Rookie that just had his best prospecting hour. Posted: 14 Jun 2019 11:46 AM PDT I've been hitting the phones today and had my best hour, I've set 3 appointments for myself. Started May 1st, and I finally feel like today I'm becoming less shit at this whole prospecting thing. Stay pumped everybody, and keep at it. [link] [comments] |
First day of cold calling ever at my sales job Posted: 13 Jun 2019 05:32 PM PDT And man oh man did that feel like what happened with the Dothraki when they went after the White Walkers. So much rejection and maybe one to add to the pipeline which gave me a call back time. Now I'm gonna nap. Can't wait to make a sale, just gonna keep on the grind of it all. Just wanted to share. Youngest enterprise SaaS AE you've met? Posted: 14 Jun 2019 10:53 AM PDT Curious to hear about the youngest AEs yall have seen in the SaaS space doing field sales? I personally have pretty ambitious goals about timing to get into field sales but want to give myself a gut check first [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jun 2019 08:26 AM PDT Hey all. I'm a high school graduate that has been looking for a sales job for around 3 months now, but nothing seems to be coming up for me. Any job seems relatively easy to intern for if you have a college degree, however its a completely different story for someone like me with a high school diploma. every single employer on Linkedin, Indeed, Monster, and Glassdoor seem to be require a bachelors degree. How can I go about this problem? is there any company out there that is willing to give a chance to someone that has only graduated high school? I'm willing to work my tail off for anything, not looking for anything that pays a ton either, just looking for a kick start in my carrier.. any suggestions? Im willing to travel anywhere too. Posted: 14 Jun 2019 08:23 AM PDT I've been in sales for almost three years now, and I like what I currently do, but I'd like some advice on what kind of sales I should try to get into. Currently I work in the car business, and like I said earlier, I like what I do, but just want to be somewhere a bit more stable, I'm 23 and the wife and I have a baby on the way. Also I don't have a degree and idk what kind a fields require and don't require degrees [link] [comments] |

What CRM can do this? pls recommend me one Posted: 14 Jun 2019 11:54 AM PDT I wanted to know if it was possible to use a CRM to help with this process. See I am building a list of prospects for cold email and I want to make sure I don't use contacts I have already on my linkedin. I have about 11,000 contacts I have already pitched on linkedin. Is there a tool or CRM that can make sure I don't build a list of prospects I already have on linkedin? [link] [comments] |

Is there anyone here who has been or is currently in Home Improvement sales? Posted: 14 Jun 2019 11:39 AM PDT I'm looking to pick someone's brain. I currently sell entry products and roofing for a large home improvement company. [link] [comments] |
Advice needed for next career move Posted: 14 Jun 2019 05:39 AM PDT Hi, I've been a developer for over 4 years. Because I found my social skills deteriorating I decided I wanted to switch careers towards Sales. This was in the summer of last year (2018). I found a job as a resourcer at a recruitment agency on the other side of my country. I moved here and have been working here for 9 months. Mostly cold-calling, about 50-70 dials a day. I don't like recruitment. At all. It wasn't my first choice to begin with but it was the only company willing to give me a chance. Mainly I dislike the abstract nature of my current work. I'm basically calling to see if people are open to a new job, qualifying them, and then send them through to one of our recruiters. From there on I just basically hope my recruiters find a match somewhere. There is nothing I offer. I don't pitch anything, its all very general and open ended. I'd like to work B2B with a product to sell. Last week I gave my 4 weeks notice and I am moving back to my hometown when I'm done. My hometown isn't that big of a hub but there are lots of companies so I'm sure there have to be sales roles available. I just don't see that many on the local job boards. I'm also unsure about the market I want to work in. Honestly I'd like to avoid the computer as much as possible which is why I'm thinking about leaving IT. My ideal job would be a B2B role or career prospect (preferably outdoors if possible) selling a product or service with as less computer work as possible. Industries I'm interested in: - Men's fashion I know I'm rambling, but I am unclear about what the best move forward is for me at this point. Does anyone have any suggestions/comments? Posted: 14 Jun 2019 11:06 AM PDT I manage an SDR/BDR team, got approval to spend a ~$100 every other week or so on spiffs. I don't think spiffs provide the fundamental basis for motivation (IMO it's about making the job meaningful, interesting, help people exceed their quota, etc.) but....since I got the money I'll spend it. What are some of the best spiff ideas you've encountered in your careers? Goal here is to make it fun, interesting, competitive [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jun 2019 10:57 AM PDT Fighting to hit my number this quarter and the area I'm struggling most with is creating urgency. I never really fully grasped the concept. Is this really important in Sales or am I better off pushing off my deals? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jun 2019 10:53 AM PDT Hi I'm looking to go into B2B SaaS from B2C (Retail Sales), I'm an assistant manager in a very credible telecoms company in the UK, I'm part of the management team in the Top 3 Flagship store of the company. My sales skills are without boasting pretty incredible. I have been told numerous times my caliber is way beyond this so I've done some research and I hear the words SDR quite often and wanted to know if this would be the best option for me? I am in a technology environment atm and very comfortable with working with tech but I won't hesitate to broaden my horizon, I currently have a few job offers on the table (telecoms, luxury real estate and a BMW franchise) but I want to enter an environment where job security is also not an issue. Could I have some advice from some sales dominant players? I am currently 23 years old. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jun 2019 09:52 AM PDT After 24 years in the automotive retail industry, I've been offered a sales position with an IT company. They do everything from managed services, (including all IT and printing needs), cloud services, VoIP, etc. The company is one of the leading providers in this market. I do not know much about the industry and they are willing to put me through a 30 in house training and send me to CharTec Sales Lab in California within the first 90 days. It's a $35,280 base salary plus commission. I would get 100% of the first months MSP fee as my commission on new business plus a percentage of hardware and labor profit provided I hit my quota. I am comfortable now making around $70000 annually. I would be happy too just match that as the benefit to making the jump is a better work/life balance. I have never had such a tough choice in my career ever. Any input would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jun 2019 08:19 PM PDT I started as a entry guy Got paid 32.5k as my salary with no commissions Then got bumped to 43k plus commissions for meetings after proving I wanted to be there Then got my chance as a rep 1.5 years later got bumped another 17k in salary and now I finally closed my first enterprise size deal The deal will pay me 20k commish - and I'm halfway through the year , learning and getting better All I know is that the opportunity is out there I was selling cars Then finance loans And now Cybersecurity- point is sales is the shitttt [link] [comments] |
Can you be good in sales if you're socially awkward? Posted: 14 Jun 2019 09:13 AM PDT I know you can get over being nervous but I'm just looking for inspirational stories from successful salespeople. The sellers who were (and maybe still are) socially awkward, how did you overcome this? [link] [comments] |
Anyone In Electrical Distribution Sales? Posted: 14 Jun 2019 09:01 AM PDT I'm doing some research into this industry. With so many options in terms of products, what makes you push Brand A vs Brand B? Or, is this more based on what the retailers ask for? If so, does it come down to brand recognition from the B2C side? What's the deciding factor (in your opinion)? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jun 2019 08:58 AM PDT I've been reading Sales EQ and nearly done with it. Majority of everything in the book has gotten me excited to continue my current role as a SaaS SDR. However, while I'm trying to implement what I've been reading, I'm coming to the hard truth that this role is purely on grind. Before this career I was in engineering where strategies and researching before doing something was the only fun part of the job. I've been hoping to do that in a sales role but understand that comes later in my career. I wanted to get this off my chest as the week comes to an end. Not looking for anything in particular but more trying to come to terms with not feeling I'm being used to my full potential in something that is purely based on quantity rather than quality. Most lucrative career path in Sales? Posted: 13 Jun 2019 12:25 PM PDT I am in the early stages of my career in sales and I want to optimize all my career steps to make as much money as I can and set up my family for life. Now I understand there its not all about money and I should look at more of a balance, but I am curious what the optimal steps would be and what industry I should seek out? I have currently been interviewing for SaaS positions but am i missing something? any insight is appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Opinions on outside sales for restaurants and hotels Posted: 14 Jun 2019 07:28 AM PDT I am interviewing for a few places and was curious if any of you guys has any input on sales in this general category. What are some challenges that could arise from this type of role? So far it seems very reasonable from the interview I had with a solid base salary, commission and some compensation for gas and my phone. I am afraid that I may possibly be in over my head. Posted: 14 Jun 2019 07:27 AM PDT Hi everyone! I've been an SDR at a well known SaaS company for a little over 1 year. However, there's still at least another year of this before I can become an AE at the current company. I figured that the best way to learn how to sell and close is just by throwing myself in the deep end (with some preparation of course). I have a very good shot at getting an AE role at a smaller company with great products. What are the top 3 things that I should keep in mind about this transition? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
