    I'm now in my 3rd full time sales job since college and I'm getting burnt out of cold calling. I took a role at a digital marketing company a year ago and was told that as long as you were hitting quota, they didn't really care how many calls you made.

    Fast forward to July. I had hit 105% of my quota the previous 2 months, but I'm not a high volume call guy. I know how to work a database and find clients other reps missed. I Research my clients. And go for quality over quantity. And then I was told that my average of 45 outbound calls a day wasn't enough. I was put on a PIP that required me to make basically 60 outbound calls and send 100 emails a day. Low and behold my sales results have suffered and I have no desire to work for this company.

    What are some sales options that don't involve making 40+ cold calls a day because I am at my breaking point?

    From 115K to 300K Overnight

    Wow. I started in sales 10 YRS ago when my IT job was outsourced to India.

    I started in roofing sales door to door then corporate sales for several jobs until I realized I was much more of an account manager then a sales rep.

    Recently started a job where company sets appts for me and all I do is go and close 10K deals 3 times/day abs I've never been happier.

    I don't understand why it took me sooo long to realize that the "presentation/closing " phase is what I'm best at and that you can truly maximize your income when you are setup to sell, sell, sell.

    Long story short …. I'm making more than double what I was without any bullshit follow up, admin, Zoom calls, inventory, samples, etc.

    Find the EXACT role that's right for you!

    Is never giving up key in sales?

    Since 2 months I am cold calling, cold emailing. Emailed the person's who wants me to send them an email.

    Now I am at that point where 2 realtors are interested in and 7 are prioritizing their own way buy will consider me in the future.. at least they told me so

    my 2 clients after working so hard without getting paid will start after their homepage is ready.

    Does that mean I am in a wrong niche/ industry?

    I do digital marketing in Austria & Germany.

    Is this the sales process which is hard and pushy ?

    Opinion: Better to displace competitors or educate accounts to purchase new cybersecurity solution?

    Working on my new territory that I've been allocated to half way into the year and have not had targets adjust to help with the change.... Standard.

    Have my territory accounts mapped out and know what competition is in where plus a rough date of renewal time.

    Sales cycle is circa 4-6months if not overly complex and FY ends in March.

    Given time frame, should I just focus on displacement of competition (hard to remove them technically)... Or educate new accounts who have no solution like ours (but there's likely to be no budget, it's a value sell approach but pricing of solution isn't dictated by ROI).

    AOV is £150-200k per annum. Larger clients will push £250-350k but historically a 1yr sales cycle.

    Interested to hear thoughts on this from anyone in ent sales.

    I want to leave car sales, I HATE it.

    Hey everyone, I posted this before but it didn't really take off like I hoped for. I understand life is too short to work a job you hate, so here I am looking for some advice. I am currently 22 (just turned) and have been working in auto sales since I was 18. I have learned so much about sales processes, the auto business, some finance tricks, and more. I am consistently putting up great numbers (1-3 top every month) but I just don't feel like this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I ended up in the business because my senior year in high school I wanted to join the army but I had two knee surgeries that required waivers that my recruiter couldn't get approved and that was about two weeks before graduation. I tried to go to community college and I absolutely hated it, so I dropped out. About a year ago I decided to give college another try and again, no avail so I dropped out a second time.

    I feel stuck, and lost. I don't know what else I want to do in life or what to look for when job hunting. Should I create a LinkedIn? Look around on Indeed? Has anyone here ever left the car business for another sales role? The reason I hate it is because I am constantly working 60 hours a week + weekends and holidays. It's definitely not worth the money for what you have to put in. My first year I made about 40k, second year about 54k, last year about 70k and this year should finish right about 100k. I know there isn't many options to make 100k in my early 20s with no degree but I feel stuck.

    My general manager has gassed me up with hopes of a promotion that will never happen and that's the main reason I'm looking.

    Can someone please share their past stories/advice?

    Career advice

    Does anybody have any advice on leveraging BDA / BDR (media sales) experience in searching for a non-sales job (mainly looking for positions at DC non profits). This was my first full time job out of college (liberal arts degree). It's been a good job overall and certainly a big step up from the kinds of work I was doing beforehand. But after 9 months, I've come to realize that the weight of having a numeric goal constantly hanging over my head has been too much of drag on my mental health and I'm approaching burnout.

    I recognize this is all very vague - I'm really just looking for casual advice / wisdom from people that have been in / left this field in the past. Any wisdom on coping with burnout in a sales role would Also be appreciated.

    Are you able to make your own sequences/cadences or does your manager make them?

    Hey all, I'm in a predicament where I'm very confused/annoyed my team doesn't have the capacity to create our own sequences and has to rely on our managers to make them in Outreach. While this doesn't sound like a big issue, because I can just edit them to whatever messaging is relevant for that person, this takes way more time than me or anyone else just making the sequences that the team wants and needs.

    Do you have the ability to make your own sequences or does you manager make them?

    Best Sales Territory? (If you had the option)

    So a colleague of mine and I are splitting the US between us 2 and are very open to what each other want. What states/regions should I take or not take? I am 100% taking North East but have to give up Texas if I want South East (FL all the way up to VA) or I can give up TX and take South East and North East...then we split up random states out west while he takes Midwest. We are selling tech by the way.

    What would you guys do?

    Marketing Agency REALLY Struggling with Sales

    So I own a marketing agency specialized in a specific niche. We have ample marketing experience, have run successful promotions, have reviews & testimonials, but people ignore us. We don't have case studies we can share though (under NDA, and we never recorded exact results… if I scratch my brain, and dig through folders I might be able to pull off some numbers though), but nobody asks. Problem is, it never gets that far.

    I literarily reach out to the target audience via Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn, and nobody cares. I tell people, here's how to scale your business in {niche} to $25,000/month, I'll give you the system for free, and they don't care. They literarily can't be bothered even to check it out…

    I cannot understand these people. If somebody told ME when I was starting out that here's how to make $25,000/month, and it's FREE, I'd f*cking bother to at least check it out…

    So I'm at my wits end. We've made $100K+ through our 2 year history based off Upwork + referrals, but we were recently banned on Upwork… which means we're left with exactly 0 clients as our last remaining project just finished 1 month ago.

    I am honestly at the stage where I'm desperate and I need your help to fix this situation. I'd be glad to send you more specific details in private and even pay for your time. I just need to get this problem solved, whatever it takes. I need a reliable sales process, or I will be bankrupt, in 3 months or less.

    Developer to Saas Sales?

    I've been applying to some sdr positions and I'm not having much luck. I don't particularly want to stay a developer, and sales engineering is development lite.

    Any tips from someone that made the transition from developer to sales? I want to stay in the tech space since I think I'd do well in it and I enjoy it.

    I'm currently in the midst of a commercial AE interview at my dream company and just passed the 2nd round of interview with the hiring manager! I prepared a lot of situational questions but the hiring manager seemed more interested in my thought process — e.g. how do I break into new accounts, what sort of ROI do you think a VP vs CTO value etc.

    For the 3rd round of interview, I'll be interviewing with the director of sales. I was told she's really tough on interviews and would be assessing my cultural fit and strategic thinking. What are some questions I should prepare for and what are some thought-provoking questions I should ask?

    $73k to $124k base - should I take it?

    Coming off a tenure of 4.5 years at my current company selling saas and recently got an offer with a significant pay bump at a saas startup. Problem is the new company seems to not be doing as well as they used to the last few years and a lot of senior management has left for reasons I don't know. This year they only closed 3 deals and they cited the pandemic.

    Things are not exactly rosy at my current company either I don't a ton of growth, haven't had a raise and margins are getting cut. To top it off our management and CEO have no idea how to run a sales org. I'm at the end of the line and hence am looking at this offer in hand

    New offer - $124k base - $110k stocks vested after 5 years - $200k ote

    Current Role - $73k base - looking to make $90-100k this year w commissions

    So I'd be getting a huge pay bump but the new company seems shaky. They also seem willing to negotiate. $124k was the number I gave them and asked them not to go below and they matched it.

    Pass or negotiate? If negotiate, what would you ask for?

    3rd round SaaS interview (start-up series b funded)

    I wanted to ask how to prep for a role play interview as an AM at a SaaS company (start-up series B funded). I ask because i'm from a different sector (transactional fmg sales). Got through the first 2 round okay and i'm up for the 3rd. Account has just been handed to me, the AM, by the AE/SDR. Customer has used the product for 2 weeks. My metric is getting as many users as possible online. First meeting.

    I've got an introduction, questions about how they run their business, what the issues/painpoints are right now, how they have used the product so far. After that a rundown with them of the first data and trying to set a follow-up meeting with some additional team members.

    Any glaring mistakes? Advice etc?

    BDR @ Blue Chip vs Hypergrowth Company

    Hi fellow sales folks,

    I hope everyone is having a great start to this week and a great start to September thus far!

    I just graduated this past spring and I am looking to start in sales, preferably in SaaS but I am open to many options. I have been interviewing for BDR and Inside Sales Rep positions for the past 2 weeks. Atm, I have two promising opportunities: one with a blue-chip company that is renowned for their superior, ubiquitous product, and they boast a great workplace culture with plenty of perks. A lot of those perks are tied to experiences that are not as relevant in a post-COVID world. The other option is at a company experiencing hypergrowth and looking to disrupt an outdated industry with a more efficient service than the long-standing player. This company also boasts a "world-class" training program, but it lacks the name recognition that the blue-chip offers. Their interesting offer includes a fast-track to promotion, and my salary w/o commission could increase by 50% in nine months as long as I make my numbers. I'm not as interested in the latter industry as the first company's but since they are operating in an untapped market, I could see myself crushing these numbers.

    Comp is the same at both firms with uncapped commissions. Blue-chip has new trainees in-office (~30-60 min commute), the startup is fully virtual until next spring.

    If you were an entrepreneurial 22 year old starting their career in sales to build their career towards a CMO position or owning their own enterprise in the future and in this position, which opportunity would you take?

    Automation, scraping tool suggestion?

    Recommendations for hair stylist sales - value prop in recommended products

    Hi all,

    My girlfriend is a wonderful hairstylist who is killing it with booking services and customers love her but she's lacking in selling products to them. She doesn't want to push customers to buy them like the other girls do in the salon and risk losing customers booking services. Looking for the best way for her to talk to customers about buying products

    My thought process is they're spending $200-500+ for a service that day, a $50 product to prolong the effects is a worthwhile investment. They're making a small investment in a product today to help their much larger investment. If they come in every 3 months then that'd be less 50 cents a day to have their hair look great the entire time rather than start to fade out or look worse after a month and a half using a lesser product. She's the subject matter expert, she knows the product she's putting it and the hair type of the client, so she'll be able to give them the best product to keep the client happier longer. They're going to spend money on product anyways so buying the products meant for their hair by their stylist is the best way to go about it. Again that's my thought process. I also said taking pictures of customers who use the products and customers who don't and having photo proof would be valuable as well.

    Can anyone else help frame the value prop so that she can help her clients stay happier longer by using the products she recommends? Any recommended books/sales techniques for her to read up on for when she talks to clients about these things?

    Who hires SDRs at startups and how do I reach them?

    After submitting my job application I try to prospect to the decision-maker so I can get on a call with them and use that call to sell myself since it's the only way I can stand out since I don't have a degree. However, I always have a hard time finding out who hires for these jobs. I spent an hour browsing a companies employee page trying to find anyone related to talent acquisitions, sales managers, or anyone that I can get in contact with but I realized the person who was making the decision was actually a people operations specialist. I didn't even know a title like that existed. Any tricks you guys use that can help me out in finding the hiring person? it just feels like teams at startups are sometimes all over the place. Since I could not find the hiring person, I emailed the VP of sales or marketing and they did not respond which was kind of obvious.

    Better path to SaaS Enterprise AE?

    I currently work as an AE in POS systems and payment processing sales. 0 cold calling, all leads are warm from marketing or SDRs. I do a discovery call, demo, competitive analysis and close. Recurring software revenue is about 20% of the revenue generated, most is from the hardware being sold.

    I'm being recruited by an engineering startup with 3 employees where I will be the first and only hire in sales. They sell a very technical hardware product, which I should be able to learn fairly quickly. I will be in charge of the whole sales cycle, bizdev, partnerships, and some marketing.

    Which do you think would be a better step towards becoming an AE for a blue chip tech SaaS company?

    I used to work for Ford and I was able to sell A LOT.

    Is it wrong if I go back to Ford or should I push through with selling Mercs?

    I'm an entry level marketer in a really amazing sales and marketing team. Been here for about half a year. I never thought I'd get into marketing, I studied Marine Biology and have never really been materialistic or cared about having loads of money. Just a simple life for me to survive is enough.

    The company is doing great, my manager is amazing, and we just won a huge deal, but I'm don't get excited. I absolutely love the company, it's in the clean energy sector, but perhaps this isn't the right role for me?

    Anyone been in the same situation before?

    2nd interview tomorrow

    I have my first big saas sales interview tomorrow! They've given me some prep and said to prepare STAR examples but also said to ask good questions. Any advice? The recruiter told me that the company is planning on going public soon, is it okay to ask the panel about that and how they foresee it effecting employees?
