What are typical activity numbers for you? Posted: 30 Dec 2018 06:07 AM PST How many cold phone calls do you make daily? Not looking for conversion rates, but do share if you have them. I'm a technical solopreneur so I'm doing my own sales along all the other stuff. I'm looking to hire help, but need to understand what numbers are normal in full-time sales. [link] [comments] |
How do I land a huge sale with a luxury condo? Posted: 30 Dec 2018 11:59 AM PST I currently have a job installing screen/vinyl retractable products for a business that mostly works with clients that are CEO's, business owners, and just the general upper class. Our one particular motorized product has a high price tag (min is $7,000 a job) and after talking to my boss, he wants me to start doing sales from Jan-Feb when things slow down because of the cold weather. Which is fine and honestly something I've been wanting to do for a long time. I already have a few places I want to contact but the biggest one is a luxury condo being built that'll range between $900,000 - $2.2mm and would be perfect for our motorized products to be installed in. And I would love to somehow get into contact with someone that has the power to make a deal and sign a contract. Though I have no idea how to get into contact with who I need to make my pitch to. I've done some research on who's doing the construction and I was able to find the architect's websites' and the interior and exterior designers. I'm not sure if I should try and find an email to get into contact with someone or if I should just use the contact form they have on their websites to try and get in touch with someone who can make decisions. Any advice is greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |
To all the newbies and even veterans who still have trouble psyching themselves up for sales calls Posted: 30 Dec 2018 10:42 AM PST Just like a lot of you guys, I've been struggling with working myself up mentally to go into new businesses and introduce myself to potential clients. I came across a video recently that's really helped me. It basically described how your brain associates leaving your comfort zone with pain and staying in your comfort zone with pleasure. In the video, the speaker discusses how to stop this inner monologue with yourself. He claims by asking yourself "what would I do right now if I were ten times bolder?" then your brain will ignore your fears in order to answer the question. Once you answer the question, immediately do whatever it is you answered the question with. I've tried this out and it's worked wonders on reducing anxiety before going into businesses and has allowed me to go in more confidently. It's nothing super ground breaking, but it helped me make a mental shift so I thought I'd pass the knowledge to you guys since you've been helpful on my sales journey. I'm not endorsing the guy and have no idea who he even is. The video is also a few years old, but if anyone would like to watch the full thing it's linked below. I think it's around 13ish minutes. Good luck on your journey to crushing it. [link] [comments] |

Are sales the best industry if you just want to make a ton of money to save ? Posted: 29 Dec 2018 04:51 PM PST Long story short, I've been in the hospitality industry for about 10 years and recently took the jump into sales about a month ago, and have been enjoying it since. There's a level of freedom that I really enjoy. I was very skeptical coming into this industry as I have no direct sales experience other than working in restaurants ... I find the communication skills I've gained have helped me tons. Guys on my team have been p ulling in about 5-7k/week more recently, and I look forward to doing the same. Was/is money your motive for getting into this industry? Should I be focusing on other things first? [link] [comments] |
Help using LinkedIn Sales Navigator? Posted: 29 Dec 2018 07:29 PM PST I am BDR in construction SaaS and don't have many tools given to me. One thing I have is Sales Navigator. So far I have had 0 success with it, which can't be right. 0% and not even 1% makes me think it's my problem. I have had no responses to any in-mails. I have had people connect with me, but they never respond. I have tried all different kind of messages to get attention, but nothing. Will someone please help me, because I really want to succeed, please? [link] [comments] |
Should I be concerned if a company offers a draw but no salary? Posted: 29 Dec 2018 07:28 PM PST This is for commercial real estate, if that helps. Most places I've asked offer a draw for agents, but once you pay that off, it falls under a commission-only structure. Also, what's r/sales opinion on real estate agency? I'm graduating soon and want to get a sales job. Real estate looks promising. [link] [comments] |
Advice on approaching friends? Energy Sales Posted: 29 Dec 2018 12:02 PM PST I recently started working for a marketing firm in their sales division here in Chicago and our current client is Exelon. I'm essentially helping people update their bill so that they have a designated utility supplier, and since my client's company both produces the energy AND owns the power lines we are the only first party energy supplier in Illinois. Because of this we make sure that people utilizing us as their provider get the best rate possible on their bill, as opposed to designating a third party supplier or being on a variable rate when you don't designate one. Note: when the resident updates their bill, they don't have to purchase anything and their bill goes down every month. The "sale" is on the backend and the resident doesn't actually deal with it. I'm commission based and am expected to go door to door, but I'm also allowed to make appointments with friends and family and can work 24/7 with no time restraints. My question is: how do I talk to friends to set up appointments without making it sound like I'm trying to sell something? I genuinely want to help them save on their bills and I have the means to make it happen. [link] [comments] |

Presenting, Objections and Close - which method? Posted: 29 Dec 2018 12:08 PM PST I just finished reading Way of the Wolf among other sales books and I'm so confused now. Each book has a different way to build rapport, handle objections, go to the close... I'm having trouble figuring out how to know what method or philosophy to follow. Does anyone have an author or system they follow almost exclusively and how do you pick? And how do you reconcile all these different sales advice? [link] [comments] |
F2F interview with Sales Managers of both Cintas and Paychex. Posted: 29 Dec 2018 12:35 PM PST I'm pursuing medical device sales thus I am planning on working for either Cintas or Paychex first. Hypothetically, if it came down to it and I got a job offer from both, which would be a better choice in regards to entering medical device sales? [link] [comments] |
