Posted: 05 Oct 2019 06:05 AM PDT Welcome to this week's Peer Support and Self Management Thread. This is a Safe Place to Vent, Seek Emotional Support, Share Self Management Techniques and Experiences, or Just Rant. The goal for this thread is to help one another manage mental and physical health so we can more easily find success. We all struggle sometimes and it is important to recognize that the struggle is part of the journey. The important thing is to learn how to overcome that adversity to grow and succeed. Be tactful and classy in how you vent your feelings and share your frustrations. Act in a mature manner. Ask questions, share experiences, and be there for one another. Practice empathy in giving advice and remember that what worked for you isn't guaranteed to work for others. Make suggestions, not demands of others. #Because this is meant to be a safe place to support emotional and physical health there is a zero tolerance policy in effect. Be KIND. Be sure to report any conduct that is in violation of that key tenet. You can also find more support using instant chat on the /r/startups discord. [link] [comments] |
How to pitch your start-up when be asked Posted: 05 Oct 2019 03:30 PM PDT Hi, How do you guy practice on present about your company/business/start up idea whenever be asked? I mean I just started working on my start-up idea and I assume that I will have to network all the time and pitching your business to potential partners/sponsor/angels is very important though. Thank you in advance! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Oct 2019 07:11 PM PDT Hello! I'm head of marketing in a fairly big Mexican online clothing brand, this has been my job for 5 years now but I think it is time to create my own path, I have an idea and I already have a pretty big data and research on market and also on the business model, my question may be silly for all of you more experienced folks but I'm just starting in my journey, I would like to know where I could find a good CTO, because I'm really good in my field (digital marketing) but I lack the technical knowledge to actually start to develop a MVP. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Would you like to advice me on this? Posted: 05 Oct 2019 10:23 PM PDT I've been working with my app idea for a long time and after talking to the target audience (students) and developing the business model, marketing strategy, etc I'm at a point to just get started with the app development. I'm feeling a need of a mentor or investors/co-founders who could help me out in this journey. I'm a college student and currently unable to work full time on it, untill the development gets started. I have the network of students to whom I can market the app( in my country as well as some other countries). I would be thankful if you could give me some advice or suggestions for it. Also if you are interested in knowing the app idea, do dm me. Thank you! [link] [comments] |
"Sign Up" vs "Request Access"- Launch Strategy for Consumer Software Posted: 05 Oct 2019 03:16 AM PDT This email client start up(mods don't like mentioning names but I'm sure ya'll know what I'm talking about), probably the hottest start up this year, is still doing this Early Access thing. Their founder, in a podcast, mentioned that it mainly for cohort analysis reasons. I am skeptical that this is the only reason. I think another large reason is because the scarcity effect drives more customers. "People want what they can't get." This seems like a good strategy to implement, are there any downsides that I'm not seeing? Has there been any proper studies on this? [link] [comments] |
What % of your MRR do you spend in PPC / Display / General Marketing? Posted: 05 Oct 2019 09:31 AM PDT I'm aware that this highly varies by industry and vertical. However, I'm looking for a generic overview, just to get an idea as I'm building my financial plan. The general consensus seems to vote for 5% PPC, 5% Display and 5% general marketing. What are your metrics? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Oct 2019 06:06 AM PDT Welcome to this week's Sunday's Success Stories Thread. A lot of us get way too hung up on the destination and the fact that we are not there yet. It is important to take a moment to reflect on a great quote from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., "The steps you take don't need to be big, they just need to take you in the right direction"- Jemma Simmons This is extremely relevant to all of us in this community. We should all be more aware of the successes we achieve every day that carry us closer to our goals. Celebrating these successes, no matter how small they are, allow us to stay motivated, focused, and happy while we struggle to achieve dreams of various sizes. The purpose of this thread is to share our successes from the week with one another and have something to celebrate together. So, let us know what successes you have achieved this week! Nothing is too small or insignificant! #Because this is meant to be a safe place to support emotional and physical health there is a zero tolerance policy in effect. Be KIND. Be sure to report any conduct that is in violation of that key tenet. You can also find more support using instant chat on the /r/startups discord. [link] [comments] |
