Green: Bullish+lets talk bout it ALL BOLD IS IMPORTANT BUT MOST OF IT IS NICE TO KNOW IF YOU WANT TO BE LONG They are in talks with MICROVAST which, a couple brokers even stated that it actually is a done deal, but things can be lost in translation, they will have to extend for a DA(Definitive Agreement) for the merger acquisition(DECEMBER 3rd DEADLINE). BECAUSE THEY ARE A SPAC THAT IS NEARING THEIR EXPIRATION FOR ACQUIRING A STOCK, 2 YEARS, WHEN THEY DO THE 90 DAY EXTENSION THAT MEANS THEY ARE TRUSTING IT TO HAPPEN OR ELSE WHY EXTEND. GET IT? IT IS A GIVEN 13$ STOCK THAT IS A HUGE BATTERY EV COMPANY, UNDERVALUED. Chinese stocks a step closer to getting removed from US due to auditing rules Posted: 27 Nov 2020 06:40 PM PST TLDR Your favorite Chinese stocks will be fine. Nio, Xpev, and BABA are all audited independently by Pricewaterhousecoopers. Earlier this year BABA's CFO said they anticipate no problem with complying with US regulations. WSJ reports that next week the House will consider a measure that will force Chinese companies traded on American exchanges to follow American auditing rules -- or face getting delisted. This proposal has strong bipartisan support. The Senate version was passed unanimously. Reasons why it might not pass:
Good news:
The biggest companies hit will be the directly state-owned companies. They will probably never say yes to US auditing. You can find a list of China state-owned companies here (PDF) -- they are the companies with asterixis next to their names. Note the most popular Chinese stocks are not state-owned: BABA, JD, PDD, NTES, NIO, TME, YUMC, IQ, LI, XPEV, WB, DOYO, JKS, NIU, KNDI, and BYD. Analysis When this news hit the general public on Monday, you will see at 3-5% drop in some Chinese stocks. People are not going to read the entire article. They are just going to read the headline and start panicking. I think this represents a good opportunity to buy the dip on some of these companies, especially BABA -- which is criminally undervalued, and BYD -- the best EV play and Warren Buffett stock that no one is talking about. Our favorite meme stocks like NIO and XPEV are going to be fine. These companies are looking forward to penetrating the American market -- they are not going to jeopardize their relationship with America by refusing auditing rules. [link] [comments] |
Difference between TQQQ and QQQ3 Posted: 28 Nov 2020 02:59 AM PST Hi everyone, I've been looking into leveraged ETFs on the Nasdaq and ran into the two above. Any idea why they have the same underlying (Nasdaq / QQQ) and targets (deliver x3 returns) but they nevertheless deliver different returns over time? Also, it appears that QQQ3 has a lower management fee of 0.75% vs 0.95% for TQQQ - are there any downsides with investing in QQQ3 as opposed to TQQQ? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Nov 2020 02:11 AM PST ING (Groep N.V.) is now trading at 12.59 projected PE and did not show any negative quarter throughout COVID-crisis. Interest Rates are ultra-low in Europe due to Government ciris measures (QE in US is particular, which resonates in Europe). A bunch of people will be getting loans to invest in real estate (+ other stuff, especially during "Revenge speniding" expected after COVID). Am I missing something? Or is it a good buying opportunity now? [link] [comments] |
Does Fidelity not pay out NTDOY Dividends? Posted: 28 Nov 2020 03:13 AM PST I noticed the other day that in Fidelity Brokerage's quotes, Nintendo's ADR stock NTDOY last paid a divided on 12/18/2018 but I know that Nintendo has been paying dividends since then according to Nintendo's website: https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/stock/dividend/index.html Did something change and Fidelity no longer gives you the dividends on it? NTDOF doesn't have any dividends listed either. [link] [comments] |
Wash Sale Rule Triggered! Please help me understand Posted: 28 Nov 2020 12:50 AM PST If a wash sale rule triggered, will the date changes? Do I have to hold the for 30 or 60 more days to get out of this stupid rule? I currently have HYLN warrants, and I want to sell at a loss so I can write off taxes, but I innocently triggered wash sale rule twice (thought I was safe to sell). Wonder what steps can I do. I think the best way is to hold these warrants? Though it would be annoying to convert them to shares, I would like to understand when can I sell for losses. Background: I purchased 300 warrants originally, then I sold some gains on SHLL shares to buy 100 more pre-converted HYLN (still SHLL)warrant around 10/1. Then I sold 18 days(ish) later to realize it would triggered a wash sale. That's fine. Then i impulsively purchased 50 more about less than 1 month later, then I just sold 50 warrants 25 days or so later which was 2 days or so ago (2nd triggered). Thank you for reading! Why do we talk so much about “Robin hood Traders” Posted: 27 Nov 2020 03:10 PM PST Self managed discount brokers have been very hot recently pushed by young adults. Looks like if you are a young adult trading on the market, you fit the "Robin hood" category. A lot of analysts was explaining the big push of Tech stocks during the dip recovery due to this new generation of Robin hood trader. That is the explanation for Tesla and NIO having an "overvalued" price. However, anyone who has financial knowledge knows that small retail investors do not have a significant influence on the market. Do you really think that the most broke generation, investing their 20k, can alone push the market so high? The big players are the pension funds, endowments funds, investment funds, hedge funds, corporations, all the boomers got a shitload of money. So I don't understand why I see sometimes financial guys on TV mentioning "Robin Hood Traders" when they are trying to explain a high valuation of a certain stock. I am sure it is a drop in the sea, it is not like Robin Hood traders were the FED being able to print money at an infinite rate to put in their beloved stocks. [link] [comments] |
Why don’t you follow r/WallStreetBets? Posted: 28 Nov 2020 04:00 AM PST People here should jump on those meme stocks. It's been working for us. I've probably made triple the amount you have made the last 4-6 years just since March... I'm at 1600%. It won't hurt you. And you don't have to be in it for the long run. Just ride the wave 🌊. Portfoilio tracker/manager website/app that accounts for inflation? Posted: 28 Nov 2020 03:08 AM PST Hi, Really as per subject: Can anyone recommend a good portfolio tracker/management website or app that can account for inflation - that is indicate "real" profits based on buy/sell dates? Will need to allow manual entry of funds not on many data feeds. Yahoo Finance doesn't seem to do this, unless I can't find the feature. I'm UK based, but as long as the system is reasonably location agnostic, it does not have to be a UK based system. I don't mind entering inflation data manually either. Don't mind if free or sensible fee. Priority is "overall profit/loss estimation", less bothered about deep research and data as I can go elsewhere for that. Thanks folks :) [link] [comments] |
Sharing your favorite stock advisor service Posted: 28 Nov 2020 12:40 AM PST I'm just curious. Do folks here currently, share/would be interested in sharing, your paid subscriptions to your favorite stock picker or advisory services? With services like AccessUrl, you could split or double the benefits of your currently paid subscription services with each other. Do you? Would you? [link] [comments] |
Is the market in a bubble and, if so, what will pop it? Posted: 27 Nov 2020 08:46 PM PST Lots of analysts seem to believe we're in the midst of a stock market bubble, quite probably a very large one. I'm not sure how much to believe them but it seems likely to me. Feels really weird that in this time when big segments of the economy are being hit really hard, the market is rising like mad. Are we in a major bubble? Why or why not? If we are, what event or kind of event do you expect will trigger the pop? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Nov 2020 07:35 PM PST Hello everyone, I'm new to investing, but have been doing loads of research the past couple of weeks. I know im interested in renewables, and have come across a company called quantumscape. They mainly are involved with solid state lithium ion batteries. Can anyone give me any advice on this one? Interested in it. [link] [comments] |
Is it better to exit trades at predetermined points or just keep rising stop loss until stopped out? Posted: 28 Nov 2020 02:50 AM PST Which method makes more sense? 1. You enter trade, set a stop loss and set an exit point. 2. You enter trade, set a stop loss and don't set exit point, yet keep rising the stop loss as asset goes up. Which do you think makes more sense? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Nov 2020 01:59 AM PST Investing in bonds seems more difficult? Sure you can get dividends, but now I look that the price skyrocketed compared in the past, and suppose I'll sell in 1-2years (suppose economy will slowly recover) and the bond price will go down, then it's pretty much a loss correct? Meaning, it's not good to make in bond investment at this stage? [link] [comments] |
Practical difference between Options and Warrants? Posted: 27 Nov 2020 12:17 PM PST Hi. I am kind of new to Options and Warrants, so I have this here question: For me, a buyer, what are the practical differences that directly affect me between Options and Warrants? I have looked up the differences and I know there are definitely many, but to me as a buyer, does it matter? Both give me the right to buy or sell a specific stock at a certain price. Is there a difference in the way the strike price or delta is calculated? I haven't found an explanation to that which I can understand properly. I know Options aren't r/investing's fav thing, but I thought I might at least get an educated answer here. Thanks for your time :) [link] [comments] |
Thoughts on marijuana companies? Posted: 28 Nov 2020 12:27 AM PST It's been announced that the house will hold a vote this upcoming week and the federal decriminalization of marijuana, and am curious on everyone's opinions on whether it would be a good or bad time to invest into these companies, I personally only see growth or staying even as a possible outcome for this event. Bond investing: The fallen angels strategy? Posted: 27 Nov 2020 06:21 PM PST Soon to acquire a lump sum that I can use to retire debt at 2.75% (a mortgage of course) or else invest it somewhere. My time horizon is 5+ years so I can tolerate moderate-length drawdowns. I'm contemplating a mix of $ANGL and $FALN with some ??? sprinkled-in. Curious to hear your opinions of fallen angels as a multi-year and possibly multi-decade investment strategy. Primer here (PDF): https://content.ftserussell.com/sites/default/files/research/fallen-angels-in-the-credit-market.pdf?_ga=2.188902690.860717559.1606523416-540375139.1606523416 the summary:
My shitty tl;dr: Fallen angels are formerly investment grade bonds that have slipped below BB- and thus become "junk" which entails a bunch of forced selling from every direction. As a fallen angel they can be acquired well below par. The majority of these regain their investment grade status which means they eventually get sold much closer to par. It's a mechanical "buy low sell high" strategy that has worked remarkably well (edit:at least) since 2002. Thoughts on the risk-adjusted return of fallen angels? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Nov 2020 11:38 PM PST I own a small position in ELY that I bought after last months dip following the news of the top golf acquisition. After hours today ELY dropped over 8%, and I can't figure out why. I searched the news for any articles or explanations but nothing. Was this a pump and dump run? Or something else. Anyone have a explanation for this? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
What does diversification mean to you? Posted: 27 Nov 2020 08:42 AM PST I'm curious what everyone is doing for diversification. More specifically a breakdown between: number of individual stocks Percentage in individual stocks Percentage in Funds/ETFs I own 12 stocks that make up 40% of my portfolio and 60% is in index funds [link] [comments] |
Investing in defense companies? Posted: 27 Nov 2020 10:35 PM PST Hi guys I am quite new to investing and don't have a lot of money to put into it(something like 3-4k),but wanted to get into it anyway and see what comes out. I did some research and I am generally interested in the defense industry so I decided to buy some stocks of companies in this sector. I think it is an industry with a lot of potential given the fact that defense spending is at all time high since the collapse of the SSSR. My plan is to buy something and keep it long term. Any advise or recommendation is much appreciated. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 27 Nov 2020 09:54 AM PST Recently many electric companies have seen rallies like none other companies like Tesla and Nio, Xpeng, Nikola, Li and Blink have almost rise to prominence overnight.
