Sheriff doesnt seem to be interested despite having video which clearly shows company name on side of truck. No plate can be read but this company only has one truck.

I told him if he didnt pay me within 2 weeks for my damage that I would post video to all review sites where his company is listed, pursue charges, and sue in small claims, and contact the contractor's licensing board. After arguing with him for 30 mins, he agreed to pay but said I was extorting him.

I googled his company on the SOS and he's administratively dissolved. Can I even sue a company that technically doesnt exist anymore? And is threatening legal action and bad reviews extortion?

Bought a box of vintage earrings on marketplace and now the seller is asking me to return it

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 09:23 AM PST

I live in Quebec. This week I bought a box of vintage earrings on Facebook marketplace por $50. Payed through interac transfer and went to pick up the earrings at the person house. The same night I decided to purchase a second box of earrings that she had available so I sent her an extra $50 and agreed that I would pick it up the next day. The next day before I picked the second box I received a message from the seller asking me to return the first box of earrings and that she would return to me the $100 that I had sent her (for that box and for the second one). She told me that she needed to get back the earrings because they were part of an estate, and she legally had to return them to her goddaughter who was the heiress of the jewelry. She also told me that possibly later she would be able to offer them to me again but that she needed to gather them all first.

I told her I didn't have the earrings with me, she told me that legally she would contact marketplace to find out about her rights if I refused to return the earrings. I repeated that I didn't have them anymore and that if she didn't want to sell me the second box she had to return me the $50 that I had sent her. She hasn't replied back since.

I know nothing about how law works on this case, if she made the mistake of selling the earrings that supposedly belonged to her goddaughter am I going to get in trouble for having bought them? I didn't know this when I bought them. I don't even know if its true or if she just regretted selling them. I don't want to be in possession of stolen goods. Although I don't know if they could be considered stolen goods.

My question is should I return them? I had offered them to my family as Christmas presents so I could give them back. If it were true I would return them but Im not sure if she is telling the truth , I don't think she is acting in good faith by holding my $50 for the second box. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you

Also I don't know if it's relevant or not but a jewelry collector told me some of the pieces could be worth around $50 , and the rest less. There's no crazy diamonds or any sort of special gem but overall the lot was worth more that $50 which is what I paid . I don't know anything about jewelry so I had no idea of the real value of the lot when I bought it. Thank you

I found a GPS tracker on my car that is almost definitely the PI hired by my sister's husband after she left him.

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 05:00 PM PST

It was the big kind on a magnet stuck to the back of my undercarriage that I accidentally knocked off on a curb at work.

I'm in Massachusetts. He lives in Canada but has hired a local PI to find her. He's announced himself to us, called my workplace, sent pictures, etc. so I'm nearly positive the tracker is from him. My sister doesn't live with me or use this vehicle.

Is that legal? What should I do with the device? Is it safe to keep? How do I preserve it so it can be used in court?

Thanks. This is my first reddit post so let me know if you need different information.

[Thanks for the help so far everyone. Here's new thoughts as informed by everyone on the thread:

    This is the device https://www.spygeargadgets.com/xtremetrakgps-live-potable-gps-tracker-with-extended-battery-kit.html

This was probably too illegal and too amateurish for a PI. This was probably her ex himself and probably stopped transmitting months ago before coronavirus kept him in Canada.

I'll take it to the cops tomorrow, after the Nor'easter and after work. I'll let you know what feels safe to share from what I learn.]

AmeriGas left tank on my property, now they’re billing me for back rent.

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 09:16 AM PST

This might be flaired wrong as I'm not sure what it would fall under. I'm in North Carolina Purchased my home in August 2019. I contacted Amerigas in September to establish new service since the tank was already here but never received a call back. I called again in October and finally received a response. At the time I requested a service call for a safety check to make sure our gas logs were safe to use the gas the previous owner left. I didn't sign up for any services. In November 2019 I called to price gas and they emailed me a copy of the service agreement. My partner and I decided we didn't want to use their services because of how difficult it had been to even get info as a new customer. When I paid for the safety check I told them we were not interested at the time in using their services. I expected them to come pick up their tank. Fast forward to November 2020. The tank is still here so my partner said to call and ask if the previous owner had purchased the tank and if that's why it's still here. When I called (after holding, no lie, for 80+ minutes) I was told we don't own the tank and they would schedule a pickup. I asked if there was a charge and was told yes, they'll be charging us $70 to pick up their tank. That we never signed an agreement on. I did escalate the call and asked to speak with a supervisor because it seemed ridiculous to me. Another 30+ minutes hold to get on the phone with a supervisor that basically told me I'm shit out of luck. He told me they could pick the tank up in the spring but I would still be charged. He was going to "make some calls" then call me back but I've never heard back. Today, I received a bill for the past year of tank rent. What's the best approach? With the pandemic and everything I really can't afford to just throw money at them.

URGENT: Attorney Needing Advice on a Custody Battle with an International Flight Risk (Time Pertinent Due to Monday Flight Risk)

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 06:54 PM PST

I am an attorney in San Diego. I just got a new client. Her ex-husband has 1.5 year old son, and she has found that he is fleeing the country to Turkey on Monday/Tuesday. I am unsure of the time of flight, but know that Father will be in Istanbul on Wednesday 5 PM, Istanbul time. The earliest we can get in for an Ex Parte, is Tuesday afternoon which will be too late.

Concerns - My understanding is that once a child gets to Turkey, Mother will not have any rights. There is no Hague convention, and Turkey will not respect Mother's plea for custody/visitation. In addition, I feel Turkey is extremely dangerous for Americans, especially for a 1.5 year old child.

For this matter, California has proper jurisdiction. I plan on going Ex Parte, asking for immediate return of child and passport but cannot get in until Tuesday. I fear this will be too late. I have considered filing a TRO (though no abuse has occurred) on Monday morning to try to get more immediate assistance from the court.

As a note, Father is in Oklahoma with child. It is believed he is either flying out of Oklahoma or Dallas.

I have contacted local police, child abduction units, and TSA/airport police, but they have all indicated that this cannot 100% ensure they don't board that flight.

To provide some more information, Father got an Airbnb in Turkey for one month. But what stands out is that Father is not Turkish. Concerns are Father will try to flea to another country with the child.

I want to know if there is another viable strategy that can be implemented in such a short time. Thank you for any and all help.

I don't know where my son lives

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 01:31 PM PST

My ex and I have joint legal custody of our son in Virginia, while she retains the majority of physical custody (I get the standard bullshit of "every other weekend").

She has recently moved, and refuses to give me the address.

There is no protective order, no pending litigation, and no reason for me to NOT have this information.

It's not expressly written in the court order, but I thought it would be assumed being as I had joint legal.

Is this legal? Should I stop asking and just file a show cause? Can I file a show cause for such transgressions being that it's not expressly written in the order?

Another tree law question for you all

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 09:23 AM PST

I know how this sub loves tree law. Well today, I'm happy to provide. This one is a bit different from other tree questions I've seen on this sub. I'm in Colorado, and hired a local tree removal service to take down a couple of rotting cottonwoods in front of my house.

Despite the fact that he had my whole driveway to land one of them in, the tree guy chose to guide it along the edge of my parking area (without consulting me) and ended up pulling it down on top of a really nice, healthy juniper at the edge of my lawn.

The juniper was a beautiful tree which the guy estimated was probably 80 years old, and although some of it is still standing, the cottonwood fell directly on top of it and removed probably 70-80% of its branches and several feet off the top. The guy said it will almost certainly die, and what little is left standing looks absolutely terrible.

In the end he offered me $250 off my $2800 bill. I haven't paid him yet, and based off what I've learned about tree values and law from this sub, that seems like a massive low-ball. I don't have any interest in suing him; he's a nice guy who's just trying to take care of his family and survive 2020 like the rest of us, but he did admit that it was his fault and he should have aimed the tree differently, and I am out one large, mature tree that I really liked and will miss.

As we were talking at the end of the day he vaguely referred to a contract which included some sort of indemnity for collateral damage, however I reviewed the paperwork he'd given me after he left, and all I ever got from him is an estimate that has no fine print and doesn't say a single thing about collateral damage. I don't know what (if anything) he's responsible for legally, and I don't know how to feel about his offer of $250. From what I've found so far online, that's about what a 6-7 foot tall juniper would cost. The tree he killed was well over 20 feet tall.

So what do you all think? How pissed should I be? Do these things "just happen sometimes" like he said? Should I just suck it up, take the $250 and live with the loss, or should I insist on a lot more than a 9% discount on my bill? How would you all proceed?

    Thanks in advance!

Parents are trying to make me the owner of a new house, but I think they're just using me.

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 08:07 PM PST

For reference, I just turned 21 yesterday, no credit (to my knowledge), and definitely not enough money to afford a house. I'm in NY.

Today my parents told me they're trying to make me the owner of a house that they made an offer on. I think their offer was accepted. My parents said they need my ID and passport, as well as my signature for some forms. I also need to add my name to their bank account? I'm not sure what that really means. My parents were super vague.

I asked them why they needed me if I don't even have credit. They said a credit wasn't necessary to own a house, which sounds like bs. I don't see why they can't have the house under their own name?

I just need someone to explain what they're trying to do. My parents are well-known for being shady, so them making the house my bday present or something is very unlikely.

    Thank you in advance.

UPDATE: Thanks for all the advice. I understand that the lack of information made it difficult to conclude what exactly they were doing, but when it comes to it I shouldn't sign anything I don't understand.

I am trying to find all my forms of ID including my ssn, birth certificate, etc. that they've kept from me before anything else. They won't be hard to find since I know where they are. I will also perform a credit check. If it turns out I do have credit, I'm searching for these credit cards.

As some have advised, I'll find a way to speak to their attorney explaining that any signature they receive is fraudulent.

Also I'm moving out. As long as I'm under their roof, there is a chance they will blackmail me.

If there is anything else I missed, please let me know.

UPDATE 2: After checking my credit reports, I've learned that they opened up 4 different credit cards 2 weeks after I turned 18. They are also trying to take out a loan for the house under my name. That's just not going to happen.

Contractor charging us for arbitrary amount on uncompleted work, sent to collections, and claiming they did work that they did not do

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 10:01 AM PST

We hired a contractor to paint our house, and ended up having to end our contract due to an array of issues, a few of them being:

-Broke various code regulations like balancing scaffolding on the steps, jumping up and down on it, and leaving it setup in front of the door after they left

    -Painters showed up clearly high

-Left exposed nails, uncovered electrical outlets throughout the house

There are a whole slew of other reasons why we had to end the contract which I'd be happy to provide, but for the sake of brevity I'll get to the point. The company apologized for everything that went wrong, but proceeded to charge us for "80% of the work". While they did do a few days worth of painting before we ended the contract, it is no where near 80% done. Aside from that, they never provided any documentation regarding the work items to be completed, and therefore are arbitrarily asserting that 80% was done.

We contacted them to refute the charge, they asked for pictures, we sent pictures of everything (50+ pictures) along with an estimate from another contractor with the cost to fix their work, and yet they proceeded to send our bill to collections after ~30 days. With that notice, they are now claiming they did work which they absolutely did not do, and we can easily prove they did not do this.

What can we do? Does it make sense to hire a lawyer and sue them? The state that I'm in has specific Home Improvement Consumer Protection laws that should aid our case, but I need guidance as to where I should go. Should I report this to the Attorney General's office, hire an attorney to have the company stop trying to get money from us, or go all in and sue them back? Happy to provide more details if needed.

I retained an attorney, but he seems uninterested in my case

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 05:08 AM PST

I will keep this vague as he told me not to put too many details online:

I am in the Rocky Mountain region of the United States and had serious injuries from a malfunctioning ski lift a few months ago. Due to the severity of my injuries I quickly retained a lawyer. I paid him up front for all fees, he has no hourly rate and what I paid him was all inclusive including representation of me when this goes to court. My case has a court date of approximately a year from now.

However, as I have been working with him I have found that he is not too fond of my personality. I am in a lot of pain from my injuries and at times I have become frustrated with the legal process. Even though I am very polite I do whine a bit more than I did before my accident, and I think this annoys him. He's made comments toward me like "a fat man like you shouldn't have ever gone skiing, of course the ski lift would have broke," which is true, but still hurts. Maybe I'm too sensitive.

However, at the end of the day, I find him not replying to emails and rarely returning my calls.

I have, through the grapevine, found a few other attorneys who are more willing to spend time talking to me and figuring this whole thing out. I have multiple broken bones, am currently bound to a wheelchair due to spinal injuries from the accident, and my recovery is estimated to take 3-4 years at the cost of $150,000 - something I won't be able to afford without winning this case.

Has anyone here worked with an attorney they retained up front, yet seemed to disappear as soon as they were hired? My lawyer has a reputation for being one of the best in the Rockies, has specific experience with ski lift accidents, and has no negative reviews in his 20 years of practicing law.

(Arlington, TX) Landlord says they will be changing my locks because they don't have a key.

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 08:01 AM PST

My landlord left a note on my door yesterday (12/4) stating that they didn't have a copy of my key and unless I give them a copy or provide my copy for them to copy by 12/7 at 10am, they will be changing the locks. They did state in the letter that I could pick up a copy of the new key during business hours.

The problem I have is that their business hours are 9a-5p Monday through Friday and due to events happening at work I am not able to modify my schedule next week and I work 8a-5p the entire week. I am wondering what recourse I have when they change the locks on Monday since I will be arriving home after the leasing office closes for the day and they traditionally do not answer their email address or phone number after hours. Also, it seems odd that they don't have a key to my apartment as they replaced the oven on the same day they left the note on the door.

    Thanks for all assistance.

Charged for utilities on an old account after moving out, even after finalizing account

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 07:43 AM PST

So to make a long story short, I moved into an apartment a few years ago, setup the utilities and went about my business. After a few months, national grid stopped charging me for electricity, and only charged me for gas. When the property manager contacted me about it, I called national grid and they had me set up a new account where I was then charged for electric/gas as normal.

I moved out a few years later, and after this account was finalized, they started to automatically charge my old account - the one they mysteriously stopped charging before. Every attempt to contact national grid and get it sorted out was met with confusion and I didn't get anywhere. They've finally managed to link the two accounts months later so I can stop service - but am I entitled to a refund of any kind? I never authorized them to go charge this other account, and it feels like this was a huge screwup on their end. I wasn't ever able to login to the account because when I used my information, it would login to the new account, rather than the one that was being charged, and it took them forever to link the two so I could cancel payments (it was on autopay when I first set it up).

Asking a real life friend I was told to do a chargeback, but I don't want to do something that drastic unless I have to.

The apartment is in Syracuse, New York.

Something extremely bizarre is happening at a retail store in my city. I’m considering reporting it

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 02:45 PM PST

I don't really know what category this is in, but something very suspicious and bizarre is happening at a local retail store. So from my memory, I seem to recall this being a Sears a few years ago, but it "closed down"

I'm going to try my best to explain what's happening here, let me know what you think it is. The store will have zero cars in the parking lot or surrounding area, there is no sign on top of the building or anywhere near. It looks completely abandoned on the inside. However, you are still able to get inside. This is where it gets really disturbing. The lights and air conditioning are always on. The store itself is stocked full of clothing and other items

The inside feels like any open and functional retail store. Yet there's nobody inside. There's no customers, no employees, nobody. There's no branding either. The cash registers remain empty and unguarded. Truly disturbing and bizarre. It would be broad daylight, and not a single employee or person in the store. I made this discovery about 3 months ago, I thought it was weird and disturbing, but ignored it until recently

However ended up driving by the same location recently, and curiosity got the better of me. I figured that the store must have been closed so I didn't get my hopes up. But to my surprise, it was open. I immediately left feeling uncomfortable and uneasy. This was around 5:00 or 6:00 pm, not a single car in the parking lot, not a single employee in the store, not a single customer. Yet once again, stocked full of clothes, lights are on, air conditioned

This is a very confusing situation for me. I know that something here is extremely wrong. I'm considering reporting it now, but what should I even tell them? Does anyone have any idea what kind of crime could be happening here? Or if it's organized crime, what purpose would the owner have for leaving the shop open? I'm confused and it's been rattling in my mind for the last 2 days

What kind of crime is being committed here? how should I go about reporting it? And is it safe to return to the store?

Edit: I live in SouthWest Canada, but I prefer to keep my exact location private if I may

If I bought a game console, and let someone use it I can take it back. Correct?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 08:06 AM PST

My aunt and uncle took my switch because I had two and I wasn't using one.. the second one broke and I'm not dealing with repairing it because I have 10 days till I go on a trip. I asked for the old one back and they are giving me issues.. they have there own and a whole library of games.. the only reason they used mine was because I had a game downloaded they wanted to play it. They only played it on weekends at first but now they use it daily and I've been trying to get it back.. today I told them my other one wasn't working and I felt bad but I needed the one they had back till I got it fixed.. they said no because they use it and maybe I can just take there's.. I don't want there's I want mine.. the one I saved up for months and bought. I've asked my mom for help and she said just to buy a new one and get over it.. I can't afford another one. I can just take it from them right? They can't keep it because I bought it? They also keep making me feel bad over taking it back.

(CA) Son's mother got an emergency and ex-parte order allowing him to move out of state with her after I had served her custody orders. Options?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 01:02 PM PST

    Hello,

Long story short. My son's mother wants to move out of state with my son. I oppose. I serve custody and visitation orders. She evades for quite some time but is finally served. She then somehow gets emergency orders (not sure how when what you have to prove is very strict) and an ex-parte. I had no idea there would be a temporary hearing at all. Her attorney did call a few days before the emergency hearing and left a vague message about going to court to try and get orders and that I "should" be there. All vague but probably legal. Only issue is I was never served with papers until yesterday long after the emergency hearing so I had no chance to defend myself. There is another hearing for permanent orders in a month. Do I have options. I am going to submit a response to her FL-300 but not sure if I am the respondent now even though I am the original petitioner?

Was I properly served and notified in the proper time?

From the Declaration Regarding Notice and / or Request for Waiver of Notice of Request for Emergency Orders (Ex Parte Orders)

NOTICE: The Court cannot consider your request for emergency orders unless you have given notice as required by California Rules of Court, rules 5.151, 5.165 and 5.167. If you or a family member needs domestic violence or child abuse protection, please use the Domestic Violence Protection Act forms (DV-100, DV-109 and DV-110).

INSTRUCTIONS: You must give notice to all parties or their attorneys no later than 10:00 a.m., on the court day before the emergency hearing. After providing notice, you must serve your documents requesting emergency orders on all parties or their attorneys at the first reasonable opportunity. Your proof of service should be filed separately from this declaration. You may ask the court to waive notice under Rule 5.165(b)(2) or service under Rule 5.167(a) by filling out Section C of this form. If you need more space, attach form MC-025 or attach a sheet of paper and write your name and case number at the top.

    Storage Unit locked me out

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 10:02 AM PST

Dallas, TX. My storage unit has changed the locks on us. For no real reason. We have not missed a payment or even been late on a payment. We are on an auto withdraw each month. We went to unlock the unit and realized that the locks had been changed. We are 100% sure we are using the correct keys. Talked to the office and they told us we would have to pay a charge to cut the lock off and then buy a new lock from them to replace it. Seems like a nickel and dime scam to me. They've been less than help full almost rude. Not that matters legally. Nobody can provide answers. They keep telling me there would be no reason they change the locks. The locks have been clearly changed though. Not even the same brand of lock that we originally bought. I'm absolutely fed up and refuse to pay any extra money for this. I can't get a hold of the corporate offices either. Am I legally allowed to cut the lock off myself? Can I face trespassing or property damage suites if I cut it myself? Should I threaten small claims? Any insight on would be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

How do I get off of SSI without penalty?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 10:58 AM PST

A few years back, my family pressured me into getting onto SSI Disability, saying that because I am on the Autism Spectrum, I am incapable of holding down a job or being independent in any way. I have held a paying part-time job for the last two years, and I held a different one for the last year before that, so I know this is not true, but even with my skills, I cannot secure a career in the field I want while I am on SSI.

The problem is, I never wanted to be on SSI in the first place, and I am constantly being told that I will lose my insurance and be arrested if I get off of it, essentially deadlocking me where I am. I guess what I'm really asking is two-fold: Is it true that I will lose my insurance and can be arrested over this, and if not, how do I go about getting off of it without being penalized?

P.S. I live in Northern Indiana in the United States, if that's important.

My Landlord is Making Us Pay a Huge Portion of Our Neighbors Electricity. I’m Not Sure What to Do Here.

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 02:35 PM PST

So me and my bf have lived here for almost 3 years. The first year we lived here we noticed our bill was outrageously high. (Around $250-$400 depending on the time of year)

At first this made no sense to us. Our apartment is really small, almost like a studio, so we weren't sure how this was being calculated. We have called our provider many times with no solution and with many appointments unmet. We even confronted our landlord about this to which he responded the bill will go up durning winter and left it at that.

Upon more digging we realized this 3 family home we are in only has 2 meters. We assumed there should be 3 as there are 3 peoples living here, and this is a pretty make shift old home in NJ. Even our landlords contractor tipped us off, saying that he's a shady guy that has the whole place "Mickey moused" and we should look into our electric and utilities more.

We've even enquired our neighbors about their bill to which they said they only pay a wapping $30-$50 bill. We know our power and heating is connected to them because our landlord will ask us every year to turn up the heat because they are cold.

We've searched our lease and there is no blatant sign that he included this as a mandatory facet of our residency. But, I have no legal background, so I can't say 100%.

Please some help us. Any insight is welcomed. Our bill is IMPOSSIBLE to keep up with and now we are sitting on over $1,500 for just an electric bill.

I would love to find some type of legal action, I'm just not sure if my case is viable. I have never had to deal with something like this before.

[US] Can I create a software product which mimics the behavior of an internal tool at my company?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 07:15 AM PST

I currently work on a team coding a utility to be used internally at my company, which is a large corporation. Would I be able to start my own software company and create a tool which functions almost exactly the same? I would be coding from scratch, essentially duplicating the work, but then everything would be my own implementation. Also, some functionality would be added that is not currently there as it was rejected when offered.

I know when you work for a company, the code you create is owned by them. I would not be taking any of their code, just the basic overall ideas. Would I face any legal issues because of this?

This is a US company based in CA, but has offices nationwide.

Apartment landlord violating utility shut-off order

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 11:45 AM PST

My apartment has continuously provided a one day notice when shutting off the water for renovations. Illinois requires a 7 day notice for such shut-offs. I notified management of this, yet they continue to give improper notice anyways. Are their any options for me to pursue this legally other than through a lawyer? Illinois AG office said they don't help with things like this and I haven't found any resources through my local county's website.

[FL] HOA gave 6 days’ notice for meeting to discuss budget and assessment. During meeting, distributed inaccurate list of delinquent accounts with names and addresses.

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 01:44 PM PST

    Title says it all.

I believe the short notice of a meeting discussing the levying of an assessment violates Florida law. Additionally, FL law requires notice to be posted conspicuously AND mailed to homeowners 14 days in advance of this type of meeting.

Additionally, many homeowners whose names appeared on the printed and distributed list of delinquent accounts are PO'ed because their accounts are in good standing. Some are discussing defamation issues.

We transitioned to a new property management company and they're saying it can take several months for account information to transition over. Additionally, the only payment method they offer that doesn't include "convenience fees" is to mail a check to a PO Box on the west coast. Several homeowners allege their payments were lost, delayed, etc.

Our HOA keeps a lawyer on retainer and this person attends all meetings and oversees all activity. This leads me to believe everything is in line with FL law.

    1. Is the short notice of a budget/assessment meeting illegal? These issues were discussed/proposed, but no assessment was officially levied, to the best of my understanding. If so, what can be done?

    2. I assume the distribution of a list of delinquent accounts is legal but unprofessional. Is there anything legal that can prevent further occurrences?

    3. What is the legal definition of "conspicuous" as it pertains to posting meeting notice? Our neighborhood has multiple entrances and exits. One "yard sale" style (16" x 24") was posted at one exit.

Unoccupied next door house's owner has allowed a dude to park his camper in the backyard and live there.

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 07:46 AM PST

He has been there for over a year now. Every month when the lady across the street grills on when he's leaving, he tells her he's leaving "next month." Obviously, he has no plans of leaving. The yard has turned into a junkyard, he burns plastics and insulation in open fires. He is extremely rude and aggressive to anyone who questions him, makes extremely crude and racist remarks to people he feels have slighted him.

Who do I call? I live in a city, I have no idea if this is legal nor how to look into it. The poor broad across the street has balls of brass and is constantly scrutinizing him despite the crudeness and racism, I'm afraid it will escalate and would like to resolve the situation before it gets violent.
