    investing: streaming service

    Posted: 04 Nov 2019 05:49 AM PST

    hello,

it seems every time i turn around there is a new streaming service . and by the time you have a couple. you are back to the price of cable again.

a couple of these services make sense, like sony and disney own a lot of content and netflix , facebook, youtube has a lot of members.

i see the need for some consolidation soon, but who blinks first ?

i think one of the big boys, will have to buy one of the other players, causing another big player to do the same ?

i would like to invest in one, but am i too late to the party?

    Working in Financial Services Advice

    Posted: 04 Nov 2019 10:06 AM PST

Not sure if this is the place to post but shooting my shot.

Currently working in a shit end glorified call center job for a ESRP Record keeper. Been here a year and a half, first job out of college. Every time I ask my manager about moving to a new department, I get the same run around. "How about being a senior in the department you're in now?" I'm tired of having other people make plans for me and at this time, I don't think the company has one for me. I am studying for the SIE but beyond that not sure where to go. Fairly certain I am not interested in any FA capacity/ selling annuities etc but still want to work my way to being a producer-revenue creator for a company, not just a labor role where I'm just another body behind a desk and regulatory compliance is an interest for me. Somewhat at a loss as the world of finance is so large and I've barely dipped my feet in and would like to some general feedback, especially for anyone that has been in my position.
