    Thoughts on WYNN's short term?

    Posted: 01 Jul 2018 01:40 PM PDT

Where do you think the stock moves from here? Broke 200sma a while back and doesn't seem to be gathering any upward momentum just yet. Still further speculation as to the extent on which China crackdowns on games. Good buying opportunity or to wait to see how short term movements play out?

    Thoughts on GSHD?

    Posted: 01 Jul 2018 01:27 PM PDT

I have a diversified and solid portfolio but I hold a bit of GSHD just as my "gambling" portion of my stocks. Anyone here big holders or big opponents of this stock and why?

Need to save $7,000 over the summer for college, is trading something that could help with that?

    Posted: 01 Jul 2018 12:59 PM PDT

If you'd like context as to why I'm looking into trading as opposed to getting another job, read this next paragraph. If not and you're just looking for my question, skip to the bold text.

I was recently accepted into a private university in Japan, which is great because I've always wanted to study abroad and Japan's society is something that I vibe really well with. One of the benefits of studying abroad is the lower tuition costs, which is absolutely terrific. In total, the cost of my tuition for a year came down to $8,000 after I earned a 25% tuition reduction scholarship. My parents had been saving money for my college for years in advance so they are generously covering tuition while leaving the living costs to me. I picked a pretty small apartment (even for Kyoto standards) and have estimated a budget of around $6,500 to $7,000 for my first semester. When I started I had about $300 in a savings account and after doing some commission work on my blog for half a month I've gotten that up to around $1,000. I also have plans to start doing streams to boost the rate of donations and/or commissions but even with that I'm still worried about whether or not I'll be able to make the $7,000 deadline. I currently work full time on my father's farm to pay reparations for a roof over my head and food when I need it. Unfortunately, the nearest town is just far enough away for it to be a hassle to drive into, which makes getting a second job out of the question, not to mention the fact that I'm leaving in early September so I'd only be at that job for a hot minute. I'm worried sick that I won't be able to make this happen for myself. My parents have reassured me that if I'm short they're not just going to abandon me in Japan and that they'll support me, but at 19 years old, 20 by the time I leave, I find that continuing to rely on my parents is kind of embarrassing, and I don't want to be a burden forever. I'm looking into stocks because it's something that wouldn't require physical investment that I could be spending doing extra farmwork or doing commissions.

In short, I need to make about $100 to $150 dollars a day. I wouldn't rely on stocks for that entirely, since I imagine starting out in the stock market doesn't have you making hundreds of dollars on day one, but I want to look into investing a bit over the summer to supplement what else I have coming in. Is this feasible? Am I looking at this unrealistically? I'm not trying to "get rich quick" or whatever, I just want to make enough money to pay my bills while in school. I'd just look this up but my situation, I feel, is so specific that I wouldn't be able to get an entirely accurate answer from any preexisting guide.

    Thank you for your time.

    Time to Take some Chips?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2018 09:29 PM PDT

I've been in the market now for roughly almost 3-4 years now and to say that I have been enjoying this crazy bull run would be an understatement.

I'm now at a crossroads as to whether or not to hedge some of my investments.

I currently own the entire FANG, including Apple, Nvidia, Alibaba, some more gaming stocks, and a few consumer staples like Tesla, Nike, Disney, and even some Monster Energy.

I've already gotten some longer time frame options to help hedge against the coming bears (with some relative success on some already), but I'm unsure of what the future truly holds here. I'm not a trump supporter by any means, but I am appreciative of the global attention and awareness that he's garnered for it. But as we all know, the market can be a double edged sword..

Tbh, I'm a bit on edge about the current state of things on the table with the trade war tariffs. I refuse to listen to ignorant bulls that claim that we aren't in one, because these are obvious precursors to a projected path nobody wants to walk down on. And tariffs will slow growth, despite earnings. How much of that will be reflected however, I have no idea.

These are just my current thoughts on the state of the market, and I'm keeping a close eye to my positions and an ear to the ground. And right now, I keep hearing a lot of rumble, and I don't want to get caught holding the plate.

Curious what other investors (who aren't blind to earnings) thoughts are on the current state of the market, because I personally can't see this bull run continuing much more unless we get some kind of larger catalysts to push us forward. Consumer confidence is still solid so far, but I am fearful that increased taxes on products from the tariffs in the future (especially to e-commerce) could cause some serious resistance to growth.

Trade war will legitimately begin after this week. Therefore should we expect tech stocks to drop again this week/afterwards?

    Walgreens (WBA)

    Posted: 30 Jun 2018 09:00 PM PDT

I bought Walgreens on Thursday after the 10% dip with the news Amazon was buying Pillpack. Could we be seeing another "Amazon bounce" like what happened with Kroger and all the other grocery stores after Amazon bought Whole Foods. And could there be a change Walgreens merges with another company in the healthcare field to fight Amazon?

Name for failing stocks that might turn around?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2018 02:43 PM PDT

This might be a dumb question but is there a name for stocks like HMNY and Frontier that were once 30-80 dollars but have decreased dramatically but could perhaps turn around? Like a term to describe volatile stocks that have a low buy in but will either be a complete loss or a great profit.

    AMD od NVIDIA?

    Posted: 01 Jul 2018 12:21 AM PDT

Hello AMD is on the stock since 1980... it had two all time higs in the 90s (dot.com) and in the 2006 before 2008 crisis. Then it crashed. Now it seems to be going to make an uptrend.. and the fact that this company is manifacturing chips that will be more and more useful in the future for machine learning and AI ais making me more upset on this company. Which one would you choose btween AMD and NIVIDIA, and WHY?

Starbucks worth buying shares @ 17% dip?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2018 11:16 PM PDT

So today out of curiosity i looked up starbucks stock and it has tanked like 17% in a week is this a stock worth investing for a mid-long term outlook (pretty sure starbucks isnt about to go bankrupt anytime soon so I assume they will go up eventually). Supposedly the dip was due to Howard Schultz transitioning executive chairman position to Kevin Johnson, and Scott Maw retiring news)

    Helios and Matheson Analytics

    Posted: 30 Jun 2018 11:51 PM PDT

I was looking at the chart of this stock. I don't understand why this stock in 2005 was so all time high at 25£.... then it went bleeding out trought the 2008 crisis.. ok ... and suddenly in 2018 it went from 3 to 11£...and then crashed to 0.36£..... what happened? (I have not followed this company).... why that huge spike in 2018 and ù this crash?
