Do employers care about college grades or if you fail one of your classes? Posted: 27 Jan 2022 05:36 PM PST I have heard that grades are important all the time in college but is it really that important? Are there any benefits to getting good grades other than getting into grad school? I am also majoring in a dual degree in business and IT so my skillset will definitely be attracted to employers. What is the best way to list the exact same work under different employers on a resume? Posted: 27 Jan 2022 09:15 PM PST I am trying to tailor-write my resume for a potential dream job, on which I was recommended to elaborate on my experiences to include the specific skills and facilities mentioned in the job description. My issue is that I have worked under several employers conducting the exact same type of work. I am unsure if it would look bad to list the exact same embellished job description under each employer. I am also unsure if it would look bad to list all similar employers and years and then just list the job duties once underneath all of them. I'm also afraid that doing one detailed description followed by abridged descriptions may look lazy or may imply I didn't do as much work at previous jobs. Specifically, I work for environmental consultants, and I conduct the same exact reports and fieldwork for each. The processes are all essentially identical, with location being the only variable. Thank you so much for any insight and I'm sorry if this is not the right place to post these types of questions. [link] [comments] |
Recommendations from Experienced people Posted: 27 Jan 2022 09:12 PM PST Hey, I am a young and successful business owner who would like to learn from everyone and your experiences. for anyone who has already started or grown a business, I am looking for experience and knowledge! What should I avoid in business? What do you recommend I get right the first time? What idea should I never entertain? What should I do sooner? What could you tell your earlier self about doing business and being an owner that is trying to grow a large company? Any advice would be helpful! [link] [comments] |
Why is Taiwan such a prominent business area? Posted: 27 Jan 2022 03:44 PM PST I've done research on some American companies, lots have headquarters relocated to Taiwan or even Vietnam once they start rolling in more dough it seems. Lots of record companies , why would a record company need a business entity here? And why is it mainly c level businesses ? [link] [comments] |

Google Alert Suggestions to find Speaking Opportunities Posted: 27 Jan 2022 01:49 PM PST Hi guys. It is a goal of mine this year to get on stage more often to speak to groups of female entrepreneurs. I want to set up Google Alerts so that I can throw my hat in the ring whenever a new event is announced that I think might be a fit - what phrases would you recommend I set up alerts for? I'm struggling to find ones that deliver what I'm looking for. For example: "women's conference" shows nothing but women's sports in the different college conferences. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
Looking for tips on connecting and networking with my target market Posted: 27 Jan 2022 01:20 PM PST Hey all, I run a digital marketing agency focusing on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and having trouble reliably connecting and networking with business owners/decision-makers in my target audience. A bit about me - I'm looking to connect with electricians. I have 10+ years in the industry on the tools and as a supervisor in Australia and Canada, so I know the industry well, but the business side of getting in touch with owners that are open to connecting. I've tried cold emailing, social, content (and still doing these things) but really want to dive into networking groups/events just to talk to people and offer value/education before I even think about a sales call. I have results and the confidence to reach out to bigger contractors, but I'm not really sure what the best platform would be? I've tried reaching out to complimenting agencies of partnerships, brands and 'influencers', but nothing worked yet. Hope that's enough to get a general idea of what I'm after. Any advice or tips? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
