I received my official scores in the mail today. As a father of two who worked over 2500 hours this past calendar year, this is my greatest accomplishment.

That awkward moment during busy season when...

    Posted: 04 Feb 2019 04:02 PM PST

...Your 300 lbs client hands you their phone with their bank information on it to deposit their refund into and you try to zoom in to better see the numbers but instead you swipe to the left and see a new picture and it's a sext they sent the night before and sweet dear god how do I get that image out of my head?

Eating hours as an intern at B4?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2019 07:14 PM PST

So my senior told me today that I should be eating hours to save on the budget. However, I'm just an intern and I don't know shit as it is. What do I do in this situation. I understand there is a budget but how am I expected to complete things as fast as people who have been here for 1-5 years...?

    Prometric cancellation

    Posted: 04 Feb 2019 03:22 PM PST

Just got an email from Prometric. They cancelled my FAR test, which was scheduled for tomorrow. Which I took a day off for. Reason given was "site closure".

    I hate them.

new to accounting and need help understanding this one stupid journal entry (that I can’t understand lol)

    Posted: 04 Feb 2019 09:15 PM PST

So I'm trying to learn accounting on my own. It's going good as far as I concern but I'm very new to it. I'm still at the basic level of it all so I'm a little stuck on general journal. I had no problem with previous exercises but I can't figure this one out and I absolutely have no one to ask.

    It said:

Jun 5 bought office supplies for $1,000 on account.

7 paid half the amount of the supplies purchased on June 5th then issue note payable for the rest.

Now I understand June 5th's entry just fine but then on the 7th's I'm a little confused. Like debit account payable $500, credit cash for $500 and credit note payable $500? then what else? If I enter it like that then it won't be balance right? So what should I put in? I tried looking it up on google and it didn't help at all

Thank you in advance for all of your answers and for helping me learn 😂😭

Bunch of people just quit, expected to work 70+ hours now

    Posted: 04 Feb 2019 08:16 PM PST

Long story short, I work at a regional firm that just had a lot of turnover due to some policy changes (work from home and pto) and were told we would be working 60 charge hours minimum during busy season this year. To put that in perspective, in my 6 years, you generally worked 60+ only the last two weeks of busy season and 55 from mid January until then.

Well.... with the turnover, a memo went out today require 70 charge hour minimums going forward to "pick up the slack".

I get this is normal for big4, but I didn't sign up for this shit. If I wanted big4, I would have stayed at big4.

Throw in that my best work friend is one of the people who quit, and I'm tempted to do the math and see if I can quit without a job lined up.

Has anyone ever been through this? I don't like a 30% increase to my busy season without a 30% pay increase during that time.

Audit work hours are illegal and inhumane, and the status quo should be changed.

Using throwaway just in case. Is this a vent? Yes.

Am I just tired af? Yes.

    Hotel? Trivago.
