    AMD: Buy or Sell?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 08:01 AM PST

I have a few shares of AMD around the average price of $11.25 right now. They just dropped under $10 for the first time in almost a year. Should I buy more AMD right now and ride out this tech dip, or sell it off and cut my losses? Thanks!

Should I sell PYPL down here?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 08:15 AM PST

It sold off last week, now this whole data breach brought it down even farther. I don't know if there will be more pain ahead. Wondering what everyone is doing with this stock and if you recommend holding it or selling it here

I'm a value investor and I'm attracted to Micron low P/E and PEG compared to the competitor. The debt seems manageable and the sector quite solid.

But I don't feel comfortable investing what I don't understand. Can you explain me better the business? What's the difference between NAND, DRAM and NOR?

What risk do you see in this company?

I see a ton of users who share their daily/weekly picks, but just wondering if anyone has been following any users in particular that have been right on the money.

CVS agrees to buy Aetna for $207/share, but AET is down to ~$180 today. Why?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 09:20 AM PST

I'm not a stock expert, so mainly looking for a bit of education here. Does this indicate the street doesn't feel like the deal will be approved/go through? Or still too early to tell? From what I remember, most times a deal gets announced, the stock for the company being acquired almost immediately goes up to somewhere right around the announced purchase price.

Tax Reform. What’s next for the market?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 12:24 PM PST

So the long awaited tax reform is basically completed. The legislations that's been hyping the market all year. While there are still details to be worked out, I'm starting to think about whether there is any more good news to come? Or does this mark the turnaround?

    My thoughts:

There is the "best is yet to come" argument, saying companies have yet to benefit from the tax cuts (which has been said, by CEOs themselves, will increase their ability to reward shareholders). But is the promise of share buybacks enough to keep this market climbing?

On the other hand, I am wondering if the market will turn its attention from Tax Reform and focus more on political investigations and mounting tensions with rocket man. Which will surely cause some uncertainty, as we saw last Friday.

Interested to see what everyone else thinks!

As someone just starting to research the markets do you have any advice on how to find information on a company or what caused a change in stock price?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 05:31 AM PST

Im just starting to learn about the markets and was looking at the stock for activation. On 11/28/2017 its stock went from 65.97 to 60.96 and hasn't been above 63.43 since. Ive been trying to use google to figure out what happened that day that would effect activisions stock but I can't seem to find anything that happened those days. Overall it seems like activation is a good investment just looking at the graphs, they have steady overall increase but I'm not willing to throw money at ANY stocks until I understand the workings of the market better.

    $IPGP Explanation

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 07:06 AM PST

Has had an amazing story the past 5 years. Steady exponential increase in share price. Super smooth curve. For YEARS it followed this trend. Now for the past 10 days it falls from 242 to 216. Does ANYONE have a clue what is going on? Cannot find any articles on the internet talking about this. Thanks.

    ALGN down 10%

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 11:46 AM PST

It had been hanging in a bit ago. Anyone know why it plunged or is this just part of this crappy day? Seems extreme. They got a price target bump to 265 this morning even.

I own some $OLED and I was wondering if I should add more, hold what I have, or sell off some/all of it.

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 07:48 AM PST

Sorry, newb question. As the title says, I have some $OLED and I guess it did OK. I was wondering if I should buy more thinking that maybe the company will keep doing better. If not should I hold what I have, or maybe even sell off some or all of it?

I'm willing to hold it for years and years if it seems right to do so. No rush, just wondering what move to make.
