My girlfriends new jewellery business Posted: 15 Jan 2022 05:16 AM PST My girlfriend has been struggling with an illness that has drastically changed her life. Recently she's started a small jewellery business on depop to distract her (@groovybeadsbylucy) and I really want it to succeed for her because she is the most amazing woman and sbe fucking deserves a break from the shit she's been through the last few months. She hasn't made a sale yet so I guess I'm asking how can we can increase traffic, sales, etc to her relatively new page 🌈💜 [link] [comments] |
YouTube Star Rating - a new way of rating YouTube videos Posted: 15 Jan 2022 05:14 AM PST Hey folks, I am working on a project called YouTube Star Rating with a friend of mine. The project aims to bring a star rating system to YouTube. It's a rating system that will never disappear on you (*khm* the dislike button *khm*). It works as a simple and free browser extension that adds stars under the videos on YouTube. More info on youtubestarrating.com The difference between the rating systems is subtle, yet very important.
We would be so glad if you guys were to try it out and send some feedback our way. [link] [comments] |
How do you collect customer data and what advice can you offer? Posted: 15 Jan 2022 03:45 AM PST I'm in the process of building a sustainable hair care and body care line. I've been pondering a seamless method to acquire customer data to help with further expansions, support and stability of the company. Which tool/strategy do you use to collect data, whether it be voluntary or via cookies, and what advice can you offer? [link] [comments] |
Question about taking money out of the business Posted: 15 Jan 2022 03:31 AM PST Not sure if this is the right sub to post to, but my company (we manufacture various products btw) recently started turning a solid profit. I have a few partners, and we were trying to figure out how to take extra money out. We pay ourselves a salary already, so this would be more like a bonus or commission at the end. Our accountant thinks we should take it after the operating expenses. So if we have a $1mil NET profit for the end of the year, and operating expenses (lights, warehouse, employees, etc) are 45%-50% of that (high but that figure is going down quickly), we should take a percentage of that $500k left. I'm curious if that's how other people do it or if there's a better way! [link] [comments] |
Second Attempt - Running an Online Business Posted: 15 Jan 2022 02:23 AM PST Hi Everyone! So a few months ago I tried to launch my first online business - Almor Club. Almor Club offers a monthly report about stocks that gain interest from online investors and that has a statistical advantage from back-tested historical data. I got some good reviews as well as not so good reviews from you guys, so I decided to redesign the website, I got a copywriter to help me and consulted with a lawyer to help me with all the legal aspects. I think the website is in another level right now, and I would love to hear your thoughts about the idea, the design, and anything that comes up to your mind when visiting my website. I would also love to hear how you think I can grow this business and get more customers. Link to the website - https://Almor.Club Thank you for reading. Have a great day! [link] [comments] |
selling courses using a Wordpress site. a good idea? Posted: 15 Jan 2022 02:00 AM PST Hi guys, this time I really want to go for it and start a business. I want to sell courses online using a Wordpress site that I build myself. I have build a blog using Wordpress before and it worked quite good. However I did get weird spam comments on my Wordpress site that made it feel targeted. It was not even getting much people so I am confused how they found it. I did like having control over my own website and I really liked to have my own space but this did make it feel unsafe. I now want to start something different and sell courses but I don't know if it is safe for people to buy from a Wordpress site that is not build by professional engineers. But then again I don't want this to stop me and see problems that are not there. I mean there are small businesses that have crappy website and still sell stuff so maybe it is safer than I think. How do you guys think about this? It is all new to me so maybe I am thinking too much. I was also thinking about putting links to an etsy store, teachable or whatever but I don't know if it comes off professional. On top of that they take a portion of the profit and I can't ask as much as I want because of the competition on those sites. How do you guys think of this? I would really love your input. Insight on established fashion brand renaming Posted: 15 Jan 2022 01:33 AM PST I own an established shop reselling vintage and am growing more each month. I have been building the brand for a year and a half, online and with market pop-up events in the pnw. For awhile now, I have been wanting to rename the business to something more meaningful and that will withstand the test of time and leave a legacy (no pressure lolz). I feel like the rename is now or never since it's growing faster; and I'm also due to purchase the next round of marketing materials (shipping mailers, tags, business cards, etc). I have a few name ideas floating around but its time for an outsiders perspective. About the brand: Slow-fashion brand focused on sustainably sourced materials and fibers for ethically made modern clothing as well as recirculated vintage. Planning a small batch in-house line that is locally made in the next few years. I have a dream to eventually be on runway and stocked in stores worldwide. Name exploration: I was incorporating my mother and grandmothers name 'Irene', nicknamed 'Irenie' and the word 'Seint', an archaic term for 'slow', when I realized it sounded like the word 'renaissant/renascent' meaning 'renewal' -- which fits with the vintage resale business. They all kinda of came together on accident but it felt right, and I like the meaning behind it, but I'm not sure how it sounds to others or if it has potential to become a lasting brand. Besides having a meaning for me, my main goal is for it be mostly intuitive to pronounce.
Please let me know your honest thoughts. An option below or back to the drawing board? This decision holds some weight and I just want to get the best insight possible. Thank you for any input. [link] [comments] |
