High growth Food/Beverage stocks? Posted: 14 Apr 2019 12:00 PM PDT I'm looking to add a food/beverage stock to my portfolio that has high top line growth (+20%) and preferably goes with the trend of less sugar/more healthy. I'm not looking for a QSR or restaurant. Anyone know of one? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Apr 2019 09:24 AM PDT Stupid question and kinda of late, but if you have less than $10000 in stocks and you sold at a loss of about $1000 would you still have to file taxes if you have no other form of income just the stocks and your at a loss from start of year. [link] [comments] |
BB&T Corporation: Too cheap to be true? Posted: 14 Apr 2019 02:18 PM PDT It is a financial holding company that operates across various segments: Community Banking, Residential Mortgage, Specialized Lending etc.
Based on a quick Excess Returns Model, I priced the stock current at more than 40% of its intrinsic value. Am I missing something with this one? Fishing for different perspectives before spending too much time on this one. Thanks [link] [comments] |
TD Ameritrade - options approval Posted: 14 Apr 2019 12:52 PM PDT I am trying to get approved to trade options through ameritrade. Been paper trading for 8 years. Opened real money account in December, portfolio has increased 42% since. The issue I'm having is I am currently a full time student and do not have a solid salary. I do not think I could get approved alone. My question is, could I get approved if I added a co-owner to my account assuming he would get approved. I know that custodial accounts don't have option privileges, but i don't this would be considered that. How can I get approved? [link] [comments] |
Why has Ford’s stock been going consistently down over the past few years? Posted: 14 Apr 2019 12:41 PM PDT I feel as if Ford is investing in all the right areas. They are expanding their electric car series, they put a ton of money into self driving cars, and they are expanding into other transportation technologies (I see the ford bikes everywhere. It's probably worth noting I live in SF). I want to invest but I don't like that's the stock has plummeted over the past 5 years. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Apr 2019 10:40 PM PDT China is pioneering new electric vehicle technologies with NIO. They made hundreds of millions of dollars in sales last year and are expanding. However, their stock price has hit an all time low in the past couple of weeks an is trading at $5. Is NIO due for a bounce? I can't help but think it will reach $10 again, based on the enormous EV market in China that NIO can take advantage of. [link] [comments] |

CAD TFSA question maybe someone can help please Posted: 14 Apr 2019 06:39 AM PDT I own two shares of Boeing BA that I purchased for approximately $388 USD a while ago. Now market value is ~379 USD. My TFSA is saying the market value of the total is ~759 which is just ~379*2 (1:1 return USD to CAD, when 759 is ~1010 CAD). Therefore it's telling me I have an unrealized loss off 279ish when in reality I'm only down 9ish USD per unit. How does this make sense. Can someone please help? To me it makes no sense that I'm down $280ish when shares are down $9. [link] [comments] |
Looking for thoughts on the financial sector Posted: 13 Apr 2019 07:50 PM PDT Looking to buy a few shares in the financial sector but not sure which to choose. Looking at BAC and MS before/after earnings. Which banks seem like the best long term play? [link] [comments] |
How do you add an indicator for another indicator in ToS? (Not related to stocks... Sorry!) Posted: 14 Apr 2019 05:30 AM PDT Hi I am using ToS and im trying to add Bollinger Bands to my MACD indicator. I tried shifting my BB towards the row for the MACD indicator but the BB only calculates price of the underlying stock. It is not a BB for the MACD but rather a BB for the stock's price. Edit: Here is an image for the BB I had in the MACD row: https://imgur.com/VEABWDY [link] [comments] |
How to get company's financials into Excel? Posted: 13 Apr 2019 07:04 PM PDT So I'm using Microsoft's stock plugin to pull some data about the stock(price, PE, beta etc). I would also like to pull some additional data like details from its income statement and cash flow. I currently do this manually using yahoo finance. But I can't find any API's that will allow me to do this. Yahoo finance API is no longer active so I can't use that. Does anyone know where I can pull this data from so I don't have to enter it manually? [link] [comments] |
Stocks typically bounce when heading in a direction, right? Posted: 13 Apr 2019 11:12 PM PDT Like if something is dropping it will often bounce up a bit after a decent fall as people "buy the dip", and likewise when a stock starts to moon it will likely drop a bit at some point on the way up as people close for profits? Obviously timing is the tough thing in this situation and it's a risky play... [link] [comments] |
Overlap in ARKK, PSJ, SOXX, XSW, XLY, and VGT ETFs Help? Posted: 13 Apr 2019 08:55 PM PDT I am looking to invest in the technology sector. It has come to these 5 ETFs: ARKK, PSJ, SOXX, XSW, XLY, and VGT. Is there a way for me to easily check for the overlap of these 5 ETFs besides looking at each ETF holding independently? I was also thinking I could just go with QQQ and forego some of the above ETFs. Any insight into the overlap would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Apr 2019 03:46 PM PDT To buy or not to buy is the question. Is there any cons to holding McDonald's long term? Possibly want to snag a few shares to add to my portfolio. [link] [comments] |
