Wanting to start a business with my skills but I'm unsure where to start. Posted: 23 Nov 2018 10:59 PM PST So I know a metric boat load of programming languages, have worked professionally as a Linux System Administrator for years, and am currently a DevOps engineer. As a hobby I've tinkered with micro-controllers and can make devices to do things. With this skillset I'm able to make desktop apps, phone apps, websites, games, tools, systems for product tracking, and much more. What I've been wanting to do lately is provide a service for people to hire me as a contractor to build things that their business needs. As a part of the contract if I need to bring in people to fill a knowledge gap (for things such as UI design, art, etc), I would even do that. Most importantly, after building a tool or app, provide service for the client. Actually doing the work and handling contracts isn't hard for me, where I'm uncertain is... how do I start doing this? I'm extremely technical, but I don't have the marketing expertise to get this going. I would like to avoid the type of clients that want high quality work for low quality pay that freelance websites tend to cater to. All said and done, I would like to attract business partners, not just clients. People with clear goals that need to be met, that I can build a team that is a part of their business, not just the 3rd party vendor. Maybe someone with marketing experience might be able to help me out with how to get this idea off the ground. Advice and/or pointing me in the right direction would be much appreciated. Need help with establishing my IT Consulting company for Government Contracts Posted: 23 Nov 2018 06:51 PM PST We are setting up an IT Consulting Business to bid on Government Contracts. It will be Woman and Minority owned. Currently, do not have any earnings to report. Just trying to establish the company and structure. I'm just not sure where to start from... Should I register it as an LLC or an S-Corp? Can we bid on government contracts with an LLC or not? When bidding on government contracts, would S-Corps be favored over LLCs? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Nov 2018 06:36 PM PST Hello, i am posting here because maybe someone could need development services. I'm not begging for money, i'm begging for work and i am offering low rates in exchange of work. I'm due to pay rent+sevices by monday, and i'm still missing 400EUR/USD, i just moved to a new country with mom and wife, wife has no papers and hasn't been able to find work yet (we're married, i'm a Portuguese citizen, but we had to tramit her papers so she gets the resident permit and in a few years citizenship, we are in Portugal, came here from Venezuela), so i'm the only one working as of now, looking for formal work but hadn't found good options yet so i have to freelance in the meantime... What can i do?I can either create complete websites, fix problems on your already existing website or add new features to your already existing website. For completely custom solutions:

What quantitative major is best for someone looking to work at an investment bank or fund? Posted: 23 Nov 2018 07:37 AM PST I'm currently a senior in high school. I plan to double-major in Business/Finance and a math-related quantitative major to make myself extremely marketable. What quantitative major would be my best choice? [link] [comments] |
