I'm 18, why am I so scared of starting my own business? Posted: 06 Jan 2018 07:26 PM PST I want to start a business so bad but I feel like I will fail and ruin the rest of my life. I have a $1,000 in the bank. I'm pretty skilled with music, but besides that I want to start any business. I'm joining the Air Force in about 6 weeks, and I'll be out in 4 years. I don't want to be another person on their deathbed wishing they started their own business, or falling into the corporate trap of working for 50+ years, retiring, then dying. What are some tips, advice, techniques, formulas, resources, or anything that can help me? Thank you in advance. [link] [comments] |
How did you decide what business to start? Posted: 06 Jan 2018 06:48 AM PST My husband and I have always been business-minded. Any business where we were managers grew, and we love the advertising organically, customer interaction, and the thrill of growth. Our dream is to own our own business some day, but the options are overwhelming! Currently, we are on the fast-track to paying off our mortgage 15-20 years early and saving up 6 months of expenses as an emergency fund, so that we can focus all of our efforts on starting the business without worrying about having a place to live or if we will be able to eat! As the question states: What's your business and why did you choose that one? Did you start with something smaller? Is this the business you'd ultimately like to keep for the rest of your life? Any details would be amazing. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2018 04:13 PM PST Since summer of 2015, I captured travel photos. In early 2016, I started making greeting cards with my photos. It expanded to wall calendars and a few prints. I want sell photographic murals to others, especially if they are businesses. I already know the market is limited for prints and that is okay. How should I go about approaching and getting a business to pay to use a photo for a wall decoration? How do I go about making my photos discoverable to those shopping for photo murals? How do I go about negotiating good licensing deals to make a large amount of money off photo murals? Is there a software I should use to calculate a good quote? What advice do you have in general? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
Please tear apart/critique my website copy Posted: 06 Jan 2018 02:38 PM PST Hey everyone! I'm in the B2B space and sell to business owners - mainly to digital marketing agency's and businesses that sell to primarily locally owned businesses - chiropractors, plumbers, surgeons, etc. Right now most of my sales are coming from Facebook. One on one selling. But I'd like to scale and start getting organic sales from my website, so I'm looking for some brutally honest feedback. Here is the main/best selling product page: https://pjtheemailguy.com/collections/frontpage/products/email-finding-1-500-emails Tear it to shreads and don't hold anything back! [link] [comments] |
Compensating and keeping track of your sales people? Posted: 06 Jan 2018 07:53 AM PST This past year my business has seen a good amount of growth, and I'm toying around with the idea of promoting an employee to a sales reprepresentative. I have zero experience with employing sales people, though, so I'm looking for some advice! Here's my plan: -Sales rep would receive 5% of all gross income of accounts he pulls in, on top of hourly pay. -Rep would be responsible for using company vans to deliver orders on his route. -When the rep is not delivering orders, he will spend time going after new accounts and meet with current clients to make sure they're happy with our services. Does this seem doable? If so, how do you keep tabs on your sales people to ensure that they are actually working during their scheduled hours? How do you keep track of how well they are doing their job? Is there anything I'm not thinking of? Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Options for becoming a partner? Posted: 06 Jan 2018 09:02 AM PST I currently work for a small business with a sole owner/founder. When I was interviewing we discussed the possibility of partnership which was one of many reasons I joined the company. It's now been a year with no further talk on partnership. I plan on bringing it up during my yearly review in a few weeks and wanted to know how best to do this and what creative options there are for creating partnerships. He opened it 5 years ago and has put a lot of effort into making it into what it is today. But I think I bring a lot of creative new energy for additional revenue streams and other ideas. Whats the best way to become a partner without making him feel like he's giving up "his baby"? Welcome all advice and thoughts. [link] [comments] |
