Amazon can be a confusing place to shop. So why is it so popular?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 10:12 AM PDT

My shopping experiences with Amazon are often grueling. Unless it is for a book, it is difficult to figure out what you are buying. I needed a 12" piece of plexiglass, and it took so much grief scanning through the irrelevant listings, parsing the descriptions that are written for search engines, not people. The product filtering is terrible and challenging. Figuring out if I'm actually going to get Free Shipping or who is actually selling the product is mind-boggling.

From my perspective, Amazon's user experience is often pretty bad. Most of my recent purchases have been made simply been to save on shipping costs. Finding a piece of plexiglass from a specialist website would be easier but the cost of shipping would have been high. On Amazon, I can buy a 12" x 12" piece of acrylic and raisins in the same order.

When I look up business articles about Amazon, they tend to say things like "diversification" and "customer service", but has anyone seen something more specific about why customers shop on Amazon?

How to vet/verify military and law enforcement, personnel and veterans for discounts?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 04:01 PM PDT

I'm going to be starting up a business here soon and I plan to have pretty good discounts for military and law enforcement personnel and veterans. Now my concern is people just simply lying when placing a order. Is there a registry of some sort available to the public?

How much of my vehicle expenses can I write off as a business expense with a vinyl advertisement? + more vehicle related questions

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 01:57 PM PDT

My vehicle is personally owned, it's a sports car I have put a significant amount of money and time into. I dont drive it very often, usually on the weekends.

Often attending Cars & Coffee, and other events/car shows. If I were to put say a rear window advertisement, or a vinyl advertisement on part of the vehicle what amount of this vehicle would be able to be written off as a vehicle expense?

I'm not talking about if I can write off my engine build expenses or anything like that but would my insurance and things like mileage be able to be written off as a business expense if my vehicle is advertising my own business or is there a conflict because this is a personally owned vehicle?

Would it be possible to pay for my insurance with the money from my business? I'm assuming not but I'm jus curious.

If I were to ever race this car in events and advertise my business by sponsoring my own vehicle, what kind of things would I be able to write off or what would be a better way to financially support a motor vehicle build for racing and it be business related if my business has nothing to do with racing?

How much does your undergraduate institution play a role into breaking into the top finance firms (e.g. Wall Street)?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 01:33 PM PDT

Is the undergraduate institution you attend a deal-breaker for a lot of firms? What schools (if any) give you a significant advantage in working for a Wall Street firm straight after undergrad?

Also, do firms value a undergraduate degree or graduate degree (e.g. MBA) more?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 04:57 AM PDT

What do they help you with?

What are the pros / cons?

    Why doesn't everyone hire one?

Thought I'd ask here before I go ahead myself. Don't want to work for myself anymore & have low income. Seems like a good place to start.

    Thanks for the feedback ✌

Is it worth going to Uni for business?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 01:38 AM PDT

Hi my name is Sam I'm currently 15 and I know after school I want to go into business but specifically become and entrepreneur.

I have heard lots of opinions on if uni is really worth it? I'm maximising as many subjects at school as I can economics, business management and possibly global politics or accounting (depending on which ones run next year). I like the thought of uni- but also it's expensive and I really don't know if it's necessary?

I would love to hear lots of opinions! I do like school so like I would enjoy uni- just unsure.

So I want to work in the toy business

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 01:02 AM PDT

I'm still not sure what I want to do exactly, hence my post and reaching out to you guys who have been around the business world for a while. I'm trying to develop a business by offering a product or a service as a business owner. And while almost every business (if not all) depends on the same rules and fundamentals to stay alive and run successfully, I realized that I will want to apply that to a business related to the toy industry.

At first I thought of selling, and I still am considering that, but I want to also explore what goes into that industry overallWhat other needs can be fulfilled for either the customer or the business owner or the toy maker? What areas would you suggest looking into that are either ignored or not too crowded in the industry?

Furthermore, if I was to start selling toys, any idea what you believe is not being done that could be helpful for you or others as customers? (For example, being a retailer that offer digital instructions to all toys they sell).

P.S: I'm interested in working in the toy industry because I enjoy my time reading and browsing the toys either online or in the brick and mortar stores. It's one of the product categories that I can spend lots of time on researching and working with even when things get tiresome and hard.
