? I want to become a professor in the future! Thank you all!
