Tips on running my first business (Food Delivery)

    Posted: 30 Jan 2022 12:42 AM PST

I am about to start a food delivery business, starting in my own very small city. This is my first venture and i am partners with a friend. What would you recommend to young team of two people? How to develop good practices? What should we avoid? If someone already runs food delivery business, how to make it more efficient and profitable?

    Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

What is an example of an online business that succeeded in your country locally?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2022 11:41 PM PST

I will give some examples of ours:

    - Print Application (Web app for designing cups, shirts, etc. You Pay and they ship it printed.)
    - Web Hosting (Everyone goes digital, so this is in demand but too much competition)
    - Meme sites (Revenue from ads, classic)
    - Dropshipping (You know what I mean)

    Why such garbage

    Posted: 29 Jan 2022 06:23 PM PST

How is it that big business and even some small ones can, sell crap products or services for example only facebook, McDonald's, hotels, corner stores, bars, and still make loads of money by not fixing their problems. Yet I sell a good service with very good employees yet I can hardly get off the ground. Does this mean I should just cut back on the service I sell get crap employees, pay them min wage. I should get more contacts. Sorry I just don't get. And ready to just give up, but that's just not me to do.

Do companies deliberately make inferior products?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2022 03:26 PM PST

Old Navy, Gap, and Banana Republic are all owned by the same company. They each sell very similar products, namely shirts and pants. But they each serve a different market, appealing across a spectrum of various values such as cost, function, status, style, etc.

So I'm wondering, is it reasonable to think that Gap clothing could be produced to the same level of quality and style as the other "higher status" brands without any corresponding cost involved in doing so, but that clothing is intentionally produced at a calculated lower quality level to maintain distinction between brands?

I suppose other reasons could be discouraging cannibalization of each brand and preventing dilution of brand equity.

I suppose the same questions can be extended to completely different markets as well, like Toyota/ Lexus, and even within a single company. Like, did Tesla deliberately make their Model 3 look less cool than the Model S, even though it would have been only negligibly more expensive to make it look a little cooler?
