Posted: 02 Jul 2021 11:41 AM PDT I'm a 25M, U.S veteran that feels behind in life. I subconsciously compare myself to a few of my friends and I hear of them making close to 6 figures. I'm currently in school to eventually apply to radiation therapy school. Anyway, I've been hearing about sales and it's all performance based. I'm an overachiever and people pleaser. I'm looking into either insurance or SaaS sales. I'd like to get started now and go to school while working. Might change my major to business of finance to get into management maybe. Which sales industry is best for me? I'm located in Tampa FL. [link] [comments] |

Company always distributes commission late — any solutions or do I just have to suck it up? Posted: 02 Jul 2021 11:26 AM PDT Our Q1 commission was delayed until mid-May and it looks like it's happening again with Q2… my manager who used to be an SDR at the company said since she's been there no one has ever gotten their bonuses on time. Any solutions to this? My company uses an employee NPS tool so a couple of SDRs and myself are planning on bombing it with 0s across the board but idk if that'll actually help or if this is just one of those "you just gotta deal with it unfortunately" situations [link] [comments] |
To follow up or not to follow up? Posted: 02 Jul 2021 12:57 PM PDT Hey guys I spoke to two leads over the phone last week. I ended the call saying that I would send them an email with previous websites that I've done as well as my rates and then we can take it from there. I wanted to ask you guys if you follow up with your leads and at what point? I personally feel like this is a bit pushy, desperate and I don't ever respond when someone follows up with me. I'm just wondering what your thoughts were and how often following up works? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Jul 2021 11:06 AM PDT I'm presenting a new compensation plan. The legacy compensation plan is team based and the percentage for upfront + SaaS revenue is very low. Needless to say, I'm in the final hour of presenting a new compensation plan when, you guessed it. HR wants some data. Can someone shared 2-5 reputable sources that shows what commission percentages should be for ICs, sales managers, directors, and VP for SaaS sales? The running example right now is: IC = 8% Managers = 6% Director = 5% VP = 4% Total is 23% of GCV is paid out to sales team members. I very much appreciate anyone's feedback and help here. Cheers! How do I increase Meeting show up rate? Posted: 02 Jul 2021 01:31 PM PDT I'm targeting small businesses. I'll cold call them and schedule a meeting for the same week, and called to confirm an hour ahead of time. Some don't even pick up when I call to confirm and some say will be there and then just ghost. This has happened 10 out of 10 times this week. 10 meetings scheduled. 10 do not show. What's the secret? [link] [comments] |
How to maximize sponsored online events Posted: 02 Jul 2021 01:20 PM PDT We've sponsored three events since I joined in March, and none of them have been very successfully. Mainly because I've been given only a few days notice for each, and feel on the back foot from the start. Is there a process you follow to ensure your events are successful, and you maximize your return on investment? My idea is to create a handover document that the marketing/exec team complete when an event is booked, with their expected returns, reasons for attending, and the goals, that gets passed over to sales. From there, I need a process to follow before, during and after the event to keep it running smoothly and better achieve the goals. We've had some great potential, and I really think we could do more if it was approached more thoroughly. [link] [comments] |
People getting fired without warning Posted: 02 Jul 2021 08:58 AM PDT Is this the norm now? A guy I know got let go yesterday without any kind of PIP or advanced notice. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Jul 2021 08:52 AM PDT I am an AE, but I also do prospecting. My current company uses a Zoho/Klenty combo (I know.... don't get me started)... Klenty is terrible... Does anyone use Zoho as an SDR to create cadences? I want to see if I can convince leadership to use JUST zoho and get rid of klenty. [link] [comments] |
Good way to get past the gatekeeper to get through to someone in HR? Posted: 02 Jul 2021 07:24 AM PDT If anyone has experience getting past the gatekeeper to speak to someone specific in HR what's the best way to do that. For context I got referred to a role but the executive that referred me told me to speak to someone specific in HR. The only problem is the person in HR is very senior and no gatekeeper will put me through, even with the referral. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Jul 2021 08:44 AM PDT I just got offered a nice job. Only problem is they want me on the road 3x a week in a city that is 200 miles away from where I live. I can't relocate. So that's about 3 hours each way, doing sales meetings until about 3pm and then if I'm lucky home by 6-6:30. They provide a company car and pay for all travel expenses. I should add this is in educational sales so I would have a month off during Christmas and during the summer. Wondering if anyone else has done this or does this. Do you get used to it? Really want this job but I'm worried about the travel. [link] [comments] |
