What is Michael Burry doing today?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2017 05:14 AM PST

Does anybody know what Michael Burry is doing today? I noticed that he filed a 13f in 2016, but didnt continue doing so.

Why did he even file the 13f? Is he back to value investing in his original style?

    Sumzero top idea performance today.

    Posted: 07 Dec 2017 07:09 PM PST

    https://www.cnbc.com/2015/01/15/exclusive-hedge-fund-managers-pick-top-2015-ideas.html

I came across this article. It seems that the top voted idea from Sumzero actually has not performed all that well. It's a little surprising, as smart minds seem to have really all agreed on this pick. Any thoughts on this?

How have other past ideas of the sumzero competition fared?

    Rough 2017 For Value Investors?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2017 09:36 AM PST

Has anyone else experienced a bad 2017? My portfolio is -1.8% YTD and I'm wondering if value stocks in general have had a less-than stellar year. I know VBR is up pretty nicely but I feel like the bulk of the money is flooding into large cap growth stocks. Here are my current holdings..

Which funds (BND, AGG, etc) are at risk if/when student loan debt starts to default?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2017 11:47 AM PST

My core fixed income holdings are in $BND, just reading the prospectus it doesn't appear to be holding student loan debt, but to be honest I have no idea if it's included. Any thoughts at who holds this debt, and many unsuspecting ETF holders at risk?

    $BND Holdings:

    • Asset-Backed: 0.3%

    • Commercial Mortgage-Backed: 1.8%

    • Finance: 8.9%

    • Foreign: 5.6%

    • Government Mortgage-Backed: 21.3%

    • Industrial: 17.5%

    • Other: 0.3%

    • Treasury/Agency: 42.3%

    • Utilities: 2.0%

    • Total: 100.0%

What is the "stock-value" ratio Graham references?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2017 06:59 AM PST

I'm reading SA and he keeps mentioning stock-value ratio alongside earnings coverage.

Is he referring to P/B or maybe Debt-Equity? (Page 190-191 in 6e for an example)

Also the lower the number the better right? As it means less debt?

I find myself rereading parts over and over because so much terminology seems archaic and flowery. But I find the wisdom invaluable and producing great results.

Is it possible to determine the relative future value of marijuana companies in Canada with little/no past earnings or information?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2017 10:06 AM PST

With all of these marijuana suppliers and sellers coming into the market thanks to legalization, I am trying to find the most potential obviously. But with little data to use, such as supply capacity, debt, management etc. how would I go about this?
