Posted: 05 Apr 2020 08:16 AM PDT 5 years ago I had a silly idea to help people eat better. I wouldn't tell them exactly what to eat like most diets. I wouldn't meet them like most practices. I would create solutions for their actual issues and a lot of that was saying "hey you're doing something wrong and it's not carbs, age, or hormones" lol. It wasn't always easy but in 5 years we've grown to more than 35,000 members in 50 countries and a team of 70 people. We're over 8 figures in revenue (with healthy profits pre covid) and still have so much potential. I'm currently working on a book (eating related) and our app is up and running (although not released to all our members yet). Happy to answer any questions if I can help anyone else! Posted: 05 Apr 2020 11:08 AM PDT Hello all, If you are interested in joining a (hopefully) newly formed island nation then this is the place to be. the subbreddit is reddit.com/r/theredditnation I have prepared a plan that explains how we will go about doing such a task. More detailed elaborations for each component of the plan will be given at request. Obviously the first question is where we would have our island. I have identified places of interest. One place of interest is the Nation of Belize. Belize is a small nation with a low GDP of 2 Billion and they are selling off most of their island. Islands with 50-100 acres can be acquired for around 500,000; give or take 50,000. From the people (Government Officials) I have contacted, they are perfectly okay with this plan. Now here is a 5 step proposal of how this will come to fruition (I will expand on how we will finance this)
Now for the question of how much this island will cost and how we will get the funding According to my calculations (you can look at them below) it will cost us $2,600,000
Now in regards to how we will raise that sum
If you have made it this far, please join the subreddit More information to come soon, thank you. [link] [comments] |
Wil we abandon China and manufacture more in US now? Posted: 04 Apr 2020 04:09 PM PDT Long before the covid outbreak I have been kicking around the idea of doing some kind of manufacturing. I own property and would just need to build. I really believe in doing things with recycled goods and I feel as though we waste so many resources. I see so many cases where people just won't recycle and its off to the landfill forever. I am flexible on other ideas though. Does anyone have any ideas of what is really lacking in the US that should be built here? I think this is going to lead to new oppertunities for us to break away from Asia doing our building for many things. [link] [comments] |
Looking for Bright Ideas of how to Expand Medical Consulting Company Posted: 05 Apr 2020 08:48 AM PDT Hello Entrepreneurs, So I run what I like to call a "Medical Consulting Company." I have Doctors and Nurses overseas that take medical records for lawyers and organize, summarize, bookmark, and place them in chronological order. The doctors that work for me are very skilled at Radiology, Oncology, Hematology, Orthopedics, and Pharmacology. The team I run is very scalable and I feel like I could move into other sectors other than legal. Any bright ideas of how to expand my offerings or other fields I could move into would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! [link] [comments] |
What’re some good ideas for things I can do on the weekends/optional nights? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 09:00 AM PDT I have a full time job, but I just feel like there's a lot I can do to further my income. I'd like something low startup costs, but I'd expect a low return probably for a while. I'm young, and I'm willing to learn more - my job is in IT, so I'd rather stay away from that and give myself a bit of a change up. Any ideas? I've dabbled in power washing but a lot of clients just went to another person if I told them they'd have to wait until Saturday, and it couldn't be done at night. [link] [comments] |
Post covid19 businesses to go for Posted: 05 Apr 2020 03:20 AM PDT I'm aware that it is a little difficult to make predictions at this stage, but I'm just curious to see what your thoughts are on this matter. I'm afraid that, even though the world is not ready to accept it yet, this pandemic will last for a while. A lot of people will loose their job, a lot of businesses will shut down, a hell lot of money will be burned in the markets. Recession is inevitable and tough times will come. Anyway, someday this will end. Months, maybe even a couple years. Who knows. And that's when an economic growth should start again. So what business will, in your opinion, be a good investment? What industry will experience a big, rallying growth? [link] [comments] |
Would anyone who’s owned a gas station mind giving some advice please? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 01:20 AM PDT A family member of mine has found themselves owning a gas station and, while they've had plenty of experience managing one, it's their first time owning one. The problem is that they're not very knowledgeable about keeping track of numbers and I'm worried they won't be able to keep track of how how much they're spending, earning and other costs that'll pop up. I understand that at this point a lot of people would probably think there's no reason someone like them should own a business, but it's an odd situation where they know enough to keep the business running but don't know enough to make it even better and more successful. I love 'em a lot and they've now hit the 6 month mark of owning the gas station and it's doing very well. Our relationship is very close, so it's not unusual to ask about money, so when I asked about how much he's making and so forth he said his accountant knows all that. I guess that's understandable since I've met the accountant and he's very trustworthy but I think it's worrying a business owner doesn't know the exact numbers...I want to help him out. So if anyone who's owned a gas station could advise me some books, videos or other resources I could use to keep track of expenses for this family member I would be very grateful. I have no experience whatsoever in business and this is my first time ever visiting a business sub. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Apr 2020 10:38 AM PDT I've been talking with a lot of brokers and vendors this past week and they all seem to have one thing in common. While the markets gone down drastically, they all seem to think that none of that affects their business valuation. They aren't grasping reality - some said that this whole ordeal will pass soon enough. Businesses that were worth 4x EBITDA are now worth near half or less, but they seem to think it's still worth 4x while they at the same time are laying some people off and are losing top-line. It seems like the best possible solution here is just an earnout.. What are your thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Apr 2020 03:47 AM PDT For billions of people, this truly is time of personal and financial hardship but I look at all those empty aisles and think that someone is making a lot of money right now from all of this. Any of you have stories to share of how your business or start up has thrived the last few weeks? [link] [comments] |
Waiting it out for a better retail space... Posted: 05 Apr 2020 01:58 PM PDT I have a small business in Vancouver. My space is not ideal, and I'd like to find something better. I'm not locked into a lease. I feel like in ~ 4-6 months, there will be a fair amount of retail spaces available due to COVID-19 related closures. I have three options:

Posted: 05 Apr 2020 01:32 PM PDT I got this idea when I was trying to get a mortgage, and home and contents insurance company had hidden clauses behind the claims they said they covered, so when our fence was damaged, they said they didn't cover it. It would be for those that: - can't affect a good lawyer - have new insurance companies - want more genuine options in the insurance space If you like this idea please upvote [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Apr 2020 12:58 PM PDT With everyone staying at home and gyms closed down i was thinking there would be a market for reselling exercise equipment. Id like to sell ebook. should I use my own website or direct to kindle? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 05:58 AM PDT Hello, Id like to sell an eBook. Is it ok to sell everything on my own website, using shopify for example, or is it better to direct to Amazon for people to buy? [link] [comments] |
Starting a company without any money Posted: 05 Apr 2020 11:35 AM PDT Is it possible to start a company just with an idea. How can someone attract investors to fund an idea. Is it possible? And if not what are the basic requirements and knowledge required to start a company. [link] [comments] |
Business to start stimulus check ?? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 11:31 AM PDT What moves are you looking to get assuming you get the full 1200 of the stimulus check I feel like this is a great idea but I'm completely stumped [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Apr 2020 11:17 AM PDT I was wondering whether cell phone processing power is used in the same manner as SETI screensaver 20 years ago (not sure if it's still a thing)? If not, why not? If the user can determine the time the phone is not in use (let's say 00:00-06:00 for example), only when on wifi or for example max 100mb of data, and whatever other restrictions they set, what issues are there? Couldn't find anything with quick googling. [link] [comments] |
Struggling to Find the Best Way to Advertise My Startup Posted: 05 Apr 2020 11:09 AM PDT I started an investment platform that offers returns from rented real estate. We have been running since April of 2016 and we have either met or exceeded our anticipated ROI, so I think the product is solid. I haven't been able to convert users in an economical way and I'm wondering what marketing approaches have worked for others in this group? For reference, the company is called C.K. Mack, if you want to check out our UI. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Apr 2020 11:05 AM PDT Hey everybody, so over the last 3-5 months a lot has changed for me in different ways and all positive. To make a long story short my confidence boost and decisions have led to me being more active on social media but after I had a girl with over 24k followers tell me she thought I would and should have over 100k followers just based on looks I was taken aback. I felt that I could be concentrating on something to increase my followers or that maybe I was going about it wrong since I only have 40 followers btw. I don't necessarily want to be the annoying influencer but maybe garner enough attention to express something or gain an ambassador type role for a sponsorship in the future... Any tips on what I should do? Btw my IG page is: a_long_excurzion If anyone has any inquiries I would love to discuss. Thank You [link] [comments] |
How to split ownership between these two partners? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 11:04 AM PDT Hi there, I know that currently isn't the best time for starting a business, but let's say things went back to being normal, imagine this scenario: Two partners want to start a gaming lounge (cyber café/gaming club), they do all the needed research and planning (feasibility study, market research etc.). Partner A: Has the needed amount of cash. Partner B: Has the needed skills, experience and is the one that did the research. (Edit: also partner B would be on site, as in work in and manage the place) Questions you might ask: - Yes, gaming clubs are still a thing where I live. - Yes, they do make good money if the place is right. - The devices in mind are PS because there isnt a lot of interest in Xbox in the region. - I live in a developing country, taxes and regulations on such a business aren't that much. Shipping canned beverages (cold)? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 10:59 AM PDT Anyone in this forum know the most economical way to ship canned product that must be kept cold in 12 and 24 pack (12oz cans). We have a product that we're transitioning to direct to consumer (virus and all that) and don't have a very economical way to do this. We're using coolers from Costco at the moment. Bonus points if it's economical and environmentally friendly. The Costco coolers are reusable but kind of expensive. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Apr 2020 11:40 PM PDT I have finished the following books and they're absolutely amazing in my opinion of course. They've really helped me grow in mindset and growth, and I read them all via audiobook (so really hearing) and ebooks via overdrive (free library app) and they are
These books aren't the Bible but they've helped me really open my mindset and how I can handle a lot of scenarios and ways to have a future thinking mindset What books have helped you in your growth? [link] [comments] |
How do you identify users to reach out to for success stories? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 10:34 AM PDT Hey all, I want to put a lot of energy into producing customer success stories these year. I run a platform with 5,000 users where I can generate enough data to see which customers are more successful than others. Just wanted to talk to the pros in here, and see whether there is a tool or specific method to get started on this, especially when it comes to identifying users that are 'successes'. I produced 2 or 3 of these pieces in the past, but it was mostly lucky and inbound. [link] [comments] |
