How do I get into sales with no sales experience and a BSC in health science

I'm open to anything. But most jobs are just asking for 2-3 years of sales experience which I do not have.

I'm open to pharmaceutical sales, medical device sales, automobile sales, software, pimping, I just want experience.. I'll sell anything I really want to get into that line of work but nobody is giving me a chance.

I would really appreciate some guidance.

How do you land a client?

    Posted: 24 Dec 2021 11:12 PM PST

Hey everyone, this is a really dumb question but I'm a software engineer and I'm genuinely curious about how sales works, specifically for software. Say you work for a SaaS company, SMB or bigger, and you're in the sales department, how the hell are you landing clients? And like what does the process look like from prospect to closed?

From my perspective you guys are out there doing black magic fuckery and as a result I have new JIRA tickets to complete.

Sincerely, programmer that's clueless about sales.

Need advice from people who are in sales

    Posted: 24 Dec 2021 10:03 PM PST

I run a small business and e-commerce website and over the years I've learned that marketing and sales is obviously the only way to create revenue with that sort of thing. I have had a few in the past and so this current one is built on lessons learned from prior successes and failures. Normally I would run targeted ads but as I've gotten older I'm starting to wonder what outsourcing sales would look like. Here are my questions:

-is it possible to have a sales person engage in selling for a brand new e-commerce site? -what is pricing like? Every website that claims to do sales is usually just some sort of consultant. I'm not looking for consultants. I'm looking for the individuals or an organization that will take on the sales aspect. Perhaps my train of thought is in error. - I feel like if I had millions of dollars this would be an easier task. Then I could just hire and create a sales and marketing team or pay top dollar to a company that knows what it's doing. Are there sales persons that work by contract or commission for this sort of thing?

I'm quite lost and would appreciate your input. Thank you for your time.

    Price negotiation psychology

    Posted: 24 Dec 2021 11:47 PM PST

Background: A printing and packaging company. Sell labels, shrink sleeves (flexo) and mono cartons apart from regular commercial printing (offset)

    Q. After an enquiry from a prospect, I get a quotation from the estimation team. Is it better to straight out give the best possible offer or leave room for negotiation? Does the customer feel better having negotiated a deal? A sense of achievement? Or does a customer loathes the idea of negotiation? Would the sales prosper (by having a reputation of giving the best rates straight out and hence closing the deal faster)?

    UK Sales Salary?

    Posted: 24 Dec 2021 08:30 PM PST

    Hi all,

I currently work at AWS, have been here a bit under a year, based in NYC, and looking to move to London soon. I've noticed that the salaries in the UK are significantly less than in the US. What is a normal tech sales salary for London?
