    Homeowners Insurance Question

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 09:14 PM PDT

So quick question here. My dad was helping me paint my house today. Unfortunately, he ended up falling off a ladder and injuring himself. There's going to be a lot of dental work in his future, as he's going to lose at least 2 teeth (probably more), and he had to get part of his lip stitched. I was wondering if I could submit a claim under my homeowners' insurance to help cover the cost of his medical bills. If so, would it affect my premium or anything else? I have State Farm. Wanted to get some advice before I approached my agent.

How to best approach auto diminished value claim?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 10:03 PM PDT

    Location: California

    Car: 2018 Chevrolet Camaro 1LS

My car was hit by another driver's car. The driver's insurance is still investigating, but I want to make preparation for diminished value claim. I was already planning to sell it to one of the used car tech companies (CarMax, Vroom, etc).

Will the insurance company estimate lost value based on the base car or with options included? I have around $6000 in factory options on it, including a $4500 1LE Track Performance Package with low take up rate that I doubt they can find examples of.

Car insurance. Other driver not picking up calls [Maryland]

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 01:44 PM PDT

I was involved in an car accident 2 weeks ago where I was going straight while the other driver(let's call him John) tried to make a left turn into a McDonald and didn't see me. The insurance(State Farm) he provided me was under someone else's name (let's call her Jessica). I filed a claim with State Farm and State Farm was able to come in contact with Jessica, whose name is on the insurance. Jessica verified to the insurance that John had permission to drive her car. However, State Farm could not come in contact with John. And State Farm needs a statement from John before determining who is at fault. It's pretty obvious that John is avoiding their calls. I looked this guy up, and he has extensive criminal/civil court cases. I asked State Farm what the next step would be if John never picks up their call. They said they will send an agent to his house, but he if doesn't open his door, then they would have to close the case, and I would not be reimbursed due to lack of evidence. I had never been in a situation like this before.. Am I really out of luck and would just have to use my own uninsured motorist insurance, which will make the cost my insurance go up if this guy never answers calls from State Farm? You can just get away from an accident without insurance just like that?

Can anyone help me with my dental insurance problems?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 09:55 PM PDT

I did orthodontic treatments in a dental clinic from last September- when the doctor said my treatment needs at least 16 months. I purchased an expensive dental plan with a higher cover for orthodontic treatments. However, my ortho stuff was finished in just 5 months. I called my insurance company and they said as long as the dental clinic sends a "finish early" note to them, they will pay all of the rest fees at a time. But I contacted my dental provider hundreds of times and they just refused to do so. If this, I have to enroll in this expensive plan for another year since my dental provider charged my fees monthly for like 24 months. What should I do now? I had the contract with my dental provider and there is only the number of money I paid and how much left for the insurance company to pay, no specific plan information on it.

    Here is my information:

I am living in Austin, TX, USA. And my dental insurance company is Delta Dental. I am in my university's group plan.

Can someone help me understand my renters insurance recoverable depreciation

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 03:47 PM PDT

Hi, so I have an approved payment for my renters insurance claim on my computer. But I'm confused on what exactly I'm covered on. The link below is a breakdown of the different prices for different parts

    https://imgur.com/a/NOGEBO3

What exactly do I have to spend in order to get my depreciation back? Do I have to spend the full value of the replacement cost or the value of the depreciation?

To rephrase, in the first line, in order to get my remaining $604.59, do I have to spend at most $604.59, or do I have to spend the $806.12?

Wife damaged new car. Worth putting a claim in?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 09:00 AM PDT

Hi all and thanks for taking the time to read. To make it quick, my wife sideswiped a support pillar in our basement garage with our new car and scraped and dented the back driver side half of the car pretty good. Mechanic said its around $2,000 worth of damage. We have collision insurance with a $500 deductible but given she was undoubtedly at fault, is it worth putting a claim in? We don't want our rate to go through the roof. We are in NYC.

    Any responses are appreciated!

I have a question about car insurance

I have a question about car insurance

I am wondering what they mean when the agents ask you how many miles per year you drive or something like that?

Like for an example if you drive less than 5000 miles a year.

    Does that make sense?

    With geico btw.

First accident on my bike. Insurance Question. Body shop wants to charge extra for an estimate?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 06:34 PM PDT

My bike tipped over and it will need some work done that will probably be more than a few thousands dollars so I am going to submit my first claim. While on the phone with the shop, he mentioned that I should submit the claim to Gieco but that he can do the estimate for $180 instead of the Geico agent that would typicaly come out and do it. He said 99% of the time he can fight and get more money for my damage than Geico would estimate.

It seems strange that I should be paying more than my deductible for something that seems to be part of the claims process.

Does anyone have experience having the shop do an estimate and charging extra? Or should I just leave it to the Geico agent and hope that they get everything right...

I also just I feel like if I get an estimate from Gieco and I bring it to his shop, he should be able to adjust the amount based on what he see's fit and get me a higher price without me paying 180 at the beginning to get his estimate but who knows...

I am in MA if that helps

How long does it take for total loss settlement check to be sent to lein holder?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 01:09 PM PDT

How long does it typical take for a check to be sent from USAA car insurance to lein holder after a total loss claim has been accepted? I plan to accept their total loss settlement by Monday (second offer) and it will cover the cost of my car loan. In your experience, how long does it take for them to cut a check to the Lein holder (bank of America)? Thanks!

[OR] NAF accident with 17 year old driver

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 08:48 AM PDT

    Hi there,

So yesterday I was driving straight down a road in my city and I was 3 blocks away from even having a stop light. This car comes out of a side street on my right to make a left, where there is a stop sign for them, and luckily I'm able to brake soon enough to not get T-boned. My bumper hits the driver-side door.

We stop and I make sure that no one is injured, but I'm very shaken up. The other driver is a teenager, who I can say with certainty is high, from my experience working at dispensaries. I go back into my car to call my family and inform them I'm alright. When I come back out, his mother appears out of nowhere saying they live down the street.

The boy proceeds to deny any fault saying the car that turned right before him stopped in the middle of the road so he did too, essentially admitting that he didn't make sure the road was clear before entering. His mother begins to intimidate me and say I hit her son. Her husband also appears and I'm feeling a bit threatened.

We exchange insurance info after I try to call the non-emergency line. They said that if there is no injury, they won't dispatch. They spend some time fumbling for the insurance. When I finally get it, I realize the kid is not on the policy, even though he obviously lives with the parents.

I also woke up this morning with a flare up in shoulder pain. I had a work injury a year and a half ago, but the pain is worse than it's been in a while. I will be doing to the doctor for this.

They have Geico and I filed a claim through them. However I'm worried of two things: then filing a claim against me and Geico denying the claim I filed since they clearly are evading rates for their underage son.

What should I prepare for? If my claim gets denied, would I have to sue? Could I even sue this kid or his parents?

First time accident and feel left in the dark. Need advice/help.

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 06:55 AM PDT

Hey, so let me start from the beginning...

Edit: I'm in Colorado Springs, USA

On Sunday, May 23rd, I got rear-ended pretty bad by a clueless driver. Three cars were involved (me in the middle), mine was the only one that had to get towed off, but no one was hurt. I'm 24, this is my first accident, and I actually just got my license and this car on May 3rd, took awhile.

Anyways, I got myself home that night, called my insurance, filed the police report online. Get a call from my insurances adjuster at 7:57am the next day, of course I missed that. Called back, emailed, posted on the message board in claims...nothing. Two days later, he informs me that the person at fault's insurance is claiming liability and that he has switched me over to them unless I'd like to say. I say whatever, just as long as the balls moving.

Well, on the following Friday, I get a call from the other insurance's adjuster who will be working with me. Goes well, I gathered from reading online that I wasn't supposed to say much, but I felt it went alright. Release car to them. About Monday, I start freaking out, as I can't log into my claim on my insurance as it had been closed, and find that I also can't through the other insurance, as my "name isn't associated with any claim." Email the adjuster, she says she sent an email with new login, and that if that doesn't work, she can provide updates.

There was no email :) So, I ask for an update since the email didn't send, and she says we are jusht waiting for an estimate or if it is a total loss. Tats Tuesday, it's Saturday, now- almost two weeks after, and I get an email that she will be out of the office starting today till the 14th, directing me to call her office directly if I need something.

Am I doing this right? Should it take this long just to know what happened to your vehicle? Am I even being handled? Am I freaking out for no reason? Please, anything. I got no one in my life willing to help at the moment and google is only taking me so far.

TLDR: It's been two weeks since my accident and I have no idea whether my car is totalled or fixable, and I feel ghosted. What do?

    Square one insurance?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 10:41 AM PDT

    Hi all,

Looking at different insurance options as I'm looking to insure my condo in Ontario, Canada. I found the Square One website, and really liked how you could customize your plan. I got a quote for about 60$ a month, which is steeper than other insurers, but appears to give me really extensive coverage.

I was wondering if anybody had any experience with them for condo insurance. I don't really trust the reviews online because almost all of them are positive, which is unheard of for an insurance company, lol. Also, reviews I read online praise them for being cheaper than most, but the quote I got is much more on the higher end.

    Thanks!

First accident , need help with settlement results

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 07:38 AM PDT

I was rear ended with the other driver at fault so I was a third party in my claim . My vehicle was totaled and they offered me a 4500(acv) for the vehicle I declared to keep the vehicle for 3600. Since I was the third party the insurance didn't/refused speak to my car lender so the check is made directly out to me . Is this check still obligated to go toward my car loan or can I use towards repairing the vehicle ? Can your car lender find out about your accident if your insurance is not involved ? Thanks to any help

Also I'm Missouri if this matters

    Managing Prospects Lists

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 07:21 AM PDT

    Hi all,

How is everyone managing their prospect lists? (Not existing clients or leads - more so the people/companies you want to target in future)

I'm currently storing all this data on various excel spreadsheets (I.e name, company, email, phone) for each of the different segments I target.

Im looking for a more robust prospect management system so that I can track which leads are not interested / require follow up etc.

Does anyone have some ideas that I could look into? I've been exploring various CRMs (freshworks , active campaign , pipedrive) and they are all great but don't allow me to house unqualified lists as they require you to make each prospect a 'contact' or 'lead' in the system.

Any help / feedback / ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!
