Is it possible to get an SDR job with 10 months of experience and a college degree? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 02:08 AM PST I just graduated college and I have worked in phone sales for 10 months. Do you think I have a shot at getting an SDR job in software or medical? Or something else? I have done very well in phone sales so far. [link] [comments] |
Good SaaS companies to work for in the NASHVILLE, TN area? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 08:04 AM PST Nashville is growing like crazy and the job market is so tough at times. I am a top 25% "closer" (account executive) for a fortune 20 company in their Saas division. Make decent money but looking to relocate closer to family and friends (and get away from some toxic management). Does anyone have any company suggestions in the Nashville/ Brentwood/ Franklin Tennessee areas? [link] [comments] |
Terrible start to the new year - how should I jump ship? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 09:12 AM PST Today I come back to the office to find email spam notices plastered across my Hubspot account. It turns out my boss was supposed to send an automated Christmas marketing email to our only 18 clients (message specifically targeting clients only) but it ended up going out to all 1000 of my B2B contacts in the CRM. This is a database that a largely built up near the end of the year to start prospecting in 2020 but now they've all been spammed an email that suggests they are already clients of ours. I find this extremely embarrassing knowing that not only all my prospects have been bombarded due to my boss' lack of knowledge of Hubspot (she literally selected the list, "All Contacts except Customers"), but even my Closed Lost contacts also received emails insinuating they are our customers. I'm trying to explain my frustration to my boss right now but she doesn't seem to understand the impact this is going to have on our brand and more importantly my pipeline, my name in the industry, and my email deliverability. I'm so shocked right now. I literally feel like quitting if this is the level of incompetence of my management. I don't know what to do now that a pipeline I've worked so hard on has been spammed using my name (she had all the emails delivery through my email account). I'm taking the day off, I can't deal with this. I guess my only question now is, what skills should I focus on over the next few weeks to put me in the best position to jump ship? I've climbed to be a business development manager at this tech startup - leading all north american sales - and now that I'll be calling through my burner pipeline, what are the top transferable sales skills should I be polishing as I get declined? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 11:40 AM PST LinkedIn is quickly becoming a great network to stand out and I'm surprised how many people aren't actively contributing to the platform. For sales, most of if not everyone looks up prospects on LinkedIn. The hardest part for me has been knowing what to post about - I'm 100x better at answering questions than coming up with topics off the top of my head to talk about. What's the hardest part for everyone? [link] [comments] |
Liquor Sales Rep- Help? - Canada Posted: 30 Dec 2019 12:03 PM PST Hi all, A few months ago I entered the Liquor Sales world. My biggest problem that I'm having at the moment, is how to enter a restaurant and push the product? Any advice for a novice? [link] [comments] |
What are the best AdTech/mar tech/digital sales jobs? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 11:37 AM PST The "best" would be defined as having a great salary, clear career path, impressive leadership with a clear strategy and the ability to execute. [link] [comments] |
Critique my initial "ask" email template? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 08:43 AM PST Background - I am a (essentially) a broker that sells business and personal loans. Below is what I send to clients after our initial conversation. You will see that I request some way to verify their income in order to get them a quote. It has worked for me (consistently a top performer) but, I want to change it up to see if I can increase the response rate: Hi <client>, It was great speaking to you today, I appreciate the opportunity to work with you. As we discussed, I will need some sort of income verification - a copy of the 1st page of your two most recent tax returns OR a copy of a recent paystub OR W2. Please also provide me with a recent credit report. If you do not have access to one, I can obtain one with a soft pull (no impact to credit) if you provide me with the following:
I will confirm once I receive everything and from there it typically takes 24-48 hours to get a pre-approval. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any further questions or require any further clarifications. Thanks, <Signature> [link] [comments] |
Are there any b2b roles in the luxury automotive industry? Currently in software sales Posted: 30 Dec 2019 07:36 AM PST Hey folks, Might come as a shock to some people but I'm looking to move from software sales back to the automotive industry. Worked in car sales first then made a move to a tech company as a Bdr. Now an AE. Love everything about it: compensation, culture, work life balance. However, the product just doesn't excite me. I was wondering if there are any sales roles within a luxury car environment like Mercedes Benz, BMW, Porsche that involves account management and selling to businesses. Only role I can think of is fleet sales. Is there any large account management within these roles? I don't want to sell to consumers or be in a retail role. Looking for some role within the luxury automotive industry. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
company wants us to cold call in person rather than phone? Out of touch? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 07:36 AM PST hey all my company wants its reps to cold call in person rather than on the phone, and they seem to think reaching the DM in person is going to be a lot easier that way. they don't want me at my desk, like ever. i have to use my personal vehicle, am paid mileage reimbursement - are they completely out of touch? my understand is that cold calling in person is rude and shows you have no respect of the decision makers time if you expect them to drop everything and meet with you right then and there, and - I can call more places on the phone then I can reach with my car in an hour. what are your thoughts? im considering jumping ship - it doesn't make sense. Tactful cold calling during holidays Posted: 30 Dec 2019 06:37 AM PST A question I had in my head today as we wrap up the year here in my office: how do you guys and girls prefer to leave messaging (voicemail, email) during holiday periods? I'll be in the office the next two days and would like to touch most of my accounts in that time and am curious on what the best approach is. Set up for 2020, well wishes, or business as usual? Where to go from cell phone sales? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 12:07 AM PST I work for a major carrier selling phones. I honestly didn't think there was much money doing this but was surprised. Depending on traffic I make 60-80k a year. I am now at the point where I'm ready for something else. I am not looking for something door to door or car sales. What other options are out there? I was thinking personal banker or something along those lines. The company I work for now offers tuition assistance, should I just finish up my bachelors first and then leave? [link] [comments] |
cell phone sales - "likable" enough? Posted: 29 Dec 2019 06:08 PM PST Right now I work in a restaurant. As a cook/cashier. With New Year's in a few days, it's made me pause and reflect on my goals. I'm considering cell phone sales for 1) Primarily, to improve my skills. I think sales is a great skill that you'll use over a career, no matter what you end up doing in the end. Charisma also helps in general, dealing with people. 2) Pay boost would be nice. That being said: I've never done anything like it, except for maybe customer service at the restaurant. How important in charisma/likability? I'd say I'm about average in this regard. Why do people fail at this job? Is this a dumb idea? [link] [comments] |
Being compared to other sales reps Posted: 30 Dec 2019 03:02 AM PST Hi, I would like to ask experienced salespeople. Do you like when you are publicly compared (in a powerpoint slide or different form) by the management with your sales peers and sales colleagues during weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual meetings or when the management puts a TV monitor on a wall in the office and makes a leaderboard and benchmarks every sales rep on different sales KPI. I'm wondering for quite some time whether this makes sales reps feel good and motivated, or they feel bad, demotivated and frustrated by this tactic applied by the management. Thank you, Resur [link] [comments] |
Launching a new digital agency. Help me develop an equitable sales comp plan. Posted: 29 Dec 2019 10:06 PM PST Little more detail... We're launching an agency selling web design, branding, and product development to mid-sized companies. Most services range from ~ $5k to $50k. We're bringing on our first sales rep in Feb and I'm working on developing the comp plan. I come from a sales (not agency, though) background so I value the role and want to compensate fairly and properly incentivize performance. This will be outbound sales with some inbound leads providing marketing pans out. Do any of you work in sales roles at creative agencies? Any advice or thoughts would be great. [link] [comments] |
Looking to get my first sales job. Need advice. Posted: 29 Dec 2019 12:50 PM PST Im looking to get back into the workforce for a sales job and not exactly sure where to look. Just not sure where to start with or where to go. Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Dec 2019 04:15 PM PST Hi all, Does anyone have suggestions on paid training such as online video training for general sales? As in, teaching a sales process/flow, presentations, ideas on cold calling, following up, etc? Dale Carnegie and Sandler appear to be in the thousands of dollars and I'm hoping there is a simple one for up to $1000? If that doesn't exist, what alternatives would you suggest? I see so many $10-$100 solutions that are garbage and others pitched by scammers. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
