Software for Territory mapping Posted: 07 Sep 2018 07:05 AM PDT Hello, I use TerritoryMapper to map our sales territories. Its ok but not great. Wonder if anyone has recommendations on better software to use. We assign territories by county/MSA and in some cases (LA county) by zip code. I need to be able to produce maps and calculate population data for each territory. It would be great if it included hospitals and surgery centers in the map, but seems like I have to buy that data (or can I pull it from Google ?). I work for a small startup...we aren't on SalesForce and whatever I use can't be a lot of $$. [link] [comments] |

One client who has promised me 3 sales over the last 5 months - none of them actually came through. He just did it again and I was supposed to have confimration today. Measuring Marketing Impact on Sales Bottom Line Posted: 07 Sep 2018 08:50 AM PDT I posted recently looking for guidance on a project I'm working on. I've added more info below, hoping to get some guidance from the group. I work at an in-house agency and am wondering how to go about figuring out how much our marketing efforts affect our business' bottom line. Not sure how to get to the numbers, and was hoping someone here has worked on a similar project and can provide guidance or resources. We do have a CRM and use utm tracking. We do TV, radio and digital, plus social. Our sales are done in-store, but it's hard to tell which messaging got them there, or if they're there because it's the closest franchise for the brand they want. Other than pooling numbers on traffic and reach, I am unsure of where to start. I can estimate how many people have seen/heard/interacted with our messaging, I'm simply unsure of how to figure the conversion rate of the messaging. Have anyone here worked for an agency, internal or external, and come up with something similar for clients? Anyone in sales seen a report from an agency with such information? Thanks in advance. I resell products from a distributor. What would be wonderful, if I had a spreadsheet that would tell me the markup percentage and margin based on what my cost is and my retail. Retail Sales - Getting to the customer first Posted: 07 Sep 2018 05:51 AM PDT I work in retail sales and part of a team of 5, usually 3 to 5 are on average. Now we have to all do our followups, merchandising, faults etc but i am finding whilst i for the first couple of months made more than anyone, i have done a lot of stock checking, signage etc, and now trying to be first to the customer i feel flat.
Maybe it is my greeting, my approach, wanting to get to the customer first that puts customers off, how do i handle this, as in retail sales its tough when there are 5 staff and trying to get those sales. [link] [comments] |

The job itself is commission only with full benefits. We have a call center that gives somewhat misleading information and collects a small payment from the customer to have someone (me) come out. I give them accurate information on product and pricing that they most likely will rebuttal against because they thought it was free/less expensive and get them to spend more money. The job requires I buy my own tools. I was really just looking for experience in sales. I'm tired of blue collar jobs. I understand working my way up. Is this what entry level sales jobs are? If not, what do some more transparent entry level sales look like? I get that a pitch is a pitch, but I would at least like them to see it coming and not hit them from the left field with no warning(90% of time). It's hard to believe in your company and product when people are calling you a scammer. I'm new and ready/willing to learn please enlighten me if this is the norm and necessary for my to get into a much more reputable company with better pay and benefits. [link] [comments] |

E.g. you lose 500k of revenue a year by clients leaving you and we give insight in how to prevent that, which helps you reduce missed revenue by 100k a year. I want to give potential clients a clear example by visualizing such a "pain" we can help them solve. My manager does not want to display such an example in a sheet or picture when I visit potential clients. "Our clients know this already, open doors like this shouldn't be communicated, we should convince clients of our value regarding retentionmanagement." he says. I listen, write things down instead of using my laptop and try to solve problems instead of pushing our SaaS during salesmeetings. What do you guys think? Need help getting my first sale Posted: 06 Sep 2018 08:34 PM PDT Hey guys and gals, long time lurker here. I just recently started my first b2b job in industrial sales, I'm about a month into my 9 month training but the boss man has given me the okay to start cold calling. Heres the problem, I don't know the first thing about getting to the decision makers or who the decision makers are in my field. I've never worked industrial sales. The biggest issue is I really can't talk numbers and savings with these guys when I get to them. I just don't know enough about the products I'm selling or the price points. I'm studying as much as I can though. I have been told everything you learn is field training based. Surprisingly my first cold call went great, I actually got a conference with a major company and was extremely close to 700k in sales, but the deal fell through and since then I've been rejected/can't find solid leads. Anyone that has experience in this industry or just has advice to give would be appreciated, I primarily am focusing on water treatment and chemical sales if that is anyone's expertise. Thanks! PS I never thought I would be in sales at all, I'm not particularly the most interesting guy or amazingly social, but I got a degree in the silences and that is what they wanted. The layout was really sharp, the features on the page were really nice but it seemed a bit cumbersom to get, as opposed to just picking one up. Also, the set-up and monthly fee seem's kinda high (I think he said 250 to set up, $10/mnth for hosting). What are your thoughts on them? [link] [comments] |

It seems brilliant, a person who is scouting street markets for jewelry, Decorative Statues etc. How do you find these in the industry? There are other names for these "shopping agents", it is synonymous with any syntax I have not yet learned. I'm looking for any website or similar to find someone who buys from Egypt, marocco. Received an offer, not sure if I should accept, seeking advice Posted: 06 Sep 2018 05:34 PM PDT Hey sales I've been using the shotgun approach while applying to jobs and recently was just extended an offer to be an outside sales representative for a company that sells and manufactures labels and packaging. I went on an interview yesterday and they said they were willing to give me a shot. Currently, I am making about 36k a year working for Los Angeles County. They offered me a base salary of 30k to start, with uncapped commission, working 50 hours a week minimum. There will be a review in 6 months, and I am unsure if I will be able to bump my base salary at that time. Originally they wanted to offer 25k a year with a bump to 30k at the 6-month review. They said it is highly unlikely that I will make a sale in the first year, a quote from the owner of the company "You'd make more at McDonald's in your first year, but by year 5 you could be making 150k a year" Now obviously, that sounds pretty great and that's definitely something I'd be interested in, but I'm hesitant to take the offer for a few reasons.
I'm really, really conflicted because if this is as lucrative as they say it can be, then I don't want to be kicking myself in a few years for not taking it, but at the same time, I've managed to line up 4 interviews so I know there will be other fish in the sea in the future as well should I not accept. Should I call the owner and see if he will bump his offer to 35k? Should I let them know that I can't start until 9/17 at the earliest? Other opportunities I am up to interview for (no offer yet):
