After 2 years of hard work and around $75k in R&D, I just sent off my first invoice!

    Posted: 03 Feb 2019 12:42 PM PST

Phew, what a wild ride. I've been in the "pub entertainment" business for around 15 years, managing my own operation for around 8. A little over 2 years ago, I started tinkering with the idea of a device that could run fully-automated "pub Bingo" shows, just like a human host would run them. I still have the little pencil sketch I did of how the system would work.

Around February 2017, I started taking every online class I could find on programming, networking, computer science, and IoT (edX, Coursera, Udacity, Kahn Academy, and Lynda.com are all awesome, free sources of online education). Using that information, I put together a pretty damn thorough outline of how my device would work. I was originally going to code the whole thing myself, but my lack of security expertise made me nervous, so I eventually decided to hire a freelancer (best decision I ever made).

Near the end of 2017, my mom's mental state started deteriorating. She had been suffering from mild dementia for a while, but was now unable to function without supervision. My dad was taking care of her, but we knew he couldn't do so forever. I'm in Iowa and they were in Nashville, so there wasn't a lot I could do to help. In an act of desperation, I pulled the trigger on starting development of my product. It was not a smart or logical decision; I just knew we would need help with her impending medical bills, and I thought (hoped...) that if my business idea took off, I could take care of her and my dad without bankrupting our family. Unfortunately, she passed away on May 5th, 2018. By this point, I was deep into development, and decided to soldier on.

I ended up hiring a freelance developer off Upwork.com for $100 an hour. He had a PhD in computer science and taught at a university. He was able to take my initial outline and run with it. In very little time, we had a working prototype up and running. We had to pivot a few times due to a few unforeseen hurdles and roadblocks, but the final product ended up remarkably similar to that initial pencil sketch I did so long ago. In hindsight, I realize I never would have been able to succeed without the expertise of this amazing freelance developer.

Once school was back in session in 2018, my developer's availability dropped due to their teaching schedule. I brought on a second developer to build the entire back-end of my system. I was incredibly fortunate, as he, too, turned out to be a total rock star (at $100 per hour). He and my other developer worked closely together to connect my device to my backend system.

I've now got my devices installed in 6 venues, with one of those venues running it 3 nights per week. I'm doing a very slow rollout while I test what works and what doesn't. The device is pretty damn cool, if you don't mind me bragging a bit. It's literally a robotic Bingo host, able to run live Bingo better than a human host. It makes announcements, plays music, and calls numbers. It knows everyone's card, so it has ways to kind of play with the audience, dragging out calls to add suspense when it knows someone is close. The entire device is about the size of a shoe box, and the entire system is fully-automated. The venue just plugs it into their sound system and then never has to touch it again. Say they want a Wednesday 6-8pm show, the device turns itself on every Wednesday at 5:30 to start playing music and making announcements. At 6:00, the show starts. Users connect to the device from their WiFi-capable devices, such as phones, tablets, and laptops.

So after devoting all of this time and money to the development of my product, I just wanted to take a sec to share my excitement for finally being able to send out my first invoice for this new service. The invoice for $33.24 won't make a dent in the almost $75k it's taken me to get this thing off the ground, but it's a major milestone that proves there's at least one venue that sees merit in my idea. Thanks for reading!

Market your small business yourself without hiring an agency

    Posted: 04 Feb 2019 12:42 AM PST

Hey guys, I am a digital marketer who helped small business grow their reputation and customers from Facebook, Instagram and Google. I am going to share some tips and strategies which I personally use for my clients.

Many of new small business owners wouldn't have much experience or budget to market their business. I think this guide would help those people build their business with least money as possible.

You have to understand that you cannot apply all the strategies for some business types. For eg: you cannot really expect to get customers for plumbing business from Instagram or Facebook. You might but it wouldn't the most effective way.

    So lets get started,

    1. Dominating on Google snack pack

When you search for a business in your area, you could see the 3 business listed on google business. Your goal is to get in to this top 3 position. Most of the people are going to immediately call on one of this business.

So first of all you need to submit your business to google. Make sure you choose the right category and fill out all the details as possible. The more your listing is completed the more google would consider you in the listing. Also make social media pages if you haven't and also add them to your listing. Get some good pictures and if possible add a 3d tour of your business(not very important stuff). You just have to show google you are a serious business.

You need to also get some reviews to get your listing rank better. Just get your fiends to give you a good positive review. Don't get like 10-20 reviews in one day because google will get suspicious. Velocity does matter so get 1-3 per week. Also respond to those reviews by saying "Thank you! do visit again" or something like that. Also ask your customers to leave a review if you think you have done a good job. You really don't need negative reviews because that can also affect your reputation and ranking. Always encourage your customers to leave a review. Offer people discounts for leaving reviews. Its definitely worth it,

Local citations are important factor for ranking. So submit your business to as many directories as possible. You could hire somebody on fiverr to do it too. It would only cost like $20. You could also spy your competitors to know where they get citations from. Just search in google like "your-business city-name" and pick the first organic result of your competitor. Using ahref find all the back links your competitors and go to those directories and submit your business. Make sure you use the same details you used for the Google lisitng.

    2. Parasite SEO

You must be all familiar with quora, medium etc. They are high authority websites that google love. So if you get the right keywords to rank on these sites you might be able to rank them on google. I will give share some popular parasite that you can use to rank your website.

First of all you need to find the right keywords that people search on google. Uber suggest is a great and free tool you can use to find the relevant keywords. So go to uber suggest and search something like this "business-name in your-city" and you will find all the related keywords and their monthly searches. Once you get the ideas about the keyword go to the next step.

    Quora

Quora is Q/A site where you can ask questions and get answer. What you will be doing is creating your own question and answer. For that you need to have an account on quora. if you don't have it create one. If the account is new make sure you answer some question of some random people without posting any link. Wait at least a month before you promote your site. You must have all your original info on quora.

Ask your friend to post a question like "Where can I get/find keyword in city?". Replace keyword by the keyword you found on uber suggest. Eg: "Where can I get good massage in New York?"

Now you have to answer this question with atleast 500 words with relevant pictures and your website link.

    Medium

Medium is a great way to get customers for your website. It won't work for every business but only work for some. Its a way harder but definitely worth it. What your going to do is your going to act as a customer and review your business as one of the best business for your service out there.

First of all you need to pick a keyword which is really easy to rank. Go back to uber suggest and find keywords with 500-1000 searches per month. Larger volume probably would have higher competition. You will see a box with the keywords and the website ranking for that keyword. If you see some website with PA and DA less than 20 in the result means that it is a low competition keyword. You could check your keyword competition on kwfinder. If the keyword score is less than 20 then that means its an easy to rank keyword. Create an article around that keyword in medium. Make sure you include the keyword in the title like Keyword+ "an unforgettable experience" or something like that., Use your own imagination for this. Include the keyword in the first 100 words of your articles and your article should be at least 1000 words. Include as much details as possible and the benefits as possible.

You should mention in the article that "I got this service from here and it was great blah blah blah" and link out your website. Make sure you sound natural and convincing. Include the keyword in the article as much as you can. Don't overdo it. It should be natural and users will indeed read it. if you try to fake it it wont look good. Your keyword density must be 3-5%. Use some tools to check that. Google it and you will find those tools.

    Ranking the parasite

Once you have done creating the parasite you have to rank it. Some parasite rank without any back links. Although some link building is necessary. Now go to fiverr and buy some link building service. Buy a GSA blast, it cost around $10 and some social signals. Also buy some PBN posts if the link doesn't rank.

Never use this for your own website. If everything is done right the links would rank within 3 months.

There are advanced techniques which can help you rank your own site on google like press release, links from educational institutions, local bloggers etc. These are bit hard to execute and the investments are high.

    Yelp

Try to get reviews on yelp , you could get a nice amount of customers.

    Groupon

Use groupon If you don't mind giving new customers a discount. Although groupon charges a lot, if your business is something that get recurring customers. Make sure you do a good service to these people and they will eventually come back. Its great for attracting new customers. If you don't see any competing business on groupon, just use link building that I mentioned earlier to rank the page on Google. You could get ton of visitors in doing so and you can charge a little bit higher.

    Facebook ads + Manychat/Chatfuel

Facebook ads works best for generating new leads and customer for your business. You have to remember that people on Facebook are not really looking for any service or products. So inorder to make them your customer you need to give a good value proposition. Give a discount or some free service or consultation to attract people.

Now we need to create an ad campaign that tells the people about your offer. I personally recommend engagement ads. With engagement ads you can get comments and likes in your posts. Now you need to know how to convert those comments into leads. For that we need many chat or chat fuel. For making simple bot I recommend chatfuel because its really easier to understand and work with. What you will do is your going to create a post in your FB page about your offer and reply to the comments using chat fuel.

You can get guides on Youtube for doing this. You simple have to copy the link of the post and add it to the growth tool in the chatfuel. I won't be explaining a lot on this because there are already a lot of guides if you search for it.

For making a post I recommend canva or make your own video explaining the offer. You could do a content + offer in the end or convey the offer directly in the video. Video works the best. The quality of video should be high and it shouldn't be shaky. Make sure there is enough light in the room. Use a video editor to add text and music in your video. Don't add too much text in the video or image.

There is a lot of ways you can do it. If you own a gym or something, create a video explaining some workouts and telling your offer at the end or middle of the video. You could also do retargeting for your videos. So if people watch 70-100% the video then that means they are really interested in your service. You could retarget those people with an offer video and you would get ton of leads. Look for guides on Facebook Video Retargeting to know how to set this up.

You you should create an engagement campaign and choose an local audience. For targeting I recommend you use audience insight tool. Choose the people in your area and find other pages which are related to your service. For eg:- you could narrow your audience using books, personalities, magazines and even your competitors. If you own a gym then target people who are from the age 18-30 and like Arnold, other gym, workout motivation pages, fitness magazines, fitness apps and nearby gyms.

Your description and title should be catchy and it should capture the attention of the people quickly.

Make sure you does not include instagram in ad placement.

YOU SHOULD MENTION IN THE IMAGE OR VIDEO TO COMMENT ON THE POST TO GET THE OFFER

So if people like the offer they will comment on your post and chatfuel will send the message with the offer. You could also collect their email and phone numbers before they get the offer. Its possible on manychat but haven't tried it yet on chatfuel.

    Instagram

Instagram is great if you have good photos and videos to share. The organic reach is much higher compared to Facebook and gaining followers is much easier. Find bloggers and other business Instagram pages in your area. Follow people who like their posts and some of them will follow you back. Follow like 50-100 a day and un follow people who doesn't follow you back at the end of the week. Post images and videos regularly. Include the area name in the hash tag. Watermark your pictures with your company name. Don't give up and you could make your business stand out from your competitors.

I know I haven't gone much into details of each and everything. My idea was to give you an idea on how to do this. There are guides for each and everything I told you. If you search it online you could find them. If yo have any doubts feel free to contact me or comment down below.

    Partnership

    Posted: 04 Feb 2019 03:54 AM PST

So I'm writing a paper for my business lesson and I'm pretty lost. I study animal sciences course yet we were given this business lesson as mandatory so I have to roll with it. Problem is our teacher is not very good and I am just so confused by everything because she didn't taught us NOTHING.

The paper is basically about starting your pet walking business - business plan. I choose to be dog walker by myself with some people working under me but still taking their own money and giving me their cut and I was under impression that is how Limited Partnership could work. But the teacher told me that is illegal and I have no damn idea where to get the information. (that she was probably supposed to give us, but she didnt) Can I be the General Partner, be the one business is registered on, doing the books etc., with few Limited Partner who would work under my company name, I would tell them what insurance etc. they need, I would help them get clients, they would get their money from them but give me a cut? Does that work?? Please can somebody help me I am so confused and really need this sorted.

(I hope this is the right redit to post in, I have no damn idea where else)

(also, I am in the UK so it would have to be considering the UK law)

Do "website" companies generally need both an LLC and a DBA?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2019 03:29 AM PST

Assuming that an LLC is needed, do you have to register a DBA just so you can avoid the "LLC" suffix when your domain name is used on ads, business cards, and logos?

So for example, an LLC registered as "MyAwesomeBrand.com," you wouldn't be able to just show "MyAwesomeBrand.com" on the logo, you must show "MyAwesomeBrand.com LLC"?

You have to register the LLC as "Random Name LLC," then register a DBA "MyAwesomeBrand.com" just so you can show "MyAwesomeBrand.com" on marketing materials? Is this the usual way for web companies (New York)?

In the U.S., small business is defined as . . .

    Posted: 04 Feb 2019 02:27 AM PST

Less than $7 million in yearly revenue for non-manufacturing businesses and fewer than 500 employees for manufacturers. Publications (both online and print) who specialize in small to medium sized business can and do adjust those boundaries as they see fit.

Let's be civil with any disagreements. Thank you.

California resident, creating an online only presence, possible to create out of state LLC?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2019 09:05 PM PST

I'm going to be running a drop-ship business, so no physical buildings/employees. I'm a California resident, however I'd like to incorporate my LLC in another state with a lower population to take advantage of not charging my customers sales tax. Mind you, i'm not trying to skirt my income tax to California(I will still report my income as personal income in California), but in online business, not charging sales tax is a huge advantage. Having an LLC in California will create a nexus and thus mitigate this.

I keep hearing that you will still need to create a California LLC in addition to the out of state LLC, is this true for online-only presence businesses like drop shipping?

Live in Downtown Detroit and want to open a small business with my partner. Have up to $50,000 to start. Interested in a business with level of scalability. What does everyone suggest? Thanks!

    Posted: 03 Feb 2019 07:27 PM PST

    I have heard:

    1. Liquor store.
    2. Meat Market.
    3. Tire shop
    4. Landscaping
    5. Plumbing

Don't know if these are taking advantage of new markets. Maybe that's irrelevant. Educate me.

How to get people to sign up

    Posted: 03 Feb 2019 10:48 PM PST

In Sweden (and others countries to) we have some high schools (called gymnasium in Sweden) that focus on business and you get to start your own company on school time and it is a "real" company where you could do whatever you'd like. Me and my other 3 friends have a company were we set up football tournaments for kids aged 8-12. We are having our first tournament feb 17th and 6 days ago we were visiting some schools in our city to promote the tournament. We had flyers with information about the event and how to sign up. We asked the kids if they were interested and there was about 300 kids who were interested. But yet we only have 2 kids signed up 6 days later. And everyone that signs up need to pay 149 swedish crowns (about 15€) and everyone gets stuff with worth of about 40€. My question is why more kids have'nt signed up or should we not worry and it will come? The last day to sign up is 15th of feb. And also we posted information about the event on Facebook. What could we do more in order to get more kids to sign up.

Buying iPhones and reselling in Italy Idea

    Posted: 03 Feb 2019 10:44 PM PST

    Hi all,

Today, I was brainstorming ideas to possibly develop into a business plan soon. I currently work in the Apple store, and I noticed the price difference between the United States and Italy. In the United States, the iPhone xs sells for $1000 for an unlocked 64gb. In italy however, an iPhone xs unlocked 64gb sell for $1,356.17 in USD.

I'd like to possibly start up a website where we sell the iPhone to italian customers for cheaper than the Italian price of $1356. (Maybe, $1100 or $1200, not sure how much yet). And basically just undercut the price and make some profit per sell. I'd like to then market this website to the italian equivalent of craigslist (Again, I haven't done my research yet, but that's the idea). Additionally, I'd like to offer free shipping, an included lightning to audio jack adapter (this isn't included with the iPhone anymore from the Apple Store) and a guide/video on how to transfer your sim card, and transfer the data via i cloud to your new iPhone and how to activate Apple Care on the iPhone via the Apple website. This of course will be all explained in italian :)

What do you guys think of this idea? Are there better ways to go about this? Is the demand for i Phones in Italy high enough to take on this endeavor? I'm open to ideas, so please let me know your honest opinion! Thanks!

Anxiety is Setting In - New business project is underway.

    Posted: 03 Feb 2019 07:14 PM PST

I have been in business for 7 years but recently I have decided it would be a good idea to take it to the next level. One would think I love to torture myself because just when things are settling in and life is going well I find some way to add something to my plate.

This time I have really done it.

I currently run a pet care business in my local area. We do care and training in the customers home. It's been doing well though it's not a profit machine its fun and it's my business.

Now I am opening a schoolhouse (training facility for dogs). I have been getting backers for the project from my loyal customers. Everyone is really excited about what we will be offering.

However, the sleepless nights and the sickening feeling is creeping in again. Every time I start something new and especially back when I first started my business I lived in a state of anxiety was I going to be successful or would it flop?

Have you dealt with this high level of anxiety when starting a business, pivoting, or working on the next big project?

    How do you cope?!?

Share your stories and how you deal with the stress and worry.

Donating to a jack and Jill

    Hello all,

I will be donating a gift card for my services in the amount of $100 for a "basket donation" to a jack and Jill.

I was thinking of making a small display with some literature to educate on the benefits of my service, promotional pictures, and business cards.

Has anyone ever done this sort of thing?

    Property insurance questions

    Posted: 03 Feb 2019 06:28 PM PST

There's been a lot of local news coverage about a business that burned down and didn't have enough insurance, or possibly not the right kind, and that prompted me to take another look at my own business property insurance.

Some of my shop equipment and furniture has taken years of DIY work and lucky auction finds to put together, and I've been having a hard time getting a clear answer from my insurance company on how they figure replacement costs and what constitutes "like kind and quality".

To give a fairly extreme example, we've got an industrial marking laser that we use to put legends and serial numbers on metal parts. It was a particularly lucky auction score, and all told I put around $700 into it, plus many hours of labor to get it running. The laser manufacturer quoted me $26,000 for a new one. That's just the laser; the linear and rotary axis upgrades I built for it would cost thousands more if they were ordered new, and it's hard to point to a direct replacement because what I've got was custom made for one particular use case.

There are a few ways I can imagine that a claim might work (total coverage limit notwithstanding):

    1. They cover the full price of a new replacement, at $26k plus several thousand more for the other parts. I'd like it to work this way, but my gut tells me it's not likely when my laser is many years old and has thousands of hours on it.
    2. They cover whatever they calculate to be the market value of my laser. This seems more likely, but if they decided that value was $2000 because two years ago one sold for that much, it doesn't actually give me the ability to replace it, since it may be years before another one becomes available.
    3. They cover the cheapest suitable replacement that is actually available. This seems reasonable to me, but it might get hairy when it comes to deciding what constitutes a suitable replacement. I have a replacement in mind in case the laser dies, but it'd be a different type, cheaper and slower but more powerful and capable of doing things outside of the scope of the original laser, not an obvious direct replacement.
    4. They cover what I actually paid, which wouldn't do me a damn bit of good when it comes to getting things running again.

The insurance company says it's based on replacement cost and not depreciated value, but I don't know if they take into account scarcity of replacements. I'm asking these questions directly of my agent, of course, but I get replies of a sentence or two and it's taking forever to get the information I need. Can anyone with some insurance knowledge help me out here?

Also, and I'll probably make another post for this later, I'd really like to hear from anyone who's been through a major insurance claim, to hear what things they overlooked or misunderstood and what they'd have done differently.

    Thanks!

Home and Commercial Cleaners - I need your help on pricing and securing more clients.

    Posted: 03 Feb 2019 12:01 PM PST

Hello Everyone, and thanks for reading this.

I recently started a Residential and Commercial cleaning business. At the moment I am more focused on the residential end of things. Pre Christmas and New Years work was plentiful but since, things have slowed.

I have advertised in numerous places but I understand word of mouth is very important, so what I'm considering is offering a very competitive price, even if it is not super profitable for me, just so I can show clients how quality my work is.

Do any of you who have a similar business have a pricing strategy?

For example: 100 dollars up to 3000 Sq Feet?

I would offer 80 dollars for 3000 Sq feet, and then eventually raise my prices.

Any advice is seriously appreciated and thank you for your time!

Business is mostly cash. How to proceed for taxes?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2019 02:15 PM PST

My small business is cash or via Venmo transactions. I used to log it, but I lost a worksheet I had when I moved primary jobs and I stopped using QuickBooks for personal reasons.

So how do I proceed? Do I go to my CPA and just say "Well, I earned $X in 2018."? It is a service, so no one asks for receipts. It is also a home based personal training business.

I do have expenditures that I've kept some track of, like insurance, advertisements, etc.

Advice on what certifications to get as a small-time baker being asked to do catering and sell at cafes?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2019 01:48 PM PST

I'm doing what I can to help my amazing baker friend navigate her way to having her own legit small business. Beyond my area of expertise is trying to understand New York's Cottage Food Regulations/Home-Food Processing Rules/Baker's Bills situation!

She bakes from home, and is being asked to do regular drop-offs at cafes in Manhattan, provide catering for events, do wedding cakes, all sorts of great stuff. She uses raw eggs and fruit and things that seem to be problematic in terms of some 'farmers' market' type licenses.

Whether you know this stuff or just know who we should be speaking to, any advice would be much appreciated!

Happy Sunday Y'all! I want to meet more entrepreneurs in person, especially those of you who have years of experience. What are some of the best resources or groups I should join to enable me to meet awesome small business owners like you?

Looking for a way to make leads available to a network of service providers quickly

    Posted: 03 Feb 2019 09:50 AM PST

I have been running an on-demand mobile notary business for a few years, but recently had a baby. The current dynamic at home with the baby just doesn't allow for me to be as consistently quick to respond to leads and travel as I need to be (fast/easy work, but a quick response time is key), so I'm pivoting to a referral network model.

I need to find a way to:

    1) Alert the providers in my referral network that a job is available

    2) Convey the basic details of the job to all of them at once, so they can decide if they are interested/able at that time

    3) "Award" the job to the first person to claim it, then make the lead's phone number available to them with the expectation that they will immediately call the lead after claiming it to verify the details and verify that they can indeed do the job

    4) Some way to "unclaim" the job if it turns out that the provider who claimed it can't complete it, making it available to everyone again

Most of my service providers will not be doing this as a full-time job, this is something I do after work and on weekends as a side-gig, and they will be in the same situation for the most part so I need a fast/easy way to communicate the leads to all of them and would love to promise a call back to the client within 5 minutes of submitting a request (even if it is just a call or text to say that nobody is available). I'm thinking some implementation of Twilio SMS could work for this, but is there anything better out there? Ideally it wouldn't involve any inbound calls.

I'm also a little worried that I might refer a job, then the provider just chooses not to pay me the referral fee. I don't have deep relationships with these people. In this industry, they could easily say something like "Yeah, I got there and couldn't do the job because x." and it would be a completely reasonable excuse (I could only complete about 90% of the jobs I traveled to when I was able to do everything myself). I could issue them all square readers and just pay them their share (the majority of the revenue) the next day, but they could still just take cash and say they couldn't complete the job. Would calling the client the next day to ask them how there service was be a good "2 birds, 1 stone" solution for this? Or is there a cleaner solution that I'm just missing? Obviously, they realize that if they don't pay the fee they won't get future work, but I'm just trying to get ahead of the challenge.

Business Start Up Help - Willing to Trade Knowledge

    Posted: 03 Feb 2019 06:44 AM PST

To begin, I managed the day to day operations at a small transportation company, specifically semi trucks, for about 7-8 years and still manage the company's financials from home. I basically pay the bills, make sure the day to day manager has money to make the business function properly for the week, and balance the checking account. It's something my dad started while I was in school and I took over in 2008 when I graduated. It has had its up and downs but I can't complain, I put about two hours a week into it and it pays almost all our bills.

Late 2015, I noticed I was playing on my phone far more than I was actually working. My dad raised my brother and I doing construction and home remodeling. I asked him to teach me because I was no longer needed at the trucking company on a regular basis. Fast forward about 3 years and here we are building pole barns, remodeling/flipping homes, and doing almost everything you could do under a residential roof five days a week. He's 62 years old and has really dropped out of the work lineup for us as of late. He is suppose to cap some windows tomorrow but we'll see if it really happens. He deserves a nice retirement. I like him being able to come and go and not worry about the jobs. I owe him a lot.

Another business venture I have been reading about is working with banks and homeowners and cleaning out repossessed homes. This led me to researching crime set cleanup (murder, suicide, drugs, etc). I'm not even sure what the proper name of the profession is called. However, I'm interested.

Why I am posting here is because I want to expand myself. I want to start a clean out/clean up business but I know little of how to get started. Of course I am going to need a vendors' license, insurance, bond, etc. but I am not too sure how I could get my foot in the door quickly. Someone showing me would really expedite the process. I did do some legwork with my research and I spoke to my bank today about how they went about their repossessed homes and getting them ready for resale. They referred me to a third party that handles all their properties and they hire small companies for their property needs throughout the country. I do understand that the clean out and crime clean up may be two separate entities but I am willing to learn the ins and outs of both.

What I am asking of you is information. Do you or anyone you know have a business or work at a business like described and know how I should go about my start up? If there is anyone out there, far enough to where we are not competing against each other, I would love to trade the skills I've learned through working in the two fields that I have the last 12 years. I know the ins and outs of the transportation company albeit some rust that may come with being away from the office the last few days. I can wire an entire house up in a few days, install windows, build barns, roof, install any flooring, minor plumbing, and would be able to help or exchange any information I have for yours.

Again, maybe a long shot to find someone like me out there that would be willing to trade some info to gain some info but I like to learn and I would be thrilled to help someone educate themselves in a new business venture as I would be even more thrilled to learn something new.

Thank you for reading my post!!

What to offer serious cold callers on comission?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2019 11:42 AM PST

I've been trying to set up a commission cold call team and its just been a nightmare. Its for SEO, i have the phone number list, i set them up in slack, i even wrote them a damned script they cann(optionally) use. All they need to do is get the email address and connect me.

Im offering 20% commission (on REVENUE, not profits), monthly and getting few takers, and none of them follow through once they're set up. The job is even 100% remote.

~30% of revenue goes to other costs so i cant give them like 50%.

Whats a good number i should offer, and more importantly, where can i find people?
