Hey Entrepreneurs, I admire your hard work and desire to be your own boss and achieving it! But why so many of you so rude?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 05:38 PM PST

I'm not saying all of you are obviously that's not true. Almost all of the "entrepreneurs" I met are rude asf lol. The ones online always saying "don't work a 9-5!" "Don't get a degree!" If you're not doing _____ you're a fool for working!" Really? The ones I met in person are rude too. They shit in me for wanting to get my degree in marine biology because they think college is stupid. Im going to be doing something that im passionate about so why shit on me for it? It's not like i don't want to develope other things on the side to make me more money. I know about passive income too. Lol. Are most of you really like this? I can't stand to be around the ones I meet because they genuinely shit on me for that.

    Podcasts for entrepreneurs?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 01:10 PM PST

I'm a fan of How I Built This and the Tim Ferriss podcast. Can folks suggest other podcasts thar are interesting for people with an entrepreneurial bent? I'm neither techy nor rich, but I just find it helpful to keep these stories in my mind as I work on my own thing.

How to develop the “hustlers” mentality

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 05:07 PM PST

I'm 21 and extremely lazy, essentially I just sit in bed all day and watch YouTube. When I have class I go to class, when I have to go to work I go to work, and I also consistently workout/go to the gym. My issue is when I have " off" days I don't do anything productive aside from workout. I've already read all the self help and self improvement books so I know exactly what I have to do I just don't do it. My question is did any of you have to develop the "hustlers" mindset or has it just been in you? I'm starting to think that if it's not your "nature" then you can't actually develop it. For me it's essentially become rich or bust.

Any tips that can help me to grow my followers for my online business?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 04:58 AM PST

I have an Instagram account for my branded bag business and it has only a few followers. And I was putting a lot of effort into Instagram. I made the account attractive, I do pictorials for my bags, and invest in editing skills which I used for posting my product. I'm not looking for a million followers in a week but just some tips for building up a social media presence.

Entrepreneurs, what is the best website builder for a small business?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 11:04 PM PST

So I'm in the process of starting up a business and I'm planning on creating my own website. What I'm most concerned with is making my site look professional and driving traffic to it.

I've heard good things about Wordpress so I checked it out but I'm hesitant to go through with it because of the cost.

It costs $300 (25/month) for a business plan. It's not that it's too expensive, but I'm trying to avoid paying so much upfront if that's a possibility. However, if it's worth it, I'll definitely do it.

Anyways, any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated!

part of entrepreneurship is creating something that solves a problem. if so, what problem does an nft solve? wanting to own something digitally to show off?

Question on how to build a user base

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 05:50 PM PST

We are creating a forum type site for people to discuss stocks and more. As the site is being prepped, I am trying to figure out how to get a critical mass going. My worry is not getting users to the site but rather, once they get there, they get disappointed because very few people are already there. Would love to hear suggestions. And thanks in advance, I really love this subreddit, so much useful info.

5 things I learned as a marketing manager in a high-growth startup - $120k to $230k MRR in four months

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 11:35 PM PST

Yesterday we launched a list of inspiring leaders in no-code. We tagged over 50 influencers and leaders, the response has been beyond good.

This is just one of the several growth projects we've done week-in week-out in the last four months since I joined. I still haven't been able to catch my breath and it's exciting!

I work as a marketing manager for WeLoveNoCode. A platform that connects founders and enterprises with top-tier no-code developers.

Just thought to share a few things I've learned marketing a high-growth startup like ours. To put into context, in February this year, we had an MRR of $35k (420k ARR). Last week, only ten months later, we surpassed $230k MRR ($2.7m ARR).

The goal of this post is to share some tips I think would be helpful to marketers and startup founders. I hope you find it useful as we did.

    Let's dive in.

    1. We began with finding product-market fit:

When you're starting out, it's somewhat hard to measure if your product has found product-market fit. For us, this took several months of tweaking the product, changing one price at a time and constantly getting feedback from our customers. We have a log on Slack that notifies us on our website updates — we have at least three of that everyday.

If you any a process, how you can go about it. Consider three things when measuring your PMF (Product-Market Fit) - Doing your research - Understanding the market through metrics - Utilizing tools like Promoter Net Score and PMF surveys.

Research on how your potential customers are reacting to competing solutions. For us, apart from competition from other no-code platforms, we researched on how our potential customers were reacting to indirect competitors in traditional software dev (e.g Turing, etc).

    1. Track your activities One of the most difficult things we tried to solve was marketing attributions. We could not identify which marketing channels brought us leads.

In a startup you typically do things very fast and lot of times, it can be chaotic. But it is super important to find out we're you're getting the most results so you scale that and kill what doesn't work.

Although we still have a ton of improvements, we're really on the right track with this one. You can use Google analytics, Ahref for SEO, Klipfolio for visualization, etc.

    1. Do tasks that are most impactful and requires the least time and effort. As a startup you will always have a million things you ought to do right now. However, for your sanity and effectiveness, you must outline your most important tasks and then evaluate based on specific goals. For example, you content strategy may be based on two goals; conversions or engagement. Identify the most important for the channel you plan to promote your content on. Some channels may not do well with conversion-focused content. For this channel, you probably need content that stirs engagement which can lead to indirect conversions.

Thankfully my team lead built a model that helped us focus on very strategic activities using OKRs, weekly Kanban sand daily stand up meetings. We are a very small team - two core marketing, one design and one development. We quickly fell from a team of 8 to four and instead of dropping, we became more effective and scaled results.

    1. Run growth projects

Like I stated at the beginning of this article, we run growth projects almost every week. It's very tedious but do it consistently and see results. The idea is to share things that your target audience will find useful. You must have identified where you audience hangs out the most, find out what succeeds there and curate yours accordingly.

For us, a few of what we released include - Free Figma pitch deck template (done by our in-house designer) - Gated content (How Early-stage Startups Can Get Users) - PR base of journalists for startups (incase you want to reach out), etc. - Inspiring Nocode Leaders 2021, etc.

These projects no only helped us get thousands of leads, it also helped establish our brand in our niche.

    1. Quality of talent matter

The success of the startup will largely depends on the quality of your talent. For example, my team lead (Head of Marketing) has built and sold her own startup, became CMO for a $50m+ funded company and was one of Forbes30Under30 alumni for 2020. She was also ProductHunt Maker of the Year Runner-up for last year. The same quality for replicated for other team leads and members. If you can't afford paying a lot, offer equity. If they believe in your vision, you could get them on board.

So far, I've had an amazing experience and hoping to wind down a bit as the holiday approaches. I'm taking stock and I'm grateful for the opportunity.

During the holidays, I'll be taking some courses just to get me refined for the next stage of growth. It's going to be madness next year and I'm super excited.

    Open to answering any questions.

Would you like to automate your business blog?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 11:28 PM PST

Most founders wish they started content/SEO earlier, but few have the time when building a new business.

The solution: A done-for-you blog service for busy startup/business founders.

    1. Just provide your niche or links to a number of competitor/similar blogs.
    2. Choose number of articles you would like per month
    3. Get ready-to-publish content delivered straight to your inbox or published directly to your blog.

No need to do keyword research or provide topics. Just pay a flat fee every month and get ready-to-publish content on a regular schedule.

Problems balancing trust with VA's with current tools/sites

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 11:23 PM PST

I've had a look for duplicates and can't find anything that quite touches on this in a meaningful way....

I've hired VA's in the past through Odesk/UpWork and Fiverr as I've enjoyed the security the platforms can provide in terms of screening a potential freelancer and monitoring some of the things that they are doing for me over the course of the day/week/month. As of late, in a new venture, I have been debating bringing on a new (fresh start) freelancer that would end up being my executive VA. Booking hotels, access to credit cards and internet accounts, responding to clients as me when needed with quotes that for the lack of a better term when the price is sent my word is my bond. (I don't want the pricing sent yet, but entered for review, but my mind goes to the worst-case scenario of a rogue freelancer not following my guidelines).

What I'm wondering, is what are other's process's for screening for potential VA's in terms of data security and trustworthiness?

In the shoes of freelancers, what do you offer your clients to calm their worries in terms of the problems above?

I'm looking at spending an exponential amount of time on the road and on the phone (sales) and will be needing to outsource a good portion of my work to focus on what matters most in generating more income. I've sourced VA's for tasks that do not require passwords and access to sensitive information, but this is new territory for me.

TIA for any advice anyone can offer!

Impact of buying power index in business success

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 11:21 PM PST

Just wanted to discuss your thoughts on geographic location and its relationship with a business success. In some places a considerable number of people can afford to buy your product but in other areas only a few can.

If the purchasing power in a region is low if would affect the quality of the products you'll find in that specific market, and business that offer a better quality would simply fails.

Hey everybody! I just want to apologize if I came off as rude in my previous post in my thread. Was just a curious question and I found out the truth about what an entrepreneur actually is!

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 10:54 PM PST

I really like the idea of what these people actually do. There's no main theme to them they all do different shit to change things and do things that others don't. The people that I was asking about arent actual entrepreneurs, apparently lol. It does sound like something interesting that I myself may actually go for if I feel that I've changed my mind about marine biology. Regardless, I still want to go to college and learn something, just because I didn't do great in High School and now I want to go to college to prove to myself that I can indeed get good grades and it just so happens that something I'm passionate about such as marine biology needs at least one degree. Thank you guys for explaining what it actually means to be one of you :)

Can you sell a business idea?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 10:25 PM PST

I was just thinking about how a lot of people have a lot of really good ideas but no platform or means to turn them into reality? So I'm wondering if people will buy them? I've heard stories of people having a great business idea and then selling the rights to the idea to a wealthy person or a company, but I'm wondering how that usually happens?

    Hi all,

We're a small business in Australia. We want to reach out to the international market and we are losing many potential sales because of the high shipping costs but also lower profit margins from goods being to sent us from overseas manufacturers.

Any aussie businesses willing to give insight in who they recommend using for order fulfilment overseas?

Building a MVP and need to create a website that offers screen sharing ability plus custom video editing software

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 05:51 PM PST

I'm an entrepreneur that has had some success in a completely different industry and I have sold a few businesses but my expertise is in sales not coding.

I could use some advice on hiring or finding start-up partners that could help me build out my MVP.

I need very basic custom editing software that could be used straight off my website. I have used zooms screen sharing to test my idea out and that works well enough so something as simple as that combination would allow me to go test the market.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Work & Social Life Balance as an Entrepreneur

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 09:23 PM PST

Hey! So I'm working on starting up a new business recently and I've had to put a lot of effort into making sure I don't let my social life go down the drain while I'm focusing on work. I used to go through bursts of productivity for weeks without seeing my friends, family, or going on any dates. Then I'd go through social bursts where I'd do the opposite. But now after working at it and putting systems into place I've managed to balance it pretty well. I used to think balance wasn't necessary, and that I would get better results if I just focused on one thing and grinded it out. But I ended up letting all the other areas of my life fall apart. Now that I've found work-life balance the new connections I'm making and experiences I'm having are teaching me so much that I couldn't learn at home in isolation, and helping my business grow. Plus I'm still able to maintain my productivity at home. Can anyone relate to this journey?

    Mentor!

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 07:00 PM PST

Hello! Gonna get right to the point…

I am an inventor that is currently looking for a mentor. I have a product that I've designed and prototyped to The point where I'm ready to begin the next phase. I don't really know how to do that…

I am incredibly green when it comes to business and starting up a business, so I'm hoping to find a mentor that can help me move forward and give me insight on how, and what to do from this point.

I know this sounds a little scammy, but this is 100% honest. If you have any more questions please feel free to reach out and I would love to explain it to you more. To give a little information… it has to do with virtual reality. Thanks so much for your time!
