Posted: 05 Apr 2020 05:23 AM PDT Basically title says it. If you lost your sales job during COVID. Do not think everyone is contracting. There are sales jobs that are expanding/hiring during these times. For instance here is a medical device distributor hiring in Midwest/CO area currently. Google search medical device sales independent distributors in X state or LinkedIn search. [link] [comments] |

Leads and sales strategy for the anti-social? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 05:34 AM PDT Hi, Can anyone recommend a solid lead database company? I tried using a Fiverr seller that used LinkedIn Sales but would you believe me if I told you it was a bust? @@ Separately, I have a product (health and wellness based geared for corporate benefits) that I know from professional experience fills a need but I wouldn't exactly compare myself to Jordan Belfort...my social anxiety is crippling. What should I consider when looking to put together a sales strategy? Perfect world, I'd have a 100% commission based sales team that would be enabled to set their own price on the product but I realize it's the luck of the draw. [link] [comments] |
Furloughed, received a lead for a job and seeking advice Posted: 05 Apr 2020 12:45 PM PDT So I was in furniture sales. A lot of people were laid off but I was furloughed which I was grateful for. I'm still getting benefits and am expecting to come back but there's no talk of that til at least May. I haven't applied anywhere, but I got connected to hiring at a mutual company after they heard about me from a client of theirs who is a friend of mine. The job title is "financial advisor" and it sounds like you make commission off stocks, life insurance, and savings accounts. I know nothing about that and the actual duties of the job are unclear. They say it's a "lifestyle" not a job. They don't want me to keep my current job while building clients and suggested uber or bartending instead. You are responsible for finding your own leads and I'm nervous about that since I am used to walk in business. They also want a year commitment. On the other hand paid training is sounding pretty good right now but I don't want to be that guy that takes advantage of paid training then bails. If it's a good career move I'd stick with it but i just love my job now and am conflicted about this. Does anyone have any input or done something like this before? [link] [comments] |
How can I get my foot in the door? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 12:04 PM PDT I'll try to keep this short. I work for a construction company. (Uk) We have a department especially for a couple of clients. (High end building services) One of our directors left, and with him, so did our clients (although me and my team were the only reason the previous projects were successful, and since then he has failed and lost the client) I have since taken a role where I need to drive this part of the business before it fails.... I need sales. We have proved capable of delivering, we have great write ups, and we are quoting works all the time, the problem is even if we are the cheapest quote, we dont get given the chance! How do I convince people/companys to give us a chance to prove we are capable ( projects between 50k to 7M) Thanks for any advice! [link] [comments] |
What jobs can SDR experience help you get? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 11:52 AM PDT Lost my job and given the climate, I'm being a lot less picky for finding income. I have a year of SDR experience between 2 SaaS companies. What are some other jobs I can leverage that experience to get into besides SDR positions? [link] [comments] |
Suit Jacket/Wardrobe recommendations Posted: 05 Apr 2020 07:41 AM PDT Hey all! Hope all is healthy! I'm starting a new sales job in a few weeks (from home for now) and I just wanted to buy a few suit blazers to wear over long/short sleeve t-shirts and sweaters. I was looking at picking up a few from SuitSupply (Actually off the wholesaler suit review) because I have a two suits from SuitSupply and love the fit. However, my issue is the face that the suits are glued, so I'm worried about longevity because I'll be wearing them day in and day out, especially at the price (SuitReview sells the blazers if they have them in stock for 250 USD a piece). What are your thoughts? As well, what are your recommendations? Secondly, this is my first job that I'll be required to dress up more or less everyday in business casual every day (tech life FTW!) what else should I be looking into? This is tech sales for a big firm selling cloud. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Objection handling - does it actually work? Posted: 04 Apr 2020 10:12 PM PDT I'm an SDR booking meetings for AEs. From your experience, what % of objections can actually be overcome? My company wants me to transition to more of a "sniper" approach rather than "machine gun" which I'm currently doing, as my role is shifting to lower-targets with a much smaller account base. Currently, if someone tells me "no", I'll try 1 or 2 objection handles (works about 10% of the time) before moving and keep calling until I talk to someone from a company who is immediately interested. I'm worried about making this transition, not sure if these new numbers are achievable because I've never seen someone consistently overcome objections on real sales calls, not those fake "dan lok" style bullshit videos. Posted: 04 Apr 2020 02:10 PM PDT Hey guys What are some really good sales movies that you would recommend? They can either be directly about sales or embody themes that could be good sales lessons (ex. the Social Network showing you about business ethics and the importance of relationships). I'm compiling a list for my team so that we can have a movie club while working from home. Interested to hear what you all think! [link] [comments] |
Best summer door to door sales companies? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 01:27 AM PDT I'm looking to go to door to door sales this summer because I was laid off from my current position as a program director for a jiu jitsu academy, I was working for about 8 months and boom Covid-19 happened and now I can't work. Does anyone have any good recommendations, for whichever company will hire me with little experience and give me the highest commission per account sold. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Apr 2020 01:43 PM PDT Basically, the title says it. I'm bored to tears with what I'm selling, and took the job because I moved to a new state and need the money. For the time that I'm here with this outfit I plan on busting my ass, but how do I go about explaining my reasons in a cover letter? I can tell people in an interview that I took a job because I needed the money and am still searching for a permanent fit, but how do I state that in my cover letter for those positions? When reaching out to sales managers on LinkedIn, can I just open with "I know my LI says I just started a new gig, but I took it for financial reasons and would really like to work for your company for reasons cuz"? I was also debating putting my job hunt on hold and just trying to grind this out for the next 6 months, but seeing that there's still a ton of SaaS gigs hiring (from startups to Microsoft), it makes me want to keep looking for something a little more permanent. Am I being an asshole here? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Apr 2020 08:54 PM PDT California: Soon I'll be interviewing for an account manager position selling surgical equipment and services to a well-established base. Please share pros/cons and things to consider. Share what you think is a good yearly total $ Given that the pay is base + commission. Thanks so much! [link] [comments] |
How/why did you get into sales? Posted: 04 Apr 2020 06:01 PM PDT I've often found people from very different, non-sales backgrounds have ended up in sales. What's your story? How did you end up in sales? How are you holding up? [link] [comments] |
Boss asked for remedial sales action plan?! Posted: 04 Apr 2020 05:54 PM PDT Hi guys, My boss happened to call me and ask what I have done so far in terms of a remedial action plan for sales due to the pandemic. I blanked out. I didn't know I was supposed to do one, and secondly I don't really know how. Googled for a while but cannot really find any examples I could use. Please, any ideas will be great Info: manager at company that imports and exports mining supplies, we sell P. P. E. Locally (no masks in stock.. Don't even go there lol!) and we manufacture our own hand Sanitizer, degreaser and handcleaner with grit. Everyone working from home except on the odd day one of the warehouse guys will go in to mix a batch of something. Other than than nothing happening and the ghost town feel is super scary with all the job loss going around. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Apr 2020 04:41 PM PDT Hello, I have been reading & learning from this sub-reddit & its been tremendous help since joining this sub. I have a small business for which I manage sales. All emails are imported into a Gmail account. I get a lot of in-bound leads from our website. I am thinking of using a CRM that allows me & one more user to be able to reply to those emails. I have tried Copper CRM but it doesn't allows 2 users to work on a shared gmail account. Same goes for PipeDrive. I have tried Hubspot & Zoho. They are too complex for my needs. I have been looking for a solution that can offer: - Share gmail account from the CRM itself between 2 users to reply to email & create contacts I have never used a CRM before. I am a quick learner and can put in time to get this thing done right the first time. I have been trying PipeDrive & Copper for almost 10 days now due to their good integration with Gmail. However, they dont allow a gmail account to be shared between 2 users. I have a feeling that I am looking at this whole thing from a wrong point of view & therefore came for advise on this sub from the experienced gurus. [link] [comments] |
Can I get some advice on pricing my product from the perspective of sales experts? Posted: 04 Apr 2020 01:46 PM PDT Hello everyone and thank you for reading. I'm a software developer building a multi-project manager. It works well if I say so myself. Lets you quickly switch between projects and have different teams for each project, each with a multi-level thread, a kanban board, chat, and conference. It generates a bird's eyes view of all your work, and mainly focuses on saving people's time. My question is, how do I go into pricing my product; and what things can I do so that those in charge of sales have the tools to efficiently market it and sell it? Thank you again.
