Double Dip? Given the remote nature of work now could you pull off 2 sales jobs at once? Posted: 25 Jun 2020 08:02 AM PDT Waxing philosophic here bc I have a new job offer (w2) and I'm pretty sure my current sales job (1099) would never know if I took it. And the new one is managed by a guy across the country and I don't think he would know. Lol. I'll quit and be ethical but it's tempting!! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jun 2020 12:40 PM PDT So I ended up landing an AE role at a SaaS company - thanks everyone for your interview help and advice overall! This sub is the best FYI I was the person trying to switch from agency recruiting into tech sales. Didn't have to settle for a BDR role after all :) [link] [comments] |
BDR to AE vs. End-to End Sales: What’s the difference? Posted: 25 Jun 2020 12:55 PM PDT AEs: What does your day look like, and how does your sales cycle work? Do you still make cold calls, or are you always handed meetings to close? I've always been in end-to-end sales, so I do everything from cold calls to meetings to implementation. I've been in President's Club, promoted twice now, and nothing has changed in the cycle, so it's incredibly monotonous. Curious what other setups look like as I've only been with one company and seen one side of it. [link] [comments] |
Anyone here sells for a FB ad agency? (local businesses specifically) Posted: 25 Jun 2020 11:56 AM PDT Curious to see who here has EXP. in selling FB ads to local businesses. I would love to know about got you started and overall thoughts! (SEO, Insta ads, Youtube ads also can count.) T.I.A [link] [comments] |
Question about paid prospecting lists Posted: 25 Jun 2020 12:39 PM PDT my company is trying to research how to utilize a service/app/software/website that provides prospecting lists of either companies and/or companies + leads i.e. we want a list of 200 coffee brands in the US or we want a list of 500 beverage brands + the VP of marketing at each company? any recommendations and guesses at price for something like that? Can someone help rate my first email sales pitch? Posted: 25 Jun 2020 06:31 AM PDT I work with a digital marketing agency. I usually do the marketing but now I am trying to sell the services we offer. This was the first draft I made of my first pitch. I tried to replicate my boss' pitch, but how does this sound to you guys? For a little context, this man owns a supplement brand and sells his own supplements. Thanks. Email: [link] [comments] |
How shitty was your COVID-quarter ? Posted: 25 Jun 2020 11:06 AM PDT Well this was fun 😐...things are speeding up though! Keep on keeping on...lads. Cheers [link] [comments] |
Which industries need to digitally transform their sales process the most? Posted: 25 Jun 2020 08:51 AM PDT I've recently launched a freelance B2B sales consulting practice. Among other things, I want to help businesses modernize their sales processes. (ie; CRM, automations, virtual meetings). Due to Covid-19, a lot of businesses don't have a choice but to go digital, but it could be a painful process if they don't know where to start. Can anyone recommend industries that would benefit the most from this kind of thing? I want to focus on small to mid-sized companies, as I'm just getting started and it'll be easier to get my foot in the door. [link] [comments] |
Unsure if my last job will make interviewers think I am too unethical Posted: 25 Jun 2020 02:02 PM PDT So basically I graduated college 1.5 years ago and I haven't had a "real" job since. Instead I created a website and LLC for professional essay writing. I am naturally a good writer and would frequently write other people's assignments in college. I'd make anywhere from $15-30 an hour depending on the level of research required for the paper. I contracted out a few other writers and took a small cut, but did the bulk of the work myself. I acquired leads mostly through word of mouth and referral incentives, including some flyering at local colleges. I avoided social media because I didn't want to grow the business too much because even though what I was doing was legal, I felt like it opened me up to legal liabilities. Having to defend myself in even one lawsuit would've fucked me so I just kept it small. I was making more than enough to survive from and didn't wanna get greedy. I ultimately stopped because the virus really damaged my cash flow. Students now were at home and had no jobs or social lives to distract them. I also began to have issues with the ethical element of what I was doing. Almost all students cheat but I was facilitating it for profit, and that didn't sit right with me after a while. So, my question is, will this information make me look like a bad candidate or like someone who is self-motivated and intelligent in the eyes of an interviewer? I know it wouldn't go against me for certain industries but I want to break into B2B sales, ideally in SaaS. If I explained my previous company to an interviewer in the exact same way I just did, would it go against me? Should I lie and spin it to say that I was just doing remote tutoring and essay editing? Thank you guys for your help, can't wait to become a salesperson. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jun 2020 09:59 AM PDT Hello. I am in a summer internship currently working as a treasury operations intern. It's pay is awesome, but I hate it. I have been networking like crazy with the sales branch at my company, and have made fantastic connections. I even got some of them who were willing to find work for me to do that could give me experience. But just today, my boss told me that I couldn't do any of the sales work (even though I offered to do it only on weekends or after work without pay). I was angry to say the least, but I kept my mouth shut and said it was fine. He didn't seem like he was going to budge and I didn't want to compromise my relationship with him. Anyway, I really want to go into sales and am hungry for experience. If you are feeling inclined to give an aspiring salesman any experience whatsoever, please send a DM and I'd be happy to talk to you about it. I will do the bitch work of the bitch work, I will deliver you a freaking virtual coffee if you want it, I don't care. I just want experience. [link] [comments] |
D2D salesmen looking to break into saas. (Looking for most efficient route) Posted: 25 Jun 2020 01:28 PM PDT Hello everyone I'm 25 and have worked for an alarm/smarthome company for the past 2 or 3 years selling D2D in the Miami, Fort Lauderdale area. I love the hunt of sales but want to transition into something else as I feel I have gained the principles needed to move on to greener pastures. What would be my best route? 1.should I start contacting managers directly through LinkedIn to see who might take a chance on hiring me at a starting position?(I know that d2d experience is respected in a lot of spaces) 2.should I just take my but to school to get a degree to increase hiring probability? Any advice would be much appreciated. Short background on me At 20 I went to school to become a Registered nurse and found out 2 years later via the local news that it was an unaccredited ponzi scheme that had closed from one day to the next due to running out of funds. At 22 I decided to take things into my own hands and do D2D sales because being baptized in the fire would only make me better that much faster. Now at 25, I realize that I don't want to do D2D Longterm and am looking for a way out into a better career path. What would you do?😀 [link] [comments] |

Door-to-Door Point-of-Sale Solutions for Restauraunts (SpotOn) Posted: 25 Jun 2020 12:31 PM PDT Hi Everyone! My friend (really, haha, it's not me!) is furloughed and receiving unemployment in a state that is blowing up with COVID right now, but is really concerned about his benefits running dry after July and being jobless. He found a position with SpotOn, which he's inclined to accept. It's your typical door-to/door cold soliciting to sell PoS systems. I'm a former retail store owner who was already so tired of being bombarded by PayPal, ADP, Lightspeed, Four Star and so many other business solutions companies in my store without a pandemic. With what's going on now, I can't imagine he'll be met with any business owner or manager willing to lend an ear to a PoS sales pitch when they don't even know if they'll be open for business next week should an employee test positive. I'm reaching out hoping to find anyone else working B2B outside sales, especially in the restaurant industry, who may be able to share some insight on their experiences as of late so that my friend can make his decision on whether he should try with SpotOn or hope unemployment gets extended until his company lifts furlough. Thanks so much in advance! [link] [comments] |
Looking for a mattress sales expert to coach and train my brother :) Posted: 25 Jun 2020 12:15 PM PDT Looking for remote lessons? skype? Microsoft Dynamics vs Salesforce Posted: 25 Jun 2020 09:31 AM PDT Great minds of Sales, My company is deliberating between continuing with Microsoft Dynamics or making switch to Salesforce. As a result, I am doing a comparison of what is better for our needs. Our organization has about 100 sales people that will be using this. What do you recommend and why? Thank you! I got made redundant, the company owed me 100k in comms which they won't pay Posted: 24 Jun 2020 06:32 PM PDT Hi guys, I recently signed one of the largest banks in the country to a tax review and billings we're expected to be $2 Million, with an invoice date in September. I got the bad news last week. I didn't really mind as I was starting to get over the place and the internal politics as it was. I was happy I'd get my package and my commissions owed to me and could look elsewhere after 3 years. Unfortunately, they are refusing to pay the commissions as my contract states they don't pay to staff who are no longer employed. Do I have any recourse here? There are 6 other deals I've signed (though much smaller) that I won't see money for either. There has been a precedence where they have paid to an individual who left of their own volition previously, though not to anyone else I can recall. What do you think? I'm in Australia if it helps. Do LifeLine Agents Make Money? Posted: 24 Jun 2020 11:24 PM PDT I was thinking about going into sales part-time, then eventually progressing into full-time after a few months of getting used to the position. I was looking into being a lifeline representative as a way to get a start into sales. I wanted to know if those lifeline representative (people giving out government phones on the street) make a lot of money from commission doing this job. Also, is this a good way to get into sales on an entry-level? If not, where should I start? If anyone has experience as a lifeline representative please comment down below your experience when it came to customer interactions, average amount of phones you gave out a day (5-8 hour shift), how much commission you received from the job, and any other information that you feel is important to give out. I live in Los Angeles, CA by the way. [link] [comments] |
Looking for a bit of advice on my next move Posted: 25 Jun 2020 08:01 AM PDT Hi all, I'm looking for some advice from people who have been in the tech/software sales space for a bit. I worked in advertising sales for a big company for about a year and was the top performer out of about 1,000 reps for the last 6 months of my job there. I moved to an ad tech company and that's where I've been for the past two years. I've been a consistent top performer and bring in about 200k in ad spend monthly and was promoted recently. I just quit that job about a week ago due to some personal reasons (for interviewing reasons they are legit and not a red flag). I'm currently enrolled in a software engineering program as it's always something that's interested me and I have time left on my gi bill. When this is finished, I want to apply to a role where I'm selling a very technical product for either a start up with a high commission, or a bigger company with a higher base and large number of inbound leads. Last base was ~95,000 and commission was ~60,000 so I'm looking to at least match that. Any suggestions on companies to look into? How to brand myself in the application process? Anyone working in SaaS sales that has some insight into where I should be applying. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Jun 2020 08:42 PM PDT I'm new to sales and have an interview coming up at a relatively small company (40-50 employees) that sells health insurance. Recruiter told me that the base is 40-45k + commission. He also said reps make anywhere from 65-130 per year. Is there anyway to validate this? I need to make about 70K a year to afford my bills, and can't risk making only 50-55K a year. It's also a non cold calling position, as warm leads are provided. Are there any other questions I should be asking? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Jun 2020 07:58 PM PDT So I'll keep this short and to the point. I've recently graduated and after struggling to get employment I decided to try a commission based appointment setting job. They have us doing cold calls full time. We have a $320 weekly spiff and a $40 commission for every appointment that shows up. We also get bonuses depending on our weekly shows. $110 for 3 shows, $230 for 5 shows. It goes farther but I don't know if it's even realistic to hit those bonuses. It's a relatively young solar company, I have no idea if I'm getting used/exploited since the cold calling center is very new. Anyone have any idea what is normal for this sort of work? Am I being baited with promises if near impossible bonuses for little reward or is this realistic and fair? I want to break into sales and get experience, but I don't want to end up in a dead end exploitative job. A lot of commission jobs are very baity, anyone have an opinion on this? Note: sorry if that ended up being long Tl;Dr solar appointment setting, $310 weekly spiff + $40 per show, $110 bonus for 3 weekly shows, $230 for 5. Is this fair or exploitative? 40hrs/week [link] [comments] |
Selling my Shopify Store [$389 in sales first week] Posted: 25 Jun 2020 11:02 AM PDT Hello, I am selling my dropship store Wireleqo.com because of paypal blocking all my money and I now have no way to scale this store. I think this product is quite amazing and can really go well with the right person. The marketing I did was mainly through instagram shoutouts and few facebook ad tests as well. The store is built with a premium theme as well. Asking price is $300. Proof of sales - https://imgur.com/ia8VmfZ [link] [comments] |
Enterprise Selling - Starting to break in, any advice to accelerate? Posted: 24 Jun 2020 03:01 PM PDT I work for a company with a strong customer base in mid-market and I'm starting to break into Enterprise accounts. For many reasons, I would like to get into more enterprise accounts and get more experience in the Enterprise space. I'd really appreciate specific thoughts and advice from people that have broken into Enterprise accounts or are currently selling to Enterprise accounts. Some areas I'm thinking but please add or correct:
Book suggestions are helpful but were there any "ah-ha" moments when closing deals or breaking in that stuck out? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Jun 2020 04:03 PM PDT How do I go about telling my employer I don't feel comfortable using my LinkedIn to prospect sales? [link] [comments] |
