What is the best way to recruit a co-founder? Posted: 27 Feb 2021 07:30 PM PST Hi all I have a technical profile namely software engineer, I have developed a niche mobile dating application which already has over 20,000 users in 6 months and the funding comes from my own funds. I have the feeling that I need a co-founder if I want to go far, my question of knowing, those who are already going through the: - have you ever had this impression? - how did you go about finding a co-founder? - what was the basis of your collaboration? Thank you for answering me [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Feb 2021 02:21 PM PST I'm looking to test out a new idea with a rapid prototype - basically I want to setup a way for people to text me information by SMS, that SMS should automatically create a new record in a database, and that person can log into a dashboard to see their records listed out. I'm trying to figure out the best, quick, lean way to do this no or low code. I'm currently looking into if I can set up an Airtable where the SMS records will reside... But I'm trying to understand if I can somehow easily use that too for the user authentication and dashboard experience too. Basically is it possible to have an app powered by Airtable where users can sign up and login and see the Airtable records they texted to me. And is it possible to create new records from SMS within Airtable? Is a multi-user auth setup even possible with Airtable? Edit just found Stacker HQ, which may be a great dashboard front end for an Airtable backend. Edit 2 also checking out Ycode now That's my current thinking, but I'm totally open to other ideas for how this could work. My main goal is really just doing this quickly with little to no code required using services available online. This doesn't have to scale much, but I want to be able to test it with a few users before we invest more into the idea. I've also considered Bubble.io but that seems almost like overkill at this point. Also been looking into Twilio for the SMS triage part of this. Any ideas or insights or thoughts would be really appreciated at this point. Thank you! Edit Here's my current architecture diagram I'm thinking up. https://i.imgur.com/GubDfFZ.jpg [link] [comments] |
One time sale vs subscription model Posted: 27 Feb 2021 07:59 AM PST Does anybody sell desktop software using a subscription model? The software I'm developing takes advantage of native speed, full access to memory and data security of not being cloud based. Looking for resources for evaluating one time sale vs subscription model since I could go either way. I've googled it but wondering if anyone here has first hand experience. My software is in the business intelligence/data analysis field but focused on individual analysis/ automated insight and visualization, not an enterprise platform. So I was thinking around $50-100 one time purchase or $5-10/mo subscription to give some sort of price point context. Is one time purchase a thing of the past for desktop software? As a software user, I like the simplicity of one time purchase but as a business owner, I want to maximize profit. [link] [comments] |
Best service for high quality performance marketing tests (eg Facebook Ads)? Posted: 27 Feb 2021 09:43 PM PST Hey there, I'm at a point where I'm ready to start testing performance marketing for a SaaS product. Obviously it's quite easy to waste money on ads if you don't have the right mix of creative, copy and targeting. I was wondering what options are out there, short of hiring a full agency to run campaigns. I'd love some service similar to 99designs where I can commission a video and review submissions, but I imagine I'd need someone more hands on to test the copy, targeting, etc. Curious to hear if people typically found consultants on Upwork/Fiverr/Toptal or used a service like KlientBoost?
