2 Weeks Till I Begin Sales Career Sales and Selling

2 Weeks Till I Begin Sales Career

    Posted: 02 Jan 2021 09:32 AM PST

Finally made the jump out of bartending and into a SDR role at a cybersecurity SaaS company. Couldn't be more thrilled to get started!

Fully expect a training cycle but I was curious if there was any advice or information I could intake in the next two weeks before I start up.

Books to read, pod casts, YouTube, productivity, sales training, anything that would come to mind is gonna be a big help. I want to hit the ground running.

    Thanks guys, wish me luck!

I’ve been doing a side gig with some friends refurbishing furniture. We are having trouble selling.

    Posted: 01 Jan 2021 10:58 PM PST

I'm 17 and I want to be an entrepreneur. I've read a sales book and some marketing books and am trying to learn these skills.

We're using 9 different apps, but we're simply not getting a lot of views on our furniture and we haven't sold anything in about 2 weeks.

    We had two ideas:

    1. Go door to door / online and offer furniture refurbishing services

    2. Do a garage sale and advertise it as a furniture sale. We would setup signs in the area and people would hopefully come at a designated time

Where is your favorite place to find new sales jobs?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2021 02:54 PM PST

We're looking to hire a rockstar commission + base sales person for our growing digital marketing and SAAS business and wondering where you look for new jobs primarily? Indeed? LinkedIn? Somewhere else.

Thanks in advance for your input!

    Resume Poll

    Posted: 02 Jan 2021 02:07 AM PST

    Hi guys,

As a Sales Manager/Team Lead. I am wondering how many of you have embellished or outright faked some of your achievements on your resume? For Sales Managers, what are you thoughts?

Please note, I'm not looking to hear about ethics. It happens and that's a fact. I personally have caught people by testing their arithmetic skills in explaining their achievements. I also know some of my previous employees have fooled me which they confided in me at a later date.

My own personal thoughts, while it is unethical, life isn't black and white. If you can pass the sniff and eye test. I don't care. If you have the confidence in yourself to game me. I'm ok with that as long as you win and deliver. The only persona, I generally won't hire for an enterprise role is someone who sounds like Grant Cardone, I don't believe that style works well in the tech space.

How do I increase my chances of getting a BDR role during the phone screening?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2021 01:13 PM PST

I have 2 phone screenings for 2 BDR roles this monday (both companies Saas). Ive had past screenings and once advanced to 2nd interview but thats all.

I really want to get employed and want to step up my game. I have customer service/retail sales experience in which I had daily/monthly sales goals.

I also signed up for a free trial of Aspireship to see if there is any knowledge to be gained from it. I also have a BA degree.

With that in mind, what can I do to increase chances of proceeding to the next round? What should I say? Ill do anything at this point.

I'm a GenZ closer and have done $5m+ revenue in the last 12 months over the phone.

So drop your question, I'll do my best to help you.
