    Advice understanding the bigger picture

    Posted: 01 Jul 2020 12:42 AM PDT

hi everyone , i know this is a bit off topic but... I'm a 21 year old and my Passion is Business, i have been studying business for a around a year now ( stock market , drop shipping , a bit of economy , real estate, a bit of marketing ...) and my goal for the future is to become a entrepreneur. But i feel like i need to nail the basics in order to understand the bigger picture of this world ( economy , how everything works...) .

Any advice what concepts i should learn first ? or wich books should i read? my guess is i should start with the economy? any good books for that?

    Thank you

New North American trade deal launches under growing threat of disputes

No, 2020 isn't over yet. Here we're in the second half of 2020

    Posted: 01 Jul 2020 03:50 AM PDT

You're reading this means we should be grateful for being safe and in good health and also take away some important lessons we learned.

    What lessons?

    1. Nature: we need to take care of our planet by doing our bit, be it a plastic issue or a disease like Corona.

    2. Hygiene: Keeping a check on what we consume and focusing on improving our immunity. Devoting at least 30-40 mins a day, for exercise, yoga, and meditation.

    3. Mental health: Often ignored, but is the sole reason for almost 90% of our life issues.

    4. Savings: How "bad investments" and "nice to have materialized things/liabilities" can drag us back to square 1.

    Last, but not least,

    1. The importance of continuous learning, up-skilling, and re-skilling: It doesn't just add value but will make us irreplaceable.

2020 marks the beginning of a whole new era. It showed us how resilient we're individually or at the company level.

So, make the most out of the next six months because "No, whole 2020 is not going to be the same"

Every crisis brings along opportunities in some or other way. Be grateful, help others, and let's bounce back stronger with these takeaways

I pray we all have a Happy, Healthy, Peaceful, and an opportunistic year ahead.

    Be grateful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GtuZSuKEvc

How to best document times in multiple time zones on a static document

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 10:16 PM PDT

Hope I'm posting in a relevant sub, but I couldn't think where else to do so. Surely some great business minds can help!

I'm preparing a document that lists support hours based on the Australian business day (ie. 8am-5pm AEST). I'd like to also list what those same hours would be in the US (ie. currently 3pm-12am PDT), but I'm unsure how best to do this in a static document due to the constant changes of daylight savings (in both countries, moving opposite directions, and moving forward/back on different days). If I list in PDT, it will likely be confusing when the US switches back to PST, and Australia moves to AEDT.

Is there an accepted way to document these times that will be accurate regardless of the time of year? I suppose I could also include the UTC time, but still not ideal. Any ideas?

Which platform to use for financial deposits?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 08:35 PM PDT

Our startup is trying to find a secure platform that allows us to hold security payments for customers, without charging them the amount as a holding amount or fee before the transaction goes through. Similar to the ways that hotels have security deposits set up - where they keep your info on file but don't charge you immediately. We are a startup in healthtech so we are looking for providers instead of doing it through bank systems. It needs to be a global secure system that is for sure a requirement!

Make 2,500$ online in 5 months. Advice?

    Posted: 01 Jul 2020 02:07 AM PDT

    Hello!
I've decided I'm gonna try to make 2,500$ online as a side-buisness before 2021. I have some experience in drop-shipping and shopify but never managed to make a profit. I'm gonna spend 1-2 hours everyday working on this side project.

Any advice what I can do?

I'm trying to start a business. Help me with refining the idea.

    Posted: 01 Jul 2020 12:20 AM PDT

Hey, this is going to be a long post but please bear with me.

I'm from India (the country of the oldest culture in the world). I worked with a travel startup for five months and got the opportunity to learn about tourism in more than 50 countries.

During my job, I observed that most of the countries had activities/experience tour packages, which tourists used to buy in order to know about culture of that place.

To explain you better, I'm writing down some types of activities/experiences a tourist can try while traveling-

    • Food tour in Athens • Sumo wrestling in Japan • Wine Tour in New Zealand • Fish Market tour in Indonesia • Cooking classes tour in Thailand • Souvenir handicraft tour in Turkey

What I'm trying to explain is that you'll most likely find a tour that relates to the local culture. Most of the countries have successfully found a way to earn from their culture.

I'm not happy to say but I realized that India is lagging way behind most of the countries. Tour packages are not well organized here.

I don't know how many people know about India but I can guarantee that there is no place where you will find more such activities or experiences than in India.

To support my statement, I'll quickly present you a glimpse what travelers can expect in India other than popular monuments/attractions-

    • Dhanurvidya (the ancient art of Bows and Arrows)

    • The sacred Ganga Aarti (amazing experience on the banks of River Ganga)

    • Food Tour (There are so many authentic foods in India that I can't even mention here)

    • Kolhapuri Chappal production tour (special world-famous footwear manufacturing tour)

    • Shopping Tour (variety of clothing, fruits etc.)

    • Folk Dance experience (you can find more than 20 different folk dance in India)

    • Yoga experience

    • Dangal (Wrestling experience)

    • And a lot more experiences that I just can't mention here...

Now, let's come back to the point.

I know that there is immense opportunity in tourism in India. But, the real issue is how can I monetize these activities/experiences? Am I thinking in the right way? Can I bring change to Indian tourism alone? What can I do?

There are a lot of questions in my mind and I can't figure out what and how to fill this loopholes in the travel industry?

I need your help. What do you think? I welcome your opinion, support, and thoughts on it.

    Thank you so much.
