How would you like your commission structured? Posted: 04 Jul 2018 04:36 AM PDT I'm about to hire a few sales folks for the first time selling Hosted VoIP over the phone. It'll be very little in person work. I'd like to eventually hire in and SDR to prospect for them. But that won't happen immediately. If you were to talk into a job like this selling recurring revenue for Hosted VoIP. How would you like your commission structured? My best guess says quote would be around $3k - $6k per month. Although that's just a guess as I have no real numbers to go on. [link] [comments] |
5 Minute Sales Pitch in Phone Interview Posted: 04 Jul 2018 11:25 AM PDT I have a phone interview this Friday. I was told that at the end I would give a 5 Minute Sales Pitch of whatever I wanted to sell. Can someone give me a template as to how to present this? I took a few sales courses in college. But doing a random 5 Minute pitch is a bit daunting. Thanks y'all [link] [comments] |

Not in sales but have to do a sales pitch. What should I expect? Posted: 04 Jul 2018 10:57 AM PDT I am not in sales and have never sold anything. I am an engineer and have recently been asked to do a presentation for some potential customers on some software I've been working on. Unfortunately, this presentation is tomorrow so not a lot of notice or guidance is being provided. I was hoping you fine folks could help there by sharing your insights and experiences. I'm primarily looking to understand how the expectations for a sales type presentation differ from a standard engineering (technical) presentation and what sort of questions to expect from the customers. Any feedback would be much appreciated though! [link] [comments] |

Any advice for a new freight broker? Posted: 03 Jul 2018 04:52 PM PDT My situation is pretty much this: I'm working to meet the quota set for me for new customers that I need to be closing, within successful freight brokerage company. I've had training and all that to build rapport with customers and how to close but I'm still struggling trying to find new customers from the possibilities that are left. Which means all of the big name shippers are off the table. Now I'm here as a newbie schmuck trying to find their way in what's left. And I'm getting stuck in a rut of asking if companies ever use brokers to find new leads (which as you can imagine isn't very successful.) Does anyone have tips that I could use to keep my pipeline filled? Whether it is just a ideas for a new script or places to look? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Jul 2018 07:42 PM PDT I notice that when i speak at times i tend to mumble which makes it difficult for me to sound professional and to have that tonality that JB loves to use. Do you guys have any tips ? [link] [comments] |
Working on thesis about emotional intelligence in sales - need some sources Posted: 04 Jul 2018 04:58 AM PDT Dear r/sales, thank you for being one of the best and most useful subreddit ever. While I've been working for a big 4 company as a sales specialist for one and a half year I must now finish my studies. As the title says, I am currently writing my bachelor's thesis about emotional intelligence in sales and the daily life of a salesman. Themes I will be writing about are sales process (as new as possible), fear and feelings, self management (motivating, goal setting, attitude etc), interaction skills (DISC-profile). I will also interview professionals working among sales about these themes. Do you know any good books, papers, analysis, surveys etc. about the topic I am writing at and the themes included? As far as I know, sales process is well written, but the emotional side is something I keep having trouble finding sources. Colleen Stanley's book about emotional intelligence in sales is one thing I know for sure. Any advice and input appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Possibly starting an TV/Digital Ad Agency. Anyone have any advice? Posted: 04 Jul 2018 04:18 AM PDT I work in local Broadcast TV Sales. (just over a year now) - (I basically go B2B and convince people to let my company shoot a commercial and buy into our marketing plans). I love my job....I love making marketing plans...and I LOVE watching businesses grow. Here of lately though I question my company's interest. I don't always think they have my clients best interest, they try to sale some things overpriced. And they act like we are the all in one marketing solution for any local businesses. (just simply not true, we are great but common now.) I see the benefits of one of my clients to buy other TV stations in the market. I'm thinking of looking to starting my own agency in the future, so I can buy all the best plans in the market for my clients on all different platforms. It just the only way I feel like I can truly optimize a marketing plan. A good marketing plan could have more than just TV and Digital...hell it could have Radio, Billboards, and PR sponsorship's. Can anyone relate or give any advice who has been in the media industry? Thanks! (sorry for grammar errors...mama tried.) [link] [comments] |
Document management practices during sales process Posted: 04 Jul 2018 02:11 AM PDT Hello sales network, Brief background about me: I work as sales engineer selling chemical process equipment: reactors, heat exchangers, powder handling systems. Deal sizes from 5000 to 500 000 EUR. Our firm works as an agent covering territory for our principals. We have our own in-house developed CRM/Order processing system, based on MS ACCESS. It does not provide document management. The challenge with larger projects is that sales process extends over several months, containing meetings, skype meetings, email messages, exchange of drawings and documents, between me and customer, and me and our vendor, and all three of us. With all this, it's difficult to keep track of all it. Longer tenure colleagues use outlook folders for project document management - collecting all stuff under specific project or customer. I would like to stay out of outlook. Those who work in similar field - what are your practices to collect project documentation, correspondence, files - to quickly find anything needed already down few months the sales process? Posted: 03 Jul 2018 02:13 PM PDT Has anyone worked in a position where they have the proverbial "Fire the bottom 10% every month" routine? I have a few low producers I have been debating dropping the axe on recently but the hiring process is such a pain in the ass. At what point do I determine someone just isn't working with anymore and I should toss them. [link] [comments] |

Anyone have experience as Comcast/ Xfinity SMB Account Exec.? Posted: 03 Jul 2018 03:58 PM PDT Basically looking for a change from my current role at the retail level for a Cellular Carrier. Has anyone had any experience working for Comcast/Xfinity as an SMB rep? I'm just trying to get an idea of other people's experiences in this position. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Advice on door-to-door lead generating Posted: 03 Jul 2018 03:25 PM PDT I used to work for a home remodeling company that would let us canvass anyone and anything. We would never get a permit and would dress in t-shirts and jeans. No matter how solid or weak the lead was, to my old boss it was about pouring the leads in. I now work for a new home remodeling and my new boss has never done canvassing before. He wants to do things "the right way". I'll be dressed in a company polo tucked into khakis and nice shoes, no sneakers. We will get a solicitors permit at every town we hit and he only wants quality leads. Any advice on this approach to door to door cold calling? I have to come up with a new pitch, be in charge of hiring respectable candidates, and create a new lead ticket. All this, while playing by the rules and generating tons of quality leads! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Jul 2018 10:49 PM PDT I couldn't find an appropriate sub for this question, this is the closest I could find I'm making a spreadsheet of prices to evaluate where I can make a profit by processing raw materials, but the thing is, different suppliers have different stocks and prices, so I don't know which price I should take into account when adding into the spreadsheet I.e.: Supplier A has 200 units for 35 Supplier B has 800 units for 40 Supplier C has 4000 units for 45 What price do I put on the spreadsheet? I can't just do 5000/3 because that wouldn't reflect the real value I'm sorry if the question is confusing, I don't know exactly what I'm looking for or how to explain it better, I'm just trying to find a way to calculate the cost of processing raw materials [link] [comments] |
Need advice with two door to door objections Posted: 03 Jul 2018 05:45 PM PDT Okay so I'm working for a charity trying to sign people up for a few dollars/euros a week, mainly the price of a cup of coffee etc. The two main objections that are killing me are: I already give to charity, And especially: I wouldn't give my bank details, I'm won't do anything direct debit based. These two are often thrown out during my pitch but the second especially comes even after I've tried to close. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I really need to sign someone tomorrow.
