(Shitpost) what do you guys have in terms of employee apparel? Uniform, Formal, or Business Casual? Posted: 28 Aug 2019 07:16 PM PDT This is a dumb question but I'm curious as to what people say. If you could also include your business area too, that'd be pretty cool something like: Construction - Uniform this isn't meant to be anything. [link] [comments] |
Few reasons: why clients do not prefer agencies? Posted: 29 Aug 2019 01:24 AM PDT We all know that we should be client-centric in our dealings if we want to establish good relationships and deliver true value in the eyes of the client. Part of that is understanding the common problems or small annoyances clients have with agencies. If you know about these hassles and perceptions ahead of time, it brings new awareness to how you deal with customers and the structures you put in place to keep them happy. I have listed some of the common problems that clients ponder about Digital service agencies. 1. Engaging clients more often a.) The client may be technophobe, the Agency should not say that "Kindly check the proposal" or "suggest us relevant technology". The better approach can be to schedule a call and discuss all aspects of engagement and also assist your client with the best solution regarding Tech stacks, project tenure, payment methods, etc. Do not postpone these type of tasks to client's diary. b.) Sometimes, the client has other works to do and they do not want to make themselves available to project discussions. Agency should not contact/reach more often to the client for every update/issue. the Agency can finalize a day in a week for these types of discussions. 2. Boasting a wide range of service For an IT service agency, It's never a good idea to just say "sure, we can do that" when you really have no idea where you'll start to get it done. Your client wants to hire an expert who can turn out quality work, not wait while you bumble around figuring it out. This over expectation of clients leads to negative results. when you boast of providing all services from designing, development, Marketing, printing, etc. and you do not have proper resources at an instant then it either leads to extension in project tenure or inappropriate delivery of the project. The solution is to be specific with your niche services. 3. Communication Gap The communication Gap is contrary to the first point. But never let the client say, that the agency is not listening to our views/suggestions. Agency should not over-communicate but must inform all progress from time to time. For an offshore/remote service provider, the project manager is necessary as a first contact point for clients. It is required that the communication should be done in a proper way through a project management tool such as Zira, Slack, Asana, Trello, etc. It generates a feeling of trust among clients. 4. Unreasonable pricing The clients may not be aware of the digital service industry, but in order to maintain an honest professional work culture; the agency should not quote a price in an ambiguous manner. The effort estimate should be explicit and each commercials breakout should be explained to clients. Also, let them know what you have upper hand against your competitor company. Because If the proposed price is high/irrelevant for clients, they are likely to approach your rival agency. These are the common problems that clients face or distance themselves to engage with digital service agencies. The clients ultimately need:
That's where we(NexThoughts Software) feel ourselves lucky. As an agency, it's important to be aware of these common problems that customers have with agencies, also that they may be coming to you with preconceptions of these types of problems occurring.

What is the importance of positioning? Posted: 29 Aug 2019 12:59 AM PDT Positioning is not what you do to a product. It is what you do to the mind of the prospects. That is, you position the product in the mind of the prospect. So it is incorrect to call the concept "product positioning". It does involve change but the changes made in the name, the price, and the package are really not changes in the product at all. Positioning is the first body of thought that comes to grips with the problems of getting heard in our over communicated society. If one word can be said to have marked the course of advertising in the past decade, the word is "positioning." It has become the buzzword of advertising and marketing people. It has changed the way the advertising game is being played today. "We're the third largest-selling coffee in America," say the Sanko radio commercials. The third largest? Whatever happened to those good old advertising words like "first" and "best" and "finest"? Well, the good old advertising days are gone forever and so are the words. Today you find comparatives, not superlatives. "Avis is only No. 2 in rent-a-cars, so why go with us? We try harder." "Honeywell, the other computer company." Along Madison Avenue, these are called positioning slogans. And the advertising people who write them spend their time and research money looking for positions, or holes, in the marketplace. But positioning has stirred up interest well beyond Madison Avenue. With a good reason. Anyone can use positioning strategy to get ahead in the game of life. And look at it this way: If you don't understand and use the principles, your competitors undoubtedly will. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 28 Aug 2019 08:21 PM PDT Facebook's audacious bid to create a global digital currency that promotes financial inclusion for the unbanked, actually has more privacy and decentralization built in than many expected. Instead of trying to dominate Libra's future or squeeze tons of cash out of it immediately, Facebook is playing the long-game by pulling payments into its online domain. Libra is a crypto token that aims to provide unbanked people, such as migrant workers and others in developing countries without access to traditional banks, a means of interacting with online economies and achieving a purchasing power that has previously been outside their grasp. This is an interesting concept considering the fact that while large populations of people in developing nations don't have bank accounts, practically everyone has a smartphone. Libra is first and foremost a cryptocurrency created to let people access and participate in the Libra Network. Users shall be able to exchange fiat currency into these digital currencies and use them in online transactions. The Libra Association is designed to facilitate the operation of the Libra Blockchain and the coordination and agreement among its key stakeholders the validator nodes. The Libra Association exists to make their collective mission a reality: to create a simple global currency and financial infrastructure that empowers billions of people, stimulating the global economy. Each validator node is represented on the Libra Association Council, which governs the Libra Association. As discussed on this article, Facebook will not be alone in this intriguing new endeavor. Libra will be controlled by the independent, Switzerland-based Libra Association. This group is made up of some of the biggest names in both the financial world as well as powerhouses in the tech industry. In order to gain membership, a one-time donation of $10 million USD is required from each participant. These funds are put towards the reserve backing the currency, continuing to develop the technology as well as setting up the nodes on the network to facilitate the launch of Libra. It has assembled quite the team of backers: Uber, PayPal, Vodafone, and eBay have all joined the team and contributed their shares, while on the financial side Visa and Mastercard have also joined, bringing two giants of cashless transactions into the mix. Along with these powerhouses, the venture capital firm Andreesen Horowitz has thrown their hat in the ring and joined the Libra Association. This large diverse group that now make up the Libra association will play a huge role in the development of its project that makes the Libra coin something to watch for this year in the cryptocurrency world. Is this standard hiring practice these days? Posted: 28 Aug 2019 10:36 PM PDT I applied for a lower hourly position in a fortune 500 company. a month after my video interview, I received an email saying "we would like to invite you for a F2F interview, please click here to schedule a time". I am a bit perplexed as to why a company would have this hiring practice. I received the invite at 3pm, and clicked it at 5pm. Apparently in that 2 hour window, I missed the chance to interview. I checked with others and people generally had a similar issue with this company. [link] [comments] |

Starting a lottery business (UK) Posted: 28 Aug 2019 01:39 PM PDT After reading that around 70% of all UK adults regularly play some sort of lottery I thought about creating and marketing my own lottery. Being a very lucrative and low risk business I have done a lot of research into the laws regarding starting a lottery as I am very interested in doing so. There are various laws and licences required to launch this plus there are many giant lottery companies already out there so making mine stand out to people would be a challenge. All in all I would just like to hear people's opinions on starting a lottery business and perhaps if anyone has tried creating their own lottery? Also, how I could make my lottery stand out and succeed? Eg - perhaps promoting to a local audience and making it a local lottery at first would help more than targetting random people from all around the world. All in all I would just like some advice and opinions on the matter [link] [comments] |

Advice needed: Partners not pulling their weight Posted: 28 Aug 2019 01:10 PM PDT Months ago four friends decided to open a business because, in theory, it seemed logical. One has an IT background, the other is a Banker, the third specializes in marketing, and myself- experience in the public sector. With these specializations we all thought everything will come together. Additionally, each member has their own respective business. What could go wrong? As time went on our marketing person decided to leave bc he wanted to focus on his company and possibly due to other factors. The three of us continue moving forward working on paperwork, product decisions and pricing. Our product are to be sold online. The issues came about when deadlines weren't being met. Tasks were not be completed and were met with excuses like: I didn't have time, I forgot, I need more input, and using their family or kids as excuses. I don't consider myself as a quiter and been the one to tackle my objectives directly and even to do their work if I feel they're taking too long which is nearly everything. That's not to say they haven't done anything however they haven't done enough. I've sat down with both of them and explained they cannot work as if they are employees and I'm not there boss but they need to take initiative and be proactive. But with each conversation, they give their commitment and the following week goes back to the same thing. Nearly every aspect of where we are today is largely due to my pursistance and belief in the product but I can only do so much and want them to put in their share of effort. Though I've sunk in money, Today I've been contemplating leaving. I believe business gets better the longer you last and get things in order but these red flags are unbearable. Should I cut my losses or is there an alternative? If you can relate tell me your story. [link] [comments] |

What Website Platform, For Monthly Subscription Based Online Business, Would You Use? Posted: 28 Aug 2019 08:40 PM PDT I operate a monthly subscription based business offering a service to clients with a one time "setup" fee and then a recurring monthly fee. - I primarily run payments through Stripe, so integrating there is a must-have. This is pretty common, but what I've been looking for a website that allows me to charge a setup fee then start the monthly recurring fee 30 days later. I know I can do this with some lines of code and Stripe, but want to make sure the platform for my website can handle this. - While I'm starting out, I'm going to primarily be cold calling handpicked or warm leads that opt in through free traffic like social media posts. It's not going to be a lot of Ad Spend early on (or ever maybe) I was looking at Squarespace as a top option due to low price, even for the higher end plans. I used Clickfunnels in the past, but this business won't need software like Clickfunnels. It's a very niche business, and I won't be funneling a massive load of traffic through a series of pages. Most of the sales will be done voice to voice using phone. I'm well trained in online stuff, setting up business, using Zapier, Upwork etc. I'm mostly probing for input on website platforms that are best for managing monthly subscription style business models. My setup fee is around $500 and the monthly recurring is around $100. The business is a voice app (skill) in the fitness industry with studio owners being the primary ideal client to start. Any input would be AWESOME! I love learning about new platforms or features of certain platforms that do things I didn't know about. Thanks for sharing and helping. [link] [comments] |
Are there any alternative easier/free ways for electronic signatures for documents? Posted: 28 Aug 2019 08:26 PM PDT Reaching for any and all possible solutions for my personal research. AIGA website mentions the following below, and I agree. Yet I want my clients to feel a holistic sense of agreement. Are there any alternatives to services such as docusign. In particular a way to set this up for free since I may only have 1 or 2 clients every three months. The monthly fees seem moot in my case. Adobe acrobat? Google docs? open sources? Anything to help me in my research will be groomed with a fine tooth comb. Thank you in advance! AIGA quote: " A signature is just a present intent to authenticate. In other words, a signature is simply someone indicating their intent to approve something—it could even be a written "X" in lieu of a signature. Digital signatures hold the same legal weight as physical ones on paper. You can even email your client a contract document and write in the email, "If you agree to the attached contract, reply in an email confirming your approval," and their emailed positive response will count as a legal approval equal in weight to a signature in the court of law. Same thing for PDF form documents that they write their name into, save, and email back to you." [link] [comments] |
How can I raise capital to save my business? Posted: 28 Aug 2019 08:20 PM PDT With my current job income I can no longer put away enough towards the business. Craigs list is full of scammers. GoFundMe didnt work. With my credit and lack of income I cant get a loan from the bank. What are some work ideas I can do online? I avoid content mills like Upwork. [link] [comments] |
