Toyota Busts The Car Microchip Shortage - Returning to full production by EOY Posted: 24 Nov 2021 01:43 PM PST https://news.yahoo.com/toyota-busts-car-microchip-shortage-200000094.html
I assume they're storing CPUs and other parts and have modified the Toyota Production System to get around this. I wouldn't say it's signs of the shortage ending. Trust Toyota to find a way out of all the car companies. Thought it was an interesting bit of news, maybe they will benefit from this while other automakers struggle to get cars delivered, or maybe they won't because people are willing to wait for the cars they want [link] [comments] |
I think the Great Resignation will accelerate the push towards automation. Posted: 24 Nov 2021 02:20 PM PST I listened to a talk by an economist a couple of years ago who said that the major theme of the 2020s would be human jobs being replaced through robots, AI etc. I think the Great Resignation will accelerate this push towards automation. What do I invest in to take advantage of this? [link] [comments] |

Time in the market vs timing the market right now? Posted: 24 Nov 2021 01:32 PM PST Hey, so ive got a pretty risky portfolio (bullish on it still) but its time to diversify, ive been looking at SPY, apple, nvidia, Microsoft, MGK, VGK, etc... But they're all skyrocketing right now to very high levels, ik Time in the market beats timing the market they say, but surley the stocks have to drop and cool down, plus my main reason is this china bs with all the real estate defaults likely to come, which will effect the US economy. I know if i buy those stocks now and wait 10 years ill likely be profitable, but if i can buy one stock for $300 after what i think is a likely to come dip, rather than $450 it may be now, its a worthy idea even long term. So what do you guys think, buy/ DCA at this time at steep all time high prices with not the most bullish stuff upcoming, or risk it and wait for the market to start cooling down or dropping? Posted: 24 Nov 2021 02:18 PM PST I was wondering if anyone would share their stories about having invested in a company which then had a stock split. As a novice, I've only been investing for the past year, so have yet to experience it. [link] [comments] |
Am I missing something with BMY? Posted: 24 Nov 2021 12:58 PM PST So I've been holding BMY for a while now and my cb is kinda high at around 64.5. My question to you is, am I missing something? This company's net income is technically negative due to them writing off an acquisition therefore making it abnormally low for this year but if you look at their free cash flow, it better represents the state of their profitability. Now, they're trading at slightly less than 10 times FCF but this company is actually growing a ridiculous amount for the multiples they are at, 21% for 2021 and another 6% in 2022 while once again, trading at ridiculously low multiples. Additionally, they always consistently beat earnings, they don't issue many shares and in the few instances they have it was for acquisitions that are now fueling their growth, they don't have any one drug that takes up a HUGE amount of their revenue/profit (ABBV), and the patents for many of their key drugs don't expire for another few years. Did I forgot something or does it make sense for this to trade at ridiculously low multiples, even lower than their other competitors, while growing much faster Lastly, yes I did do a DCF, I assumed 8% growth for the next 3 years, 5% for 3 years after that, and 3% for 4 years after that, I then assumed a P/E of 15 and discounted it 10% to get a PT of 94. Even if you slightly change some of those assumptions it's still really undervalued. I've been eyeing call options for this particularly the 57.50 ones for Jan 22 and March 22 but idk what do ya'll think,? [link] [comments] |
Tax Question on off loading half my shares that I bought at different times. Posted: 24 Nov 2021 11:49 AM PST Scenario: 6 months ago I bought 100 shares of stock X. 3 months ago I bought 100 more shares of Stock X. For a total of 200 shares of Stock X . My broker is TD Ameritrade. What happens when I sell 100 shares? Do I need to hold the other 100 shares for 6 months or 9 months to meet the 1 year hold period to play less taxes? I would like to sell the shares I have held for 3 months, not the ones I have held for 6 months. [link] [comments] |
