Apple buying back 11.26% of all stock back? Posted: 03 May 2018 07:43 AM PDT Apple announced that it would do a 100 billion dollar stock buyback. Am I missing something or with 888.307 billion dollar market cap, that means they are buying back 11.26% of their stock back? [link] [comments] |
% of companies beating consensus analyst EPS estimates this season Posted: 03 May 2018 02:30 AM PDT Graph of this issue: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DcN2mJyUwAAJyDJ.jpg the percentage of companies that have beaten consensus analyst EPS estimates this season stands at 71.6%. Any reading over 70% is very strong relative to past earnings seasons. Below we take the beat rate analysis a step further and look at sector beat rates this season. As shown, five sectors have beat rates that are stronger than the overall market, while six sectors have weaker beat rates. The Industrials sector is the standout with a beat rate of 79.5% this season. Technology ranks second at 75%, followed by Health Care and Consumer Staples at 73.1%. On the weak side, Telecom and Energy both have earnings beat rates below 60%, while Utilities and Real Estate are below 65%. We'll be back to post an update on these readings at the end of earnings season in mid-May. What are your thought about this issue? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 May 2018 11:31 AM PDT https://twitter.com/cnbcnow/status/992105256480858112?s=21 Down 5% at the time of this post? How does halting work, and why? [link] [comments] |
Help please: I was gifted stock years ago but I don’t know who’s holding it Posted: 03 May 2018 01:37 PM PDT About 8 years ago I was gifted 50 shares of SHW stock. I am now in a bit of a money pinch but I have no idea how to access this money. How can I figure out where it is held? Who do I contact? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 May 2018 09:46 AM PDT Thought on IQ? Their revenue and user growth is insane. Higher revenue than Netflix and backed by Baidu. Why is it falling today? I feel like US investors underestimate the power of Chinese stocks and their companies. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 May 2018 01:10 PM PDT Any thoughts on why such a dramatic increase? I was under the impression they disappointed on earnings. [link] [comments] |
Need non REIT Monthly Dividend Stock Ideas Posted: 03 May 2018 10:28 AM PDT I love monthy dividends, and want to diversify how I get them, any ideas on some other good monthly div stocks that are not real estate related? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 May 2018 12:38 PM PDT Went long APRN at 2.14 today. This company finally looks to be heading in the right direction. Can't imagine much bad news in the next three months (should actually only be some positive stories) ... earnings came in better than expected today. Charts look right for a bounce to $3.00 and short interest at 37% should make it easy Anyone else playing? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 May 2018 01:57 PM PDT Did anyone like ACIA earnings? What are your thoughts on them long term? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 May 2018 01:26 PM PDT Seems like I can't find anywhere that says they failed in their earnings. An increase of 1 percent in revenue. Seems normal. No reason to sell it off, were people expecting record earnings for a cloud computing company? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 May 2018 03:11 PM PDT What do you think SQs market price range tomorrow will be after the dismal fall after market today? I thought the earnings call wasn't the best, but still positive. Confused [link] [comments] |
DFS, why has it taken such a big hit? Posted: 03 May 2018 11:48 AM PDT Was looking at MasterCard and visa and compared to those two, Discover is taking a huge hit. Why is this stock half the price of Mastercard and Visa but rated so high for growth and its value? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 May 2018 11:43 AM PDT They've beaten earning expectations all last year and recently I read about tons of investors buying millions in Motorola. Thought? Expectations? I say they miss. [link] [comments] |
$ATVI trading halted... who are they acquiring? Posted: 03 May 2018 11:34 AM PDT |

Posted: 03 May 2018 11:01 AM PDT SHOP all but erased their earnings dip as I thought they would, and NVDA is peaking before earnings next Thursday. I was lucky to buy calls for both last week, but I think they both have a few dollars to make a call investor. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 May 2018 10:18 AM PDT Hello! I'm relatively new to the stock market and I was just wondering if you guys had any suggestions for my portfolio. Any companies worth looking into? (edit) A little about me: I'm 24 going into medical school this summer. I've been using the past 6 months to learn as much about investing before I get crammed in my room studying all day :P Total balance:$3500 25% BABA 21% BOTZ 9% FB 22% NVDA 23% VOO [link] [comments] |
This year has been a bad year for investing Posted: 02 May 2018 04:09 PM PDT I just needed to get this off my chest. Been on the losing end of my strategies this year and It's been depressing not being able to make the same amount of money like the past few years. I genuinely feel bad for people that hopped on the bandwagon late last year. This year has just been brutal and been hearing news that the worse is yet to come... [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 May 2018 05:38 PM PDT Hey guys... just got demolished by SQ's earnings...I was wondering if you guys might know whether I should hold sell my shares now, or wait a few days? Will it recover quickly you think? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 May 2018 08:12 AM PDT I currently own one stock of them and bought in when it was $210. I was just messing with stocks back then, but recently have thrown $3000 in my account and looking to get into them more. Do you guys think NVIDIA is oversold right now or overvalued at its current price? With earnings coming up, I was thinking of just buying it now, but not sure. [link] [comments] |
Is there a generally accepted life of companies? Posted: 02 May 2018 07:36 PM PDT Is it realistic to think that cocacola, disney, archer daniels midland, ford, gm, wells fargo, will last much longer? I know some of them are still doing rather well, but they have to be so late in the business cycle. Or is the business cycle a lot longer than I'm thinking. Does anyone have any opinions on this. My guess would be the average business should have a life of about 100 years. Thats a totally arbitrary number though because i feel that 2 generations of management is about as much as a company can handle. [link] [comments] |
Order books: do they include market orders? Posted: 03 May 2018 07:38 AM PDT Hello, I'm trying to understand the structure of Nasdaq: the function of market makers, the difference between Consolidated Tape and an order book, who market makers show quotes to, whether this showing actually implimented by limit orders or in some other. way. But my main concern is where in order books (more specificallly, the part that shows price levels) price levels come from? Are those come from entered limit orders or somehow from market orders as well? [link] [comments] |
Invest Now or Wait for Possible Collapse? Posted: 03 May 2018 07:35 AM PDT I recently acquired $5,000 that I will use to invest in VOO and Visa. Obviously no one actually knows for sure. However, if you were me would you buy now, or wait for a possible collapse? Once I buy, I will leave it there for 30+ years. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 May 2018 06:21 AM PDT As I know MS earn big money from window OS or office program. But why the net income is minus at dec.31.2017. Do you know why? [link] [comments] |
