Home insurance vs homeowner's insurance? Posted: 25 Dec 2021 06:10 PM PST When creating a post, I see this sub has a flair for each. What exactley is the difference? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Dec 2021 02:30 AM PST I understand that I would have to pay out-of-pocket for my sessions done AFTER 09/15, since my insurance didn't cover it. But I know my insurance covered my sessions BEFORE 09/15 because it states so in my EOB and their website payment history. I also have an official letter of my disenroll notice, stating my insurance stops on 09/15. But for some reason, I keep getting emails saying I need to pay for all these past sessions. I will call my therapist to discuss this, but I was wondering what should I do if my therapist refuses to help? Because that has happened before. When I found out that I suddenly lost my insurance, my therapist refused to help with the cost, like give a discount for paying out-of-pocket. So I agreed to pay full price because I could understand that. But I just can't understand why I would have to pay full price for sessions that were covered by my insurance? What should I do? How to get reimbursed for accessories that were removed during body shop repair (window tint, etc)? Posted: 25 Dec 2021 09:21 PM PST Hey all, So I got involved in a car accident (not at fault), which the other party's insurance promptly paid for the repairs. But as the result from the repair, they had a replace a few pieces of glass, which there was tint, and other things such as paint protection films were removed. How do I go about getting reimbursed for those things? Do I just get an invoice from the tint shop to get an invoice, then submit to the insurance company to reimburse for the costs? I live in California, if that helps. [link] [comments] |

Insurance Increase because of deer accident? Posted: 26 Dec 2021 04:28 AM PST Everyone that I've talked to mentioned to go through insurance since I have comprehensive insurance and it shouldn't increase to much (if at all) I totaled my car (worth 8k) and was paying $260 a month with progressive (two cars both, two insured, & one at fault accident 3 years ago). After my policy ended, they now want $513 a month. Nothing has changed besides this deer claim, no tickets, or other claims. I've shopped around before the deer claim and was at $260 a month for everyone, but now everyone (Allstate, progressive, and liberty mutual) want over $450 a month. Has anyone seen an increase in rates that doubled like this because of a not at fault/deer accident? Is there anything I can do or suck it up for the next 5 years till it drops off the clue report? Health Insurance starts later than expected Posted: 26 Dec 2021 03:45 AM PST I signed up for insurance through healthcare.gov and did it before dec 15th to make sure it'd start on Jan 1st. I got my card in the mail and saw it starts Feb 1st (I checked an email that also said beginning Feb, after seeing this). This presents a larger issue since i need Humira for Crohn's. When I call them would getting it started in January even be a possibility now, or will they just give me the run around? It's Oscar insurance and I live in Oklahoma, I double checked and everything I've found says I just needed to sign up before Dec 15th. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Dec 2021 10:53 PM PST To clarify a little more. Are these terms negotiable if I call and argue? If I refuse will I simply lose insurance and go to another company or will my credit be impacted? Just seems unfair given I was sitting at a light and got hit. [link] [comments] |
What to expect from out of state not at fault auto accident? Posted: 25 Dec 2021 04:04 PM PST I live in MN and accident happened today in IA. My car was towed maybe 10-15 miles from the accident - I wasn't going to be able to find anyone that could tow back to Minneapolis from central Iowa on Christmas Day. Me and the at fault party both have the same insurance, and I don't know if I will get assigned an adjuster on Monday. If my car is not totaled, will they fix it in IA or tow to a shop closer to me? Also, what is the likelihood that my car is totaled? Airbags deployed on steering wheel only. Cops estimated $20,000 in damage but I know that really doesn't mean anything. I'm trying to figure out how to upload a photo of my car. 2013 Honda Accord with 66,000 miles in the next best thing to brand new condition. Lastly, I refused medical attention at the scene because the other driver was worse than me, and all I felt was a burn from the steering wheel on my arm. I now worry that I fractured my wrist. Am I able to go the doctor Monday or do I need to wait to talk to the adjuster first? With COVID, going to the ER now would still be a 30 hour wait if I am lucky. Thank you. [link] [comments] |
Can the Insurance Holder see the reason for a doctor's visit for someone else on their plan? Posted: 26 Dec 2021 12:14 AM PST There are two quotes which I think quickly sum up the background to this. "I'm in love, I'm in love and I don't care who knows it." – Buddy "Really. Because when a guy does something stupid once, well, that's because he's a guy. But he does the same stupid thing twice, that's usually to impress some girl." - Once-Ler She is a brillant bio-medical researcher. When she talks about her passion, you can almost grab the thought bubbles floating around her. It's not official yet, because ... (here comes the medical part). She suffers from the same thing I used to, crippling anxiety and depression. I never thought the long, hard, and weird road that I walked towards recovery would be of any use to someone. However, on the days where it all gets to be a little much, I know how she feels. She is only just now becoming aware of her issues as a result of being around me (I am very open about it.) Her family is the type that doesn't really talk about mental health. It's not that they would shut her down if she said something. They just won't get it. She REALLY needs to see a medical professional about this, I am hoping that Lexapro can do the same great things for her I have seen in so many. However, she is a grad student still relying on her parent's insurance. She doesn't want them to see that she is seeking treatment for mental health. I have had to find a workaround for counseling services that has worked, but I know she won't go to the doctor unless there is ZERO chance of her family discovering the reason she is going. I am not sure what insurance her family uses; I will ask later. Few key questions.
Hope you had a great Christmas! Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
Need help understanding charge on a total loss vehicle Posted: 25 Dec 2021 02:37 PM PST Farmers had produced me this document that states that my vehicle is in NORMAL condition and there is Total Condition Charges of $0. The six comparables they had attached are assumed to be in the NORMAL condition per the side bar comments. However, when they compare my vehicle to the comparable vehicles they take off $2,166 on the row of Condition. I spoke with my farmers agent and they stated that its because the comparable vehicles are being sold by dealerships. I've scoured the internet and there's no mention of this being a thing. Is this a thing? Because to my understanding this defies the whole purpose of the full-coverage insurance that I have had and renders me unable to buy one of the comparable vehicles if I so choose. Thank you for any help or advice you may have! [link] [comments] |
How would insurance company know if I am truthful of amount lost (renter's insurance) Posted: 25 Dec 2021 02:40 PM PST I want to get renter's insurance one day, and was wondering if the apartment was broken into, or caught on fire, and I lost all my clothes and cookware, how would insurance know the cost to reimburse me. What if I had 5 cheap shirts that completley burned, but told my renter's insurance that ten expensive shirts burned....would they reimburse me for ten expensive shirts? Basic example, I know. I only ask out of curiosity, honestly. I also am starting to wonder if it is worth the hassle of scanning ALL my receipts. [link] [comments] |
